Safety measures are in place at this office. You must call when you arrive to limit capacity and for COVID-19 screening questions. When the staff is ready for you, you walk inside and get your temperature checked. Everyone is spaced apart and dividers are in place to ensure patients are separated from one another. While there is usually a play room and lots of old and new video games, they have all been removed due to COVID-19. I look forward to their return one day. Nonetheless, this is still a very kid friendly space.

The waiting room includes a sea-themed playroom for kids attached to the typical waiting space. The staff is always happy and able to help in any way they can. Dr. Steckler is very friendly and personable (on our last visit, he noticed my son's new light-up shoes and got him excited), completely understands kids, and is very easy-going. I also love that all dental work is done in one open room, so everyone can see everything going on and it cuts back on any unease for kids and parents. You enter the first front door,you stop for your temperature check and Covid-19 survey. If you pass the test you then enter the second set of doors and find a chair in the waiting room that have been spaced to account for social distancing. Of course all this time you are required to wear a face mask. Then in my case I was there for a long overdue dental hygiene cleaning. Each hygienists space was designed to be a separate room when this office was built. The hygienist starts by handing you a mouthwash to swish with for 30 seconds to help kill any bacteria or virus that may be lurking in your mouth. At this point the patient is safe to be without their face mask but the hygienist dons a mouth/nose covering and a clear face shield. The traditional cleaning takes place from here on with x-rays, gum measuring, water pick scaling, and finally polishing. Dr. Renshaw made his appearance and consultation after the gum measurements were taken. When you leave after your appointment you exit via the back door which puts you in the same convenient parking lot. Thanks Geri for making my mouth feel so good again. We had an appointment within one week. We drive an hour and a half because it really is THAT great. My daughter has had to get sedation dental work done and Dr. Jones and her staff have all been amazing with each visit. Aside from the amazing Dr. Jones and her staff, the office is so fun! It's like the dental version of Dr. Seuss complete with a pirate ship in the waiting area, wobble stools for kids who need a little extra stimulation and a shark who needs his teeth cleaned (or his eyeballs). Overall, I highly recommend Beaumont Kids Dentistry. The staff work so hard to make kids feel comfortable and have a great time at the dentist. I had to have a few fillings done, and it was the first time that I have never felt the needle - not one little bit! This was also the first time that I can remember having an oral cancer screening and a gum disease check done at my first appointment.
