This particular Monday evening, I struck out at a couple of places, everything was closed. One of those moments where you realize, "You're exactly where you're supposed to be, even if you didn't plan on it." When I walked up, the young woman working was sitting and visiting with who I initially thought was family. I apologized for interrupting what I assumed was a family dinner, and she immediately explained they were regular customers and close friends, and that she'd be more than happy to help me. That set the tone right away. Tacos look a little different in North Carolina where I live, so I had questions. She never made me feel rushed or out of place. Instead, she pulled up photos, explained the menu, and walked me through the different meats and options. I ended up ordering a mix of five different tacos on both corn and flour tortillas, and decided to step outside my comfort zone with a couple of selections I don't usually try. She even gave me a heads up about the tripas, letting me know it had a different taste and that I might not like it. I've heard my Hispanic friends rave about it for years, so I took the gamble, and I'm glad I did. Everything was excellent. The customer service really stood out. I had ordered my food to go, and it was a cold night. I was only wearing a short sleeve shirt, and without hesitation she told me to go wait in my car, that it was too cold to stand outside, and that she would bring the food out to me. She genuinely wanted me to stay warm, and sure enough, she brought everything right out once it was ready. That small gesture made a big impression. I felt like a genuinely valued customer, almost like an extended family member rather than just someone passing through. Don't let the fact that this is a small food truck in a parking lot fool you. This is absolutely a place worth stopping for, and one you don't want to miss. It's now on my "must stop when I'm in the area" list. Thank you for a great meal and an even better experience.

The prices were also very reasonable. However, the service was disappointing. When we first walked in, no one greeted or acknowledged us. I wasn't sure if it was "seat yourself" or "wait to be seated," so we grabbed a table. We sat for about 13 minutes without being checked on, and we eventually had to wave someone down to get service. It definitely disappointing on our first impression. As for the food, it was solid. I ordered the pancake platter and they were amazing, ginormous, fluffy, and perfect. It comes with bacon or sausage but i have my bacon too my date because I don't eat pork. My date got three tacos, potato egg and bacon, barbacoa, and picadillo with potato. I'm picky about potatoes at Mexican restaurants, but these were spot on. The barbacoa looked great and wasn't greasy, and the picadillo was delicious as well. The tortillas were mid. I've had better, but overall, the food was great. I would definitely come back, but I think I'll stick to the drive-thru next time to avoid the wait!

Picnic tables are scattered around for seating, and cold drinks in the fridge by the order window. I had the Street Taco Plate, which comes with 5 street tacos with 2 choices of meat. I chose barbacoa and carne al pastor, two of my barometers for a good taqueria. Both meats were delicious - the barbacoa was meltingly tender and moist - very slightly flavored with cinnamon and maybe allspice? Anyway - definitely get the barbacoa. Same advice for the carne al pastor - delicious marinated pork crisped on the flattop and generously spooned into doubled corn street taco tortillas - Add onion and cilantro, a spritz of lime and a little of either the red or green house salsa and ascend to taco heaven. My husband got the crispy taco plate - 2 crispy corn-shell tacos, one with carnitas and the other with carne al pastor. Carnitas were tender and so so porky and delicious - another excellent meat choice if you come. Both plates are served with homestyle Mexican rice and refried beans. Their meat choices are: pollo (stewed chicken), carne asada (beef steak), chicharron, carne al pastor, carnitas (roast pork) and Barbacoa. Picadillo (ground beef stew) and Carne Guisada (beef chile stew). 5 comida autentica como en su casa stars!!
