It was a wonderful escape, especially during the winter with their Olympic size mineral spring pool. It was/is magical to see the steam rising off the springs and looking up at the stars at night with my daughter. She was a stressed out middle schooler/high school student when we 1st discovered ISR. At the time, it was a little pricey, but something we could afford occasionally. Now, let's just say big buckets of money. My daughter is now a doctor and married, and she recently visited for the holidays. I looked for something special for a relaxing time because of holiday travel and their work lives. I was so lucky to speak to Eli to inquire about a 2 day stay. Out of all our visits I feel this was the friendliest conversation and pretty much booked it because of Eli. She booked at a very busy time my special requests. The rooms were very nice, clean & comfortable. I booked two rooms but did not want them side-by-side. Maybe just a couple of rooms apart but in the same building. Can you believe I had the nerve to ask this during the Christmas season? She not only did not laugh in my face, but she actually booked it perfectly. I have to say this is the first friendly and personal service I've ever received at Indian Springs. The posted House Rules are sensible, but enforcement is inconsistent. Pool manager Claire frequently singles us out (phone use today, our daughter with pool noodles, snacks/drinks placement) while other kids build slides out of floats and noodles. She also overlooks shouting, rough play, and other prohibited behaviors. Other staff don't enforce these rules. We support fair rules for everyone's comfort and safety. When applied unevenly by one person, it detracts from the relaxing experience. We hope management retrains the team on consistent enforcement and hospitality so we can continue visiting regularly. The receptionist with the dark curly hair who greeted us. Very nice, smiled very friendly. However her whole family was at wrk w her? Her husband, dog, daughter and daughter's husband w their baby?? I'm so confused. She at the least was very friendly and courteous. Knew how to speak to customers. I just don't agree w family being at ur wrk place. My Main upset was the blond hair dresser older women who said nothing to me as I sat down in her chair. Gave us a dead stare as we came in. Interrupted me as I tried to explain what I would like to be done. She spoke over me the entire time. I was in shock. My experience with her was horrific. As I sat down in her chair, she never even made eye contact with me or greeted me or acknowledged my presence as a customer. I had to be the one to say hello, how are you and all I got as a response was "good". Honestly, I should've just got up and walked out at that point. However I tried to explain even if she was constantly cutting me off. My hair is on the thicker side so I needed some thinning done w out using the thinning scissors. She wouldn't stop interrupting me so ultimately it just never happened. She never asked if I'll be OK to wash my hair. She just told me to go over to the sink. I asked her if this was included w the basic woman's cut, she said she she's doing this on her own because my hair is thick and it will be easier for her. No prior communication of this to me at all. Attitude was unprofessional, not friendly at all. She needs to learn how to do a better consultation. After my cut she didn't even finish blow drying my hair. I left wet and full of hair everywhere. She had zero people skills, let alone hairdressing skills were questionable. I don't understand how people work directly with people daily and behave like this at their job! I really do believe that she was racist. Immediately saw me and treated me like she had a distain for a certain type of people. I saw her how she interacted and spoke to other people. It was definitely not the same vibe. It's unfortunate experience all together. I paid money to be treated like this. It gave me a gross feeling for the rest of my day. However as a mom and grown woman I don't feel the need to make a big deal in public when people do the wrong thing I just chose not to give them my business again.
