This was great because I have met far too many safety instructors with just some courses under their belt and little experience to share. The facility is very well set up with forklift tracks, scaffolding and everything else you could need INDOORS. In short, the prices are good value, the staff are great, and the facility is top notch. A great experience and I hope to be back.

I have taken the course before at St John Ambulance, Red Cross and the American Heart Association. Of all of them, this one by far is not only the most educational but also fun . The instructor ( Sunny ) was a great instructor in the class - she relates a lot of stories as a way to remember how to apply the necessary first aid. Although the majority of the class were there for re-certification, we went through the material in a timely manner and she made sure we understood the topics. By day 2 there was only two of us so the day went quickly. Sunny reviewed the materials and prepped us for the big test. although the cost of the course is slightly higher , it is well worth going there for your first aid / CPR . Highly recommend to go here instead of downtown or west end if you live on the southside. Located at Milbourne Mall , so there is plenty of parking.

I think I paid like $150 for the two-day in person. They also offer a blended course which is one day online and one day in class. I would do that but for my work I have to take the two-day in person. They do everything from CPR to seizures to heat stroke etc. The only thing is that you don't get a free first aid kit at the end. :( This is the first time I've ever not gotten one.

Some of the material was dry but the instructor did a good job of teaching it. I was nervous about having to actually act out some of the scenarios and perform CPR on the dummies but it went well and it was a very supportive environment. It's a great place to get your first aid certification if you need to or if you just want to be prepared!

The Speech Studio is an exceptional speech, drama, and acting school in Edmonton. It prepares…read morestudents for board-certified examinations for the Royal Conservatory of Music (based on Toronto) and for the Trinity College of London (based in England). Shirley, the managing director, is extremely approachable, friendly, and dedicated to seeing your children succeed. Staff are highly trained; the studio is clean, well-furnished, and inviting. Pros: boosts child's confidence, writing skills, reduces performance anxiety, and ability to memorize; do a yearly performance involving all students; one of the better extracurricular choices to take on outside of school Cons: may be difficult to get scheduled to classes with Shirley in your first year (you may have to do a trial year with a junior teacher before studying with Shirley); studio does not maintain a very strong online presence, so it is best to give them a call. Summary: Studying with Shirley is a benefit without words. You must try out the Speech Studio. I had the benefit of being able to teach at the Studio in 2015-2016.

I've taken a few courses through Metro (now located in Avonmore School) and to be clear, the 5 star…read morerating is for the IN-CLASS courses. They are amazing! BUT, the one course I took by CORRESPONDENCE was an extremely confusing and annoying experience!! There is a huge disconnect between the teachers who mark the modules and the metro staff who give you the modules. Nobody knew what was going on the entire time I was trying to complete Chem 20 by correspondence and there were several mix-ups with the marking and exams... would NOT recommend doing correspondence through this place... HOWEVER, I am having an excellent experience with the night classes! The Chem 30 teacher, Mr. Callegari is fantastic, and so is Ms. Brownie in the Math 20-1 fast track program. The teachers put in a lot of effort to teach all the students everything they can. I really enjoy the class structure, and actually LOOK FORWARD TO GOING TO SCHOOL! This was not how I felt about chemistry and math in high school... There is also lots of extra "study skills" type workshops available for free to Metro students; a nice, big student lounge with free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate every night; free tutors available most evenings before classes start; and excellent student counselors. I would highly recommend anyone wishing to take night classes to go through Metro. The night classes are twice a week for four months for a regular course, and three times a week for two months for a fast track course. I'm able to work full time during the day and complete three entire high school courses in four months (one regular course Mon & Wed and two fast track courses Tues, Thurs & Sat).

Life's Healing Choices is a course offered by Beulah Alliance Church. The purpose of the course is…read moreto help people deal with their hurts, hang ups, and habits. This is an eight week course and I have to say, I wish was longer. This course is amazing! Anyone who has ever been hurt by someone, been the one who hurt someone, or is dealing with a bad habit or addiction should take this course. A DVD teaching by Rick Warren (Author of The Purpose Driven Life) starts off each session. The workbook that comes with the course has a few blanks to fill in while he talks and highlights the key points of the message. Everyone then separates into gender-specific groups (about 6 people, same groups for the whole 8 weeks) to talk about everything. There are some questions suggested but it's really just a time to get stuff out, ask questions and support each other. It's a great time. It's very freeing. I found that this course has helped me in many ways. It has helped me to refocus my life in the direction I want to go, helped me deal with some past hurts and ask forgiveness of those I've hurt in the past. Whether you think you should take this course or not, you should. You don't have to have serious, life-altering problems to benefit from it. I didn't. I had a few little things that I wanted to address and I came out of it with so much more than I ever expected. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of joining Tyler Nielsen from Vision Cast Canada Inc…read more (http://www.vision-cast.com) for a day with a room full of fresh entrepreneurs, each equipped with a business vision and the dedication to learn how to achieve it. Anderson Career Training Institute set up the room in a U shape which really encouraged dialogue and participation. I also liked the fact that they have their own parking and both a water and coffee machine. These are small details often overlooked, but if you are going to spend a day somewhere getting trained, it's always good to know there is coffee and water, at the ver least. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. I especially enjoyed how the wall is covered with motivational posters, and success slogans. The atmosphere really encourages and fosters ambitious thirst for learning. I look forward to returning soon and highly recommend those starting their own businesses to explore what Anderson can offer you.
