We were walking down Malabanias Road and noticed Edelweiss Bistro and Restaurant. They specialize in Austrian, German and Swiss fare: as true foodies, hubby and I decided to check things out.
Place is tiny with a small patio and a weak air con. Staff do speak and understand English, plus they do a good job describing their offerings. Since many of the names of the items were in German, we asked them detailed questions about their menu before we made our decision.
THINGS WE HAVE ORDERED HERE:
-Beef mami - meh
-Pork Schnitzel Sandwich - delicious sandwich with fresh veggies served on soft rye bread. I chose a spicy mustard to go with it. WHEW! That mustard cleared my sinuses, it was yummy though.
- Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich - delicious but I personally think the pork schnitzel is better.
- Sisig - fatty and full of gristle
- Chicken curry - chicken was tough, curry sauce was ok
- Spicy Hungarian sausage - this was yummy especially paired with their spicy mustard
So to sum things up: I would suggest to skip their Filipino dishes and stick to their European dishes, especially the schnitzel sandwiches. Don't forget to ask for their yummy spicy mustard and to order the fries extra crispy.
TIP - they open late in the day 3pm. read more
