What a WONDERFUL place!! We've just moved to the area 3 months ago. First went here for dinner and it was fantastic!! This morning we go for breakfast. It was a short 15 minute wait but well worth it!! I had the eggs Benedict with potatoes and my boyfriend had the Migas...both were fresh and fantastic! Terrific food. Terrific service. A treasure way out in B.F.Egypt (no joke, it's in a part of Magnolia known as "Egypt"). We were introduced to the restaurant by some friends that live up in Magnolia and I'm so glad they did. This place is hit or miss. Usually a miss, unless you order the chicken pot pie, or something else that is a standard on their menu. This is the third time in a row that what was ordered was not delivered. Today it was a "seafood fondue". What was delivered was mushy, over-cooked seafood in what can be best described as a kind of espagnole sauce broiled with cheese. This was after 40 minutes of waiting for the food. Wine was good though. Too bad I couldn't enjoy it because I didn't want to drink on an empty stomach. Waitress offered no condolence except telling me "she spoke to the manager". Love this place! Nice family atmosphere, we live in the area and eat there often. Breakfast is great! I love their breakfast tacos and the coffee is amazing...I know that seems weird. I think my favorite dish is between the chicken pot pie and the pot roast. I also have to say that my children love one of the bus "boys". I can not think of his name to save my life! But he always makes an effort to say hello to our kids and it such a sweet man. He is just the cherry on top of this nice little cafe. read more

Not really a café, but I suppose "Eden Family Sit-Down Dining" is a little long for a standard sign. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it, without there being so much I needed a doggy bag. Dessert was also good and featured a 3-inch New York style cheesecake that was to die for. My intention had been to eat some and save the rest for later, but, like so many good intentions, that one disappeared in a contented sigh within seconds. We went for lunch today. I had the Cajun pasta and my kids had the kids quesadillas with plantains and my husband had the beef tacos. I loved my Cajun pasta so much. It was tasty yet not too salty. The only thing I would have wished was some bread to go with it. The kids finished their meals so that speaks for itself it was good. My picky husband didn't like his taco much. He said it was ok. Unfortunately I was enjoying my pasta too much to taste his food and comment on it. The waitress was kind and the food came on time. We didn't have to wait long. Been twice have had the chicken marsala, Cuban forgot the mustard:{ and chicken alfredo. My sweetheart is a chicken alfredo obsessed food "junkie" she says its the best in the area. Eden Cafe is a great place to get a "home cooked" meal without feeling like you just had a greasy, fattening meal at a restaurant. Their Cuban Ropa Vieja and Chicken Marsala are my two favorite dishes. Both so satisfying and full of flavor. Additionally, I like that they have different specials daily on a rotating weekly menu and half off bottles of wine on Monday and Wednesday. The wines by the glass offers are yummy too-try the Tinto Negro Malbec with the Ropa Vieja (delish!). My only qualm is they are not open on Sunday (though I understand it's for religious reasons) and sometimes their side vegetable items are undercooked. We eat here often, you should too. P.S. This is a locally owned establishment that is really a treat to eat at. This is another case where I wish yelp had half stars - as I would give them a 4.5. I can't quite tilt it to a five, but they're close. It's certainly very, very good "high end comfort food," and beats the chains in this genre hands down. They've got a VERY good selection of wines by the glass, which they are more than happy to provide you samples of to ensure you find the glass that is most to your liking. They have excellent specials and a competent wait staff that isn't afraid to steer you away from a dish if they think it may not be your thing when you describe what you are wanting. This is a quality that you won't find in the staff at many restaurants - and it's appreciated. I also respect the fact that they close on Sunday to spend family time. Given all of this, it's a definite "regular" on our rotation and one that's worth taking note of if you happen to be in the Magnolia area. read more

Great cafe offering a variety of dishes. This place can get pretty packed during lunch so it's best to come early or late. They don't have a printed kids menu but our server recited about 8 dishes and my daughter ordered the spaghetti with meatball and my son had chicken tenders and fries. My husband had the lasagna and I had the Cuban Ropa Vieja. Portions are huge and prices are fair. Everything we ordered was yummy, flavorful, nice and hot. I didn't have room for dessert but stilled ordered 6 beignets. I mean, how do you pass up straight out of the fryer, covered in powdered sugar beignets. They were everything I hoped. We ate here for the first time last night. My husband and I were in the area and looked to Yelp to see where we should go. Based on ratings we chose Eden Cafe. From beginning to the end it was a great experience. Food was excellent, service was excellent. The only negative was the iced tea I ordered tasted old, so I switched it out for a soda. Fantastic! From the time we walked in to the time we left we felt like family. The food was just wonderful. I had the crab cakes that were moist and delicious, my husband had the steak sandwich that he raved about (and he never raves about food), my mom had the avocado burger that she said was simply the best she'd ever had and our fantastic server, Danielle, suggested the peanut butter and jelly sandwich for our 2 year old that was on Texas toast. She loved it, as well as the Mac n cheese. We were too full to have dessert,but we will be back! read more

Phenomenal. Small town feel with downtown quality. My son and I split the country fried steak with mashed pots. My daughter's mac & cheese was like something my mother would make (she's a great cook by the way). Remarkably friendly and efficient staff. Though the ambiance can be a bit boisterous sometimes, much like a large family gathering, the friendly staff, and occasionally the owner (Mr. Ulises), are quick to make you feel like....well, family.
