Went here cause my mother in law wanted to get my youngest a beginner book on how to play the ukulele. Not to bad of customer service when you first walk in, helped us out right away. Very attentive off the bat and helped my son tune his ukulele. After we asked where the beginners books were they pretty much minded there on business and never really checked on us which I thought was odd. As far as price goes, it's a music shop right off the Main Street so you can expect too pay a good price but not an arm and a leg unless you wanna go big. Overall not a bad place. read more

I went to Edmond Music yesterday looking to upgrade my ukulele. They have a huge selection of guitars and several ukuleles. They also have several beautiful pianos. ( l wish I could play piano better.) I found the perfect baritone ukulele. The sales person was great. He was very knowledgeable but not pushy or overfamiliar at all. I enjoyed my shopping experience. And today I'm enjoying my new uke! (Sorry I was so excited about the ukes I forgot to take pictures.) read more

Enormous selection of guitars! I did not see a ton of horns or woodwinds here, could be at the other store, I haven't been there yet! Helpful staff, beautiful displays, super knowledgeable! Was referred by a colleague as I needed to have my mother's piano moved from SW Oklahoma. Susan was great to work with and was able to get it scheduled a lot quicker than expected. On the day of transfer, the movers stayed in touch so that I knew when it would arrive. It was in perfect condition upon arrival. Set up and placement was efficient. After a few weeks of online research into Taylor guitars, I ventured into Edmond Music to try a few selected models. First, I'll say I was surprised at the sheer number of guitars, of all brands and styles, they carry. I was immediately greeted by one of the employees and he spent well over an hour with me, answering questions, fetching every guitar I was interested in trying and even fetching a few he recommended, based on the models I asked for. I found out Edmond Music is the largest Taylor dealer in the region, so if you are interested in a Taylor guitar, check them out! Based on my one experience, I can highly recommend Edmond Music. I will most likely be trying out their guitar repair services in the very near future. read more

So I decided to pick up a guitar and saw this was the closest store. Being a beginner I was hesitant to walk in....but im so glad I did the entire staff was wonderful so patient and kind with me! Im sure I butchered some terminology but they didint say anything and treated me as if I was a regular I instantly felt comfortable in the store. I had their guitar specialist Scott help me out with finding a guitar! Scott is an amazing guy very knowledgeable and helpful. Scott is the type of guy you just don't forget about with how extremely kind he his. Moral of the story these are some great people stop by! read more

All of the musicians I know have nothing but negative things to say about Edmond Music. I personally have been in the store several times and the customer service never ceases to amaze me, in a negative way. I was in the store buying some guitar strings. After I purchased my items, I began looking at pianos, as my family is in the market for a piano in our home. I began to play some on a piano and was approached by one of their employees. He asked me to stop playing because there was a woman in the store playing a Steinway or something. He assumed that I was goofing around, when, in fact, I was shopping. He insisted that because I was not playing a $70,000 piano that I needed to not play and let the other woman play. I have never had such a terrible experience with customer service. Their prices seem high. Their selection is pretty decent. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Edmond Music. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I have no clue what others on this page are talking about, this is a great place to shop. They fixed my guitar twice in about a months time, and didn't charge me the second time because of the extreme weather change we had which impacted my guitar. Overall great experiences and I will definitely be back. read more

I've been in on 3 different occasions to look at guitars. And even though the selection is descent, the service has been consistently substandard. Ironically, I got dealt the owner/manager guy each time and from the moment he opened his mouth, it was abundantly clear that, for him, it's ALL about the $$$. We rented an instrument for my daughter from Edmond Music at the Larson Music location. It was a nice instrument and a good experience for her. Over a year later they realized that I was due my deposit back. They called me and sent me a check. They could have kept the money and I would have never known. Two days ago, my son, daughter and I went into Edmond Music for a new shoulder rest for a violin and a book of piano sheet music. While we were there, I told my son he could play the pianos. An employee asked if we were in the market, and I told him we were in the process of buying a Kawai from a store in the northeast. The salesman got irritated and began to SCOLD me for buying a piano online. Now, I understand that online business may be cutting into the profits of a local music store, but that's no excuse for unprofessional behavior. The truth is that I called Edmond Music first in our piano hunt, because I believe in supporting local businesses, and I was told that the only used pianos they sell are Steinways, which are upward of $30,000 dollars. Well out of our budget. But in the store two days ago, the sales man spouted absolute bull$$$$ in front of a store full of employees and customers, telling me that because of the moisture difference between the northeast and Oklahoma, any piano I bought online wouldn't be fit for our dryer climate. Please! I've done my research. That's bull. Any piano manufactured by Yamaha or Kawai after the 1960s was manufactured to a *world* standard, suitable to be played anywhere. And by that flawed logic, anyone who lived in Boston, then moved to Oklahoma would have to buy a whole new piano. That moisture argument is nothing but a sales gimmick intended to scare people into spending more on pianos from local authorized dealers and cut down on the competition from used pianos and unauthorized dealers. Beyond that, the salesman humiliated my fourteen year old son by saying that no "true player" would buy a piano on the internet. My son was so embarrassed he had to walk away. IT IS NOT UP TO AN EMPLOYEE TO DETERMINE WHO IS OR IS NOT A "TRUE PLAYER." A "true player" will find a piano he or she can afford in order to keep playing and taking lessons, rather than struggle on with no instrument at all because the local store's prices can't compete with legitimate used piano dealers (vetted by the Better Business Bureau) on the internet. DO NOT assume that I am a fool just because I'm buying a piano from some place other than your overpriced store full of rude employees. I've done my research. The piano we're buying comes with a warranty and is in perfect condition. And though we've been loyal customers of Edmond Music for years, we will now be buying ALL of our musical equipment and music online. read more

I've been involved with rock music for 30+ years. I've shopped at local music stores for instruments and gear and big box stores, such as Guitar Center and Musician's Friend (same thing). Edmond Music is overpriced and full of arrogant staff. One guy who shares my first name is the epitome of this. I bought my son a band instrument from this place and they charged way too much for it. To top it off, we were involved in a payment plan and someone there swiped my cc number and tried to finance a pizza party from Papa John's. Don't shop at this place. The store shipped my new guitar immediately , informing me all the way, sending links so I could track my purchase with ease. My purchase was made thru their website in OK. I will be taking my money to Edmond music 10 out of 10 times and you should too. Unlike other guitar stores I have been to, they never seem to be rushing you or following you around and let you spend your own time browsing the instruments. I recently had pickups that needed installing, and not only was it done very quickly but they treated me very well. There was a bit of a miscommunication on both ends and when I arrived to pick it up they charged me only for what I had perceived I was being charged. I've been to this store at least 6-7 times in the 15 years I've lived in Edmond. I consistently have an awful experience. There have been multiple times where I NEEDED to purchase something, but walked out and chose to drive 10 miles to the next store. The employees/managers/owner/whatever are all just absolutely pretentious, and I get the feeling that they enjoy having this reputation. There is a general attitude in the room that you're annoying them and you probably should just leave. (If you want to cater to the $20,000 grand piano crowd perhaps you shouldn't sell them alongside $50 guitars.) Most of them know NOTHING about guitar yet don't mind blatantly making crap up. Further, their prices are way too high. This is not a friendly mom-and-pop kind of store that I normally enjoy giving my business to. With the lack of options around here, I would gladly give my business to Guitar Center and never walk this place again. How are they still in business? I guess surviving on the occasional idiot paying $10,000 too much for a piano and the dozens of walk-ins by easy targets that are buying something for their kids. read more

I recently went to Edmond Music to purchase a saddle to fix my nephew's acoustic guitar. I was shocked at how rude the sales associate I interacted with was. When I told him what I was looking for, he was belittling and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. I did my best to be polite and give this person the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was having bad day. But to treat a first time customer this way is inexcusable. I have been a guitar player for 15 plus years and have lived in Tulsa, NYC, and other places around the country and never been treated this poorly before. The worst experience I have ever had in a music store, and that includes Guitar Center. From the moment I walked in this older man with jet black hair started interrogating me. I am looking for a nice Gibson acoustic. The experience was like that horrible one you have at a used car lot with the salesman from hell. He finally walked away and played for 2 or 3 minutes, but as soon as I stopped, he had been waiting around the corner and stepped up and started questioning me again. He may be the owner. If he would have left me alone he might have ended up with a sale. read more

I recently had them do work on my acoustic guitar. They told me it was ready to pick up. After paying, they gave me my guitar, said it was all fixed and pointed me to the door saying I'm good to go. I felt uneasy about leaving without double checking their work. To my assumption they had not fixed my guitar but had only put on new strings. I confronted them about it and they happily went to work on my guitar. After about 10min the guitar "technician" told me that basically he doesn't have the tools to fix the bridge that needs repair in order to set the action on the neck correctly. I payed a set up charge of $45 for them to put on new strings and not inform me they are not capable for doing the work they made me believe they could, would and had done. I would expect them to show me the work they couldn't do, charge me for the new strings and send me to someone who can actually fix it and not try and steal money from me for work they never did. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Very impersonal and will not tell you what you need to know, they withhold in order to make money. read more
