I would say everyone that worked there displayed excellent customer service. I checked in on Saturday. The young lady at the desk was very nice. She was very welcoming to me. When we return later back to the facility, it was someone else at the desk and they were also very nice making sure they always acknowledge anyone that came in and out the door the front door. Even the housekeeping was on top of everything making sure they kept the facility, clean and smelling good constantly cleaning the hallways, keeping the overall aesthetics of the facility up . The room was nice and clean. I like the feature that you were that you were able to control the TV with your phone. The buffet breakfast was the best part. They had everything that you could name and it was really good. Kudos to the young man that was in charge of the breakfest. He wore a chef style hat and I think his name was Louis. I'm not sure but he was there on Sunday and Monday. He assisted my family with whatever they needed. He was very nice as well and he kept the buffet area very clean. I would definitely choose to stay here again .

It offered a customer-focused approach, which was distinct because most hotels will explain it but act as if they're not authorized or willing to leave the front desk. Of course, as I encountered the room, I used my black light to search for critters and stains. Surprisingly, I didn't find any stains, but I did find dust behind the grate in the bed frame. I don't know why anyone would design something so challenging to get into to clear the dust--still, a minor issue. Next, the hotel offered breakfast, which is always nice since I'm not a morning person, even when I'm on a business trip. So, not having to go out and search for a diner is welcoming, and they offered eggs, sausage, and some other items. The grounds were well kept and right next to Mercer University Medical School, but the building is small. Plus, the area offered a river walk along the Chattahoochee.

I say that with all politeness but I wouldn't be being fully transparent if I didn't mention it. If you are new to the area and looking for a place to stay nearby, this Hampton Inn location is an excellent decision. When I told my son we'd grab a place to stay 2minutes from the base the evening before he was set to report back at 6a, he wasn't overly thrilled. I assured him it looked ok from my research. As soon as he realized it was next door to the Infantry Museum he knew it was ok. The staff were very friendly. We slept well at night. The hotel has a pool and serves a hot breakfast in the morning. They have a small military discount and while I haven't stayed at anything on the base I can confidently say this is a safe and great place to stay if you're looking to be nearby. If you're traveling as a family, the pool and brekke options may be especially nice. Had I known there was a pool sooner, I think we would have spent a bit of time out there. Perfect for summer stays! They had cookies out at night and I spotted grab and go style lunch/snack packs during the day, in addition to coffee/tea/hot cocoa out 24/7. They have small refrigerators in the room (no freezer) we did root beer floats for dessert but ended up needing to toss our ice-cream as we wouldn't be able to freeze it. Plenty of safe, lit parking in large lot out front. I mention this as we had two cars (a rental and his car we'd have transported to Columbus) full of my sons belongings and I really wanted to ensure that his items were safe overnight. Exceptional waffle maker at the breakfast buffet! Made the most perfectly crisp waffle :) Clean, comfy and caring. You're in good hands here.

Is it convenient? Yes. Is the staff friendly and accommodating? Yes, mostly. Is it clean? lol NO…read more Will you sleep well? Probably not. We were here for a conference. The location is great--extremely walkable to a lot of what Columbus has to offer. One of those things is a train. It will come through at different times of the day and night. Because it trolleys through the town on top of the street, they are blasting their horn for ~15 mins at a time to warn pedestrians and vehicles. I was awoken many times throughout the stay as it makes its way down the street, directly in front of the hotel. It'll be 10, 11, 12, 2, 4 AM. It doesn't matter. It feels like the train is right inside your room. The volume is so extreme, I could actually feel vibrations on the 4th floor. My room had a lot of water damage in the bathroom. The floors were spongy, buckled, and sticky. The shower surfaces were also covered in gooey residue. The biggest offender of cleanliness was the bed. One of the beds had makeup/dirt on the corner of the sheet closest to where your face would be. I let front desk know about all of the messes of the room and they sent house cleaning in the morning. They cleaned the bathroom, but instead of replacing the sheets or bedding, they just remade the bed. You could tell it was the exact same sheet because it was the same brown stains and same corner of the bed. It really makes you wonder what they are actually cleaning between guests. Another gripe is the door lock situation. When you open the door, there is a 50% chance that your deadbolt lock will activate. This means you're held hostage from leaving your room until you get it to go back inside the door. I called the front desk to troubleshoot and ask for maintenance. They eventually sent maintenance to confirm this was happening, but the front desk insisted this was a feature not a bug. It is extremely inconvenient if you're trying to leave your room quickly. This issue also caused a hand injury for one of my colleagues as most of us in our group (we had 7 reservations) had this issue with the doors. Forgot to mention, a smoke alarm went off for almost 45 mins inside another guests' room on the floor. The poor guy had literally just checked in and was not smoking. Not a great stay. Most of the staff was super friendly and accommodating. There is an M lounge and a connected Houlihan's. The bartenders and staff there are excellent.

I understand that the lock upgrade happened following my stay, but it doesn't help my situation. Despite bringing this to the hotel's attention, the resolution offered, a mere 10,000 points does not even come close to addressing the inconvenience, frustration, and disruption I endured. I spent two nights at your hotel, paying over $400, only to receive what amounts to less than a third of a night's stay in compensation. This response is not just inadequate; it is insulting. Given the circumstances, I expected Marriott to take customer concerns seriously and provide a resolution that reflects the gravity of the issue. Instead, I was met with a dismissive attempt to pacify me with minimal effort. As a result of this experience, I will make it a point to never stay at a Marriott property again. Furthermore, I will ensure that my experience is well-documented and shared across social media platforms so that others are aware of the lack of care and accountability demonstrated by Marriott. I strongly urge Marriott to reconsider how it handles customer safety concerns and service failures. I do not feel the results are sufficient and even after speaking with a supervisor today they say they feel I was taken care of by being given the second room. Is this a place you would want to stay?

We got a great nights sleep. The front desk staff - both when we checked in and the next morning were pleasant, personable and professional. THE NOT SO GOOD - we had looked at booking online but decided to call the hotel directly. The man who answered the phone was NOT pleasant, personable or professional. When we asked about booking 2 rooms for 2 nights, he rather curtly replied - we don't have any rooms available. So, we went online and booked. My sister called the hotel later the same day - also requesting 2 rooms for 2 nights and was able to book the rooms. The bathroom was poorly stocked. We had to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper. In addition, you got 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels - no wash cloths (face cloths). Also, during a 2-night stay, your doesn't get serviced at all. I don't need fresh bed linens for a 2- night stay but fresh towels would be nice, especially considering the humidity in Georgia. In the span of 24 hours, my towel was still damp from the day before. Overall, a decent experience. Just not DoubleTree's normal 4-star rating.

The hotel is located a half-block off Broadway, the main street in downtown Columbus. It is also within 2 blocks of the river walk. Pros: - We were able to walk to our dinner reservation a couple of blocks away. You can easily walk to just about anything in the core downtown business district. - Room was quiet and spacious. - Breakfast was good (and included in the price). Cons: - Parking is in a gated lot on premises and costs an additional $12 per night. I understand this (given their location). Also, the lot is a 2-story deck. If you arrive late, there is a good chance you'll need to park in the lower level, take an elevator up one floor to the exterior deck, and then enter the hotel from there. This isn't a major problem, just something to be aware of. It is a trade off versus the other conveniences of their location. If we have tickets for an evening performance in Columbus later in the year, we'll likely return here.

When I went into the bathroom to wash my hands, I immediately noticed a stained and unclean towel so I decided to check a few more. There were several towels that were obviously nasty which left me with an uncomfortable feeling about the cleanliness of our room. I called downstairs and asked to speak with the manager and the receptionist (Carlin) said he was in a meeting and asked what she could help me with so I started explaining to her about the stained/nasty towels hanging in our bathroom. Suddenly the phone clicked out, so, I called back to the front desk in a matter of seconds and the manager (Mr. Alex, an Indian man) answered however, I could here the lady talking to him in the background. The manager said that they've been having big problems with the phone whereas it'll just cut off. I told him to let me hold on the phone while the receptionist (Carlin) tell him what my complaint was. He asked me what the problem was and I said to him if the phone is gonna keep turning off then let me hold on while Carlin explained to him about my concern. Nonetheless, he wasn't listening and was very rude. I told Mr. Alex that I was running out of time to prepare for my pick so we simply ended the call. In addition to the nasty towels, there was a red shirt left in the drawer that had something about abortions on it. Those issues were clear indicators that the room had not been properly cleaned or sanitized. At that point my husband and I would've checked out but it was the week for military graduations and all of the hotels were fully booked. We sanitized the room ourselves with OdoBan, Lysol and Clorox wipes. We thought to also go to a local store to simply purchase our own towels. Taking into account of Covid, germs, and other viruses that's around nowadays, cleanliness along with sanitation should be first and foremost however, at this location it's obviously not their concern. Mr. Nassatta,…read more April 2 ,2026 As the CEO of Hilton Hotels, I do hope this e-mail is directly to you even though I'm sure you are a very busy man, the reason I say this is my daughter representing me has been receiving the runaround since March 16, 2026. I was a guest along with my daughter, son-in-law and my 4 grandchildren from March 12, 2026, to March 15, 2026. We were in Columbus to witness my grandson's turning green ceremony at Fort Benning (Ironically- Formally Fort Moore). In the early morning hours of March 15, 2026 I was awakened by the sound of my room door handle turning, as I sat up I was faced with a Man in the doorway with the light at his back, I could not see his face but I did see his backpack and the flashlight he was holding in his hand at chest height not a phone flashlight but a regular flashlight. Now you can understand my shock and panic when I saw this strange man in my hotel room, I did yell out a few expletives asking what he was doing, at that point 2 of my grandchildren that were staying in my room sat up awakened by my yelling. This stranger said he must have the wrong room and said he was looking for his mother I asked how the hell he got into my room, he said he got a key card at the desk. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME) then backed out and slithered away. Kind of makes you wonder what he was exactly up to. Now I quickly get dressed, which is not as easy as it sounds, due to being 67 and stiff early in the morning. I went to the front desk to be met by a wide-eyed young lady who seemed to be expecting me. I told her my name Mary Moore and room number 215. The rooms were booked under my daughter Mary Campbell. She said she was expecting me (ARE YOU SERIOUS) . She then went on to say the man in my room was at the wrong hotel. Now this future aerospace engineer, otherwise known as a spaceshot of a hotel clerk assured me I was in no danger obviously psychic abilities are her forte as she "looked at this intruders license and took his word for it that his mother was in room 215 " again reiterating I was in no danger. Thank God it wasn't a room with a young woman or a disabled person. By now I hope you see the HUGE problem I have with this. Fortunately for the clerk Angelique I thought I would go back to my room before my rage hit a new height and I lost it. Unfortunately for Angelique my daughter addressed the situation and was told to calm down no one was in danger, Angelique did end up in tears. One should never tell a daughter who is upset about her mother's safety to calm down. It never ends well. A manager was contacted. My daughter spoke to someone that identified himself as Reese the Regional manager who assured my daughter that this would be addressed and someone from corporate would be calling her, that never happened. He told her to get a Hiltons reward account and he would give her points for the stay, that never happened. Now I'm not saying that Hilton doesn't value it's customers but no follow-through and empty answers and no communication doesn't scream customer service or any real care or concern. My daughter has been given the runaround since this happened, which I think is strange since everyone she spoke to has a mother somewhere and seemed genuinely shocked that this occurred. So, I am writing to you because I do not have the patience or good graces my daughter has after weeks of disturbed sleep and total rage that this total lack of responsibility and safety for customers is in any way acceptable to any business. I do expect a reply to this Email not from some costumer service mouthpiece but from someone that does have some authority and can give myself and my daughter an explanation as why this happened and why we have been given the run around. I have stayed at Hilton several times and never had a problem but this experience and the lack of caring about senior citizens' safety is totally unacceptable. I have yet to discuss this incident publicly but that will be my next step if this is not addressed and we all know how social media, followers and local news love to run with a senior safety issue. Just saying. Expect to hear from you soon. Mary T. Moore This is the letter I sent to the CEO on April 3rd, no email no call no reply, First time I have been anywhere in 18 years and this happens and the hotel doesn't seem to care. I have not even mentioned the state of the room UGH.

As I began to wipe the sink counter and over to the light switch I noticed the wall was dirty so I wiped the spot on the wall when I noticed the wall was dirty and stained all the way down to the base boards. I moved to the toilet and the wall behind the toilet is nasty. I could not go that far into cleaning this bathroom so I cleaned the toilet and moved to the shower and when I tried to open the sliding glass doors there were stuck together on the track. Husband and I both tried moving the doors but was not working and as it's glass we decided to stop trying to avoid breaking the glass because at this point it was apparent we would have to literally yank these doors with all our strength and possibly break them sending glass all over and sending us to the hospital. After wiping the shower walls I turned on the shower faucet to rinse the cleaner the entire faucet fixture moved from side to side. This faucet is no longer attached to the wall. So we decided to just shower as quickly as possible because the shower doors are open and water was just spraying onto the floor so I put down towels and did not bother calling back to the desk for help because we called when we first got to the room and when we flushed the toilet, it began to overfill as if it was going to overflow and we are exhausted (we checked in @10 pm after driving for hours) and honestly what would they have done. Whoever cleaned or was "supposed" to clean this bathroom had to slide their body sideways into the shower like we did to even get in and clean because these doors are stuck in the track and are not moving which leads to believe they did not clean the shower. Moving to the bedroom I removed the hotel sheets and blanket and wiped the vinyl headboard with a wet cloth and was shocked to see the amount of dirt on the towel after wiping the headboard it was disgusting. I could literally see my handprint in dirt on the towel. Honestly I would have been more comfortable staying in a tent outside than in this room. When the baseboards of a room are filthy, that is a sign that it is not being well kept at all. We are totally shocked at the lack of maintenance and sanitation in your hotel. This was possibly the worst room I have ever booked in my life. This was definitely Not the Hilton Honors experience
