My mom got me a dozen chocolate-dipped strawberries from here and they were great. When we went to pick them up we were served as soon as we walked in the door and the box was sitting in the fridge ready for us. The packaging was pretty and the strawberries looked nice and tasted good. The strawberries were fresh and although some were larger than others, they were all generally large. The chocolate was dark chocolate and the slight bitterness complemented the sweetness of the strawberries well. So a dozen chocolate-dipped strawberries is usually $29.99, but my mom got the box she gave me as part of their promotion where you get it free if you buy an edible arrangement over $50. She bought an edible arrangement for an extended family member in a different city and the store had no problems with giving the free strawberries to me here in Ottawa. My mom said that the service was always good and they were really friendly with her on the phone. When we went to pick up the strawberries the person working there was very nice. I had heard about Edible Arrangements but I had never bought anything from them nor tasted anything made by them before. After this experience I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future. I think that they are a good alternative to flowers. I know that I personally prefer food to flowers, lol. This location is in Barrhaven in the plaza with the movie theatre. It's tucked away to the left of the movie theatre, near Shawarma Heaven and next to the vacuum store. Lots of free parking.

I completed the order form asking for Delivery Dec 18. When I confirmed with my family they didn't receive it I called. I had all my info from the original order, I was abruptly told they don't deliver outside of Ottawa to a bedroom community. I said that would have been helpful information the month prior when they took my money. The person was rude and saying there aren't delivering at all in Dec. again then don't take orders. They did process the refund upon request but I doubt I would have unless I followed up. I would never use again! On the bright side the AnnaStubbe location had exceptional customer service and more then willing to help!

The server greeted me right away and asked if I wanted regular hot chocolate or spicy. I chose spicy (I love spicy anything)! It took maybe 10 minutes to make, which is a while, but you can browse the store in the meantime; the variety of chocolates was stunning! They also have 3 types of chocolate cakes you can purchase as slices. I chose to take it to go, but if you have the hot chocolate there, they are served in tall pretty glasses. The hot chocolate was piping hot, and quite rich; the spices really crept up on you, and made drinking it an interesting experience!

I originally wanted a drink. I was in front of Cacao 70. I had never been to any of its franchises in my life. It was time to check this one out. This dessert place is next to a plant store. Deadly for someone who loves plants and chocolate. I was immediately greeted by a young man. He said to sit anywhere that I'd like. I chose a table with four chairs. My bag with my new pair of Crocs occupied one of them with my purse. I sat down and got menus from the man. There were a couple of men, it looked like a dad-son duo, sitting by the window. They ordered a bit ahead of me and pretty much wolfed down everything. I asked for water. I got cold water in a glass carafe, along with a glass. This water alone hit the spot. I ordered an iced mocha from the menu first. It's a mom-son duo running the show. They speak Cantonese. I overheard their conversation attempting to secure a used stove over the phone. What caught my attention on the menu was doing a fondue for one. Although I wasn't dying to eat anything, dessert time with fruit seemed perfect. I chose dark chocolate as my classic chocolate fondue. The dunkable items that accompanied the fondue consisted of chocolate brownie bites, classic waffle bites, and fruit (bananas, strawberries, and pineapple). The iced mocha was awesome. I heard it being blended in the kitchen before it came to me. It was cold, and had the best balance of coffee and chocolate flavours. It does have dairy in it. I thoroughly enjoyed having a fondue hour on a Thursday afternoon. The fruit was fresh and the perfect size to dunk into the dark chocolate. The sheen on the dark chocolate was impressive. This place does chocolate fondue superbly. There is something zen about dunking fruit and other goodies into dark chocolate with a fondue fork and indulging in each coated morsel. The dark chocolate was perfect. It wasn't bitter. It wasn't sugary. It was exactly how I like dark chocolate, but in fondue form. The chocolate brownie bites made you feel like this fondue experience was fancy. Chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. The bites had a crispy exterior that held the softer interior together as you dunked it into the fondue. So good! The waffle bites were equally as cool. It was like having chocolate waffles, but better and without any maple syrup or whipped cream. I paid at the counter with a credit card. It also allowed me to tip. I let the man know that everything was delicious, which he appreciated. This place didn't have air conditioning, but cool air did circulate well. There was a fly around, which was the only annoying part of the experience. I used the washroom before I left. It was a single stall that was clean. It's to the left of the counter when you walk up to it. I loved being here. I really should visit Cacao 70 more often. I'm so glad that my first experience at one was in Ottawa. (314)

For this particular visit, I discovered that Purdy's also makes white chocolate salted caramel, and in particular, a variety of broken pieces priced to sell, so I tried this. An excellent excuse to shop Canadian! Oh my! Salted caramel in white chocolate is also sinfully good! I will definitely be back! Hopefully not every week, though... my teeth would not forgive me for caving in so often!!

Although they've expanded across Canada, they still make all their chocolates in Vancouver. They use 100% sustainable cocoa. This location is in Carlingwood Mall and is similar to other locations inside malls in layout and size. They have a chocolate fountain and the sell ice cream as well. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic (which we are still in at the time of the writing of the review) this location would hold chocolate making classes. I never took them, but they sound like fun. Purdys is famous for their hazelnut cream chocolates that are shaped like hedgehogs. The chocolates are a bit pricey (a box of 18 goes for $22, and a box of 25 goes for $32) but they taste delicious. They have some cool flavours like "Goat Cheese & Chardonnay," Chai Tea Caramel, and Chili Pepper. They also have more traditional flavours like strawberry cream and mint. I'm a fan :)
