I completed the order form asking for Delivery Dec 18. When I confirmed with my family they didn't receive it I called. I had all my info from the original order, I was abruptly told they don't deliver outside of Ottawa to a bedroom community. I said that would have been helpful information the month prior when they took my money. The person was rude and saying there aren't delivering at all in Dec. again then don't take orders. They did process the refund upon request but I doubt I would have unless I followed up. I would never use again! On the bright side the AnnaStubbe location had exceptional customer service and more then willing to help!

This specific location is in the Saint Laurent Shopping Centre. All the Purdys Chocolatiers in Ottawa are inside shopping malls, but I believe that in other cities, especially in Vancouver, they have freestanding stores. I enjoy their chocolates. I went online wanting to buy more but shipping was very expensive so I hit up the store today at St. Laurent mall to stock up on the single bars. They are 3 for $7.00 and kind of small but you can taste the quality. Of course they sell so much more at Purdy's like boxes of chocolates, ice cream, and little chocolate treats for the holidays. It was pretty busy here on a Saturday afternoon, with only one associate working. She had her hands full but worked as fast as humanly possible to get through the line she had. It is also a very small store and they tried to create a one way entrance and exit using foot step pictures on the floor , but I didn't notice it at first and entered through the exit. Sorry. I hate being that person. Overall, good store, kinda pricey, but if you like chocolate or if you are looking for a gift for a chocolate fanatic definitely check this place out.

They have a large variety of Jelly Belly flavours, as well as Pez dispensers. They sell Funko Pops, as well as socks with candies printed on them. Their prices are on the higher end, so I wouldn't come to Sugar Mountain to get candy you can easily get elsewhere for cheaper, but for harder to find candies, especially imported ones, their prices are comparable to other stores that sell such items (except for the Asian candies, Asian grocery stores have much better prices). I like to buy British chocolates at Sugar Mountain, like Flake and Curly Wurly. They also have harder to find KitKat flavours, but not the Asian flavours. Recently, they also started carrying those Japanese make your own gummy kits by the company Kracie. They are quite expensive ($10) but so cute. My brother actually bought a Kracie Popin' Cooking' Candy Ramen for his kids to make with me. And it was super fun and they loved it, both the process of making it, and eating it afterwards. This is what started my nieces' love for these kits and now I'm scouring the city for more varieties of these kits, lol. Sugar Mountain is worth checking out if you like candies, especially imported candies. I also love the retro candy store vibe. This location is in the Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre.

The Long Version: My mom and I took my little nieces on an outing to Bayshore Shopping Centre. I like to treat my nieces to new adventures, including new (to them) foods. I thought they might like to try Turkish Delight, so I brought them to Kalamata, which is a kiosk on the second floor by the Winners, Famous Footwear and Les Moulins La Fayette. My nieces wanted the orange flavoured Turkish Delight, so I got them each a piece. The apple flavour and cherry coconut flavour looked interesting to me, so I got a piece of each of those flavours too. The price is by weight, $32.40/lb which is super expensive IMO, lol. The 4 cubes which were smaller than a standard household ice cube came out to $9.07. My nieces enjoyed their treat, but weren't wowed by it. They weren't interested in trying the other flavours I bought, so I shared them with my mom and we felt the same way. They were good, but not great, in our opinions. They weren't as soft as I like and tasted a bit dried out. After I made my purchase my mom decided to go back and get some baklava. It was Friday and on Fridays their baklava are 15% off. My mom got 2 pieces. One was a square of almond cake (did not have phyllo pastry) and the other was a phyllo roll with I think pistachios inside. The baklava is also sold by the weight and I think she paid about $12 for the 2 pieces, after the discount. We felt the same way about the baklava: they were good but nothing wow for us. Considering the prices of their items, I expected more wow. They also sell nougat slices, dried fruits and nuts, and of course the product of their namesake: olives. Their products are aesthetically pleasing, and staff were very friendly, but I personally did not feel I got adequate bang for my buck. I love taking advantage of their sales on these. Unfortunately, there isn't a Lindt shop anywhere close to where I currently live. Maybe that's a good thing? But, when I got hit on the hand by the metal pole of their flying patio umbrella (not bolted down or affixed to their patio table), I was dismissed ('there's nothing wrong with your hand') & told to just google their information because they don't have a business card, there's no manager or person in charge on the premises yet there were 3 women from the café who avoided my request for contact information. They did offer ice in a bag BUT only after much insisting that I'd like to speak to someone in charge of the café. Again, I was dismissed and told that there's no responsibility to be had because it was an accident and that I should leave the premises because I was causing a scene since I ended up crying because my hand was hurting. The packaging was pretty and the strawberries looked nice and tasted good. The strawberries were fresh and although some were larger than others, they were all generally large. The chocolate was dark chocolate and the slight bitterness complemented the sweetness of the strawberries well. So a dozen chocolate-dipped strawberries is usually $29.99, but my mom got the box she gave me as part of their promotion where you get it free if you buy an edible arrangement over $50. She bought an edible arrangement for an extended family member in a different city and the store had no problems with giving the free strawberries to me here in Ottawa. My mom said that the service was always good and they were really friendly with her on the phone. When we went to pick up the strawberries the person working there was very nice. I had heard about Edible Arrangements but I had never bought anything from them nor tasted anything made by them before. After this experience I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future. I think that they are a good alternative to flowers. I know that I personally prefer food to flowers, lol. This location is in Barrhaven in the plaza with the movie theatre. It's tucked away to the left of the movie theatre, near Shawarma Heaven and next to the vacuum store. Lots of free parking.
