It's been 1 year since we put our dog Daisy down. Little did we know that by hiring Dr. Natasha Russell and her assistant, Eva that Daisy's last 10 minutes on earth would be full of fear and panic.
They administered a powerful sedative to her and left our home, to go outside and wait in their car for 10 minutes- I don't know why they did that.
Daisy reacted badly to this sedative, she fell down, struggled to get herself up but couldn't and started to panic and cry horribly.
Do you know how long 10 minutes can take to pass? I do, it's like forever. While I held my terrified Daisy, I tried desperately to comfort her, she continued making that awful sound, all the while looking into my eyes for me to help her. I couldn't leave her alone to rush outside to get help from Dr. Natasha Russell. I just held her and tried my best to calm her and tell her "It's okay Daisy, you're OK Daisy." But she was not ok. 10 minutes drags on forever when you're holding a terrified dog.
When the time comes to end the life of your pet, it is important to have your beloved pet put down by a veterinarian that knows its temperament. It's taken me a year to write this because I felt it was somehow my fault. This wasn't my fault. Dr. Natasha Russell promised me that Daisy would have a peaceful passing. Our Daisy reacted badly to the sedative - there was no relief or help for Daisy, Dr. Natasha Russell should never have left our home after giving such a powerful sedative, without knowing how she'd react to it. We are haunted to this day by the distress Daisy felt as her life was ending. In our case and with hindsight, we know that her passing could have been so much more humane and peaceful, had we chosen to have our dog's regular vet end her life in his clinic, where help is immediately available if anything goes wrong. Over the following few days, I tried calling Dr. Natasha Russell for answers as to why she left our home - she never returned my calls.
This was our experience. Please carefully consider how you want your pet's life to end and please do not use Dr. Natasha Russell's services: in our opinion, she does not deliver on what she promises. Our Daisy deserved so much better. read more
