Great place but had to give it 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe on another night I would have given 5.
First, the food was mostly delicious. Servings were family style, however, the Green Beef Curry, which they said was good for two, was not really. I am a bigger guy but even my small wife thought it was not enough for more than one person. The taste was great and so we overlooked the amount. The Bagoong Rice with Roasted Pork was right on when they said it was good for 2-3 people. It didn't have as much bagoong flavor as I personally like but still very good. For dessert, we got the Mango Sticky Rice with the coconut milk on the side. I dont know if they actually used sticky rice because it wasn't like other sticky rices we have eaten before. Flavor-wise though, it was sat.
Next is the service. We came in with only one other active table and so we were seated immediately and our table was set soon after. Our orders were taken as soon as we called and the wait for the food was not long. I just have a couple of complaints with the service. One, the waitress should have been more attentive when it came to the little things. For example, filling the water glass, which I think is very basic. Towards the middle and end of our meal it got pretty busy and so I can understand that they were short handed but at the beginning of the meal the waitress passed by our table several times and did nothing. I recommend the waitresses be trained so they ask how the meal is going and to refill drinks without being prompted. The second complaint is the staffing. They had two waitresses. One was on point but the second one was not- she was who complaint number one was about. It was awkward as well when at the peak of dinner, when they had a couple large parties, a few parties of four and a few couples eating, the second waitress was on the phone for a couple of minutes and then left for about ten minutes leaving the other waitress by herself.
Lastly, the price was reasonable. Everything on the menu, from appetizers to desserts were prices from about 150-400 pesos. Since the servings were meant to be family style, the meal wont break the bank. For us, the Bagoong Rice, Curry, Mango dessert, and service charge was about PHP 800.
Overall, it was a good experience and maybe on a different night it would have been an excellent. We will definitely come back to try more things on the menu. read more
