Eddy's is a great option for local produce. My favorite thing to get here is their concord grape juice and I miss it so much now that I live in California. I really need to time my visits better. Like most farms the items are seasonal and I've had so much fun picking my own grapes here with family. They also have apple picking and great cider. I love being able to stop here and browse the latest items available and I always have a great interaction with the team here. read more

This experience was delightful! My friend and I went apple picking practically the last day apples were available to pick. The owner's son personally showed us the area where good apples were still left for picking. He also provided us with tons of education about the apples and trees while doing it with a sense of humor. This fruit farm also has a somewhat random disc golf course on it which is kind of neat if you're into the sport. The store on the property and surrounding area outside of the store is filled with delicious looking items for purchase. I will definitely be returning next year! read more

I went apple picking for the first time and I was lucky enough to go twice! Andrew and I picked apples the first time and my mom and I picked apples and Concord grapes the second time. The employees are friendly and very helpful. I appreciate the detailed instructions they provide on the location of each type of fruit. The trees were somewhat over-picked by the time we stopped by, but we still left with more than enough. This was around the time they closed for a week to ensure there was enough for the season. I expected to pay a lot more than what we did, but it was like $4 for 10 medium sized apples. We also stopped by the general store and picked up quite a few things. We love supporting small businesses and they had a few within their shop. Over the span of my two trips, I left with green peppers, jalapeños, cucumbers, cheese, coffee, and popcorn. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 2/$1 peppers and 5/$1 jalapeños. Since my family is from this area, Eddy's Fruit Farm has been an integral part of our produce, baking, and fun-having for years. It's a family owned farm, with three generations of Eddys working the stands & the store. If you pick your own, you'll likely meet Tom Eddy, an eccentric engaging character who's always willing to give you the low down on how the seasons been going and which apples are going to be your best bet for every imaginable apple-thing. I've seen all kinds of pickers here over the years: young bucks, old fucks, newly married and from out of state! Let your inner gatherer run wild... and your dog too :) So lucky to have a spot like this. More diverse selection & better produce than at neighboring gentrified Patterson's, which has become rather tourist-centric. Get over to Eddy's and get lost in the giant orchard. Definitely the #1 place to go for fall apple picking! My boyfriend and I had originally planned on heading to Patterson's because of its popular reputation and famed cider donuts, but we actually ended up coming here instead after being less than impressed by Patterson's long lines and limited apple selection. This farm offers extensive, spaciously spread orchards with larger trees, a greater selection of apple varieties across the spectrum of tart to sweet, and other fruits depending on the month and what's in season. In addition to apples, we were able to pick fresh peaches, plums and grapes in early September. All the fresh fruits are weighed together, regardless of type, and charged a bulk price of $1.50/lb - a total steal so stock up for yummy tarts, pies and apple butter all autumn long! Overall, we preferred Eddy's mom-and-pop vibes over Patterson's crowded, commercialized atmosphere that seems to be more aimed at big families coming for hay rides and cider donuts rather than actual apple picking. That being said, they don't sell donuts or sweet treats here so I'd actually recommend going to both since they're such close neighbors. Stop by Patterson's to get your donut and cider fix but then head over to Eddy's (3 min away) for the quintessential apple picking experience! read more

I went around a month or two ago with my co-workers. It was a fun bonding experience. Everyone did their best to socially distance, but it was still very packed! Please wear your mask and keep your distance. This was my first time at an apple farm and I was surprised there was no entrance fee, especially since you could taste test the fruit straight off the trees. It was a fun outing and the employees were very knowledgeable of the different varieties, which ones were in season, and which way to walk. They also had concord grapes which were to die for. (I really like grapes) There were sweet, semi-sweet, and tart apples but between you and me, I thought they were all quite tart. (I do have a sweet tooth though) Regardless, the apples are very high quality and definitely worth the price per pound. We went on a nice day so it was a great exercise to walk around as well. There are no bathrooms, only porta potties, unfortunately, and they are extremely dirty, as expected-- would not recommend. There's a few scattered around. There is also a cute 'gift shop' near the entrance if you want to buy bags of apples instead of picking them, but that's no fun! No, but seriously, there are lots of fruits, fresh apple cider (sad I didn't get to try that), and lots of homemade fruit preserves/jam/etc. Grab your plastic bags/cardboard boxes from the employees and go pick your apples (and grapes) if they're in season, then come back to get them weighed and pay. I went Apple and grape picking here two years in a row with my old roommates who were from Cleveland and told me about this place. It's VERY cute in the fall, very quintessential Midwest. They do hayrides for kids and they have a very large orchard of apples and vineyard of grapes where you can go picking however much you want and pay by the pound. They also have a greenhouse where they grow other veggies and you can buy those too, plus plenty of pies and other homemade baked goods and things like handmade soaps, etc. It's all very cute, and the produce is delicious! The grapes in particular I thought were fun, they had sweet seedless purple and green grapes (although beware - these are so delicious they all get picked SO fast every year so you have to go early!!), and they have lots of Concord grapes which are also delicious but are the kind with seeds and very tangy skin (but the grape flesh inside is very sweet - they're a popular kind used for making wine). The workers here are always very sweet as well, they have such an idyllic job out on this farm that I am unsurprised. Overall I do miss this place in the fall now that I don't live in Cleveland anymore - it's super cute, good for families/kids, and a lovely drive out as well into a green part of the outskirts of Cleveland :) read more

Went apple picking for the first time and loved it! They have a great selection of apples. You drive up to the orchard, park, and pick out your apples. I bought 5 since I was traveling, of variations from sweet to sour, but I ended up loving them all! The price was amazing! I think my 5 apples came out to $2 or something crazy cheap like that. And they were fresh and tasted way better than the grocery stores! In a different part of the farm, you can also buy pumpkins and gourds. (I went last week, so they were in season. They had a whole market, so there were berries, soaps, cookies, etc for sale too.) They also have apple cider for free, but we each donated a dollar. read more

Great variety of apples, pick yourself and at a great price! We bought a variety of apples, 9 pounds, for $10. They also have grapes. We didn't sample any. The apples all looked healthy and tasted delicious! I loved that the orchard owner's family was out working in the field checking out the pickers. There were scales set up and you paid right in the field. We were able to drive our car right out in to the apples, park, hop out and start picking! That was convenient. Great place to bring the family. Bring your wagon and teach the kids where their food comes from. Some had their four legged friends with them as well. Back at the main parking lot was a large selection of specialty grocery/ gift food items and baked pies. They had a large selection of mums, gourds, pumpkins and fresh produce. We have come here every Fall for as long as I can remember to pick apples with our family. There is a store up front where they sell all kinds of things, but usually we just go for the apples. Most years they have a good variety available- follow the signs past the store back to the "pick your own" area. The workers will let you know where to locate different types of apples that are ready to pick and there are markers at the beginning of each row. There are plastic bags available but they are now offering a small discount for people who bring their own bag. Sometimes there are grapes and (I think) pears available to pick as well. Prices are very reasonable. Dogs are welcome, but *for everyone's sake* please pick up after them. Patterson's (down the street) is great, but has turned into a tourist trap, especially on the weekends. Eddy's has a much more relaxed atmosphere IMHO. read more

I love apple picking in the fall, and this was a great place to do it! While other places in the area had already run out of apples, Eddy's still had many varieties. The workers there were very knowledgeable and let us know where to go for different varieties, and they had sweet, semi-sweet, and tart varieties. The property was huge, and it was such a great social distancing activity to do with friends. We were able to take in the fall colors and take apples home for a very reasonable price! For reference, I paid approximately $3 for 2.75 lbs of apples, which will make some amazing pies this week. They also have a farm stand with plenty of amenities and they have pumpkins too, so you would likely be able to find anything you like. It's not fancy by any means, but it doesn't have to be! My wife and I love picking fresh fruit at Eddy's. We like to go 3 times a year: 1. In late July / early august for Peaches, which are incredible. Yes we have great peaches north of the Mason-Dixon line. 2. Early to mid September for early season apples (Zester, Ginger Gold, Honeycrisp, couple others) and 3. Mid-October for peak apple season (Melrose, Mutsu, Jonagold, Empire, Golden Delicious, also concord grapes are delicious off the vine). The pick your own prices beat anything from a grocery store of this quality. I think what we love most about Eddy's is that nothing is really roped off; Eddy just marks the rows and varieties of apples that are ripe and you can wander around in what must be 50+ acres of orchard. So we get a good walk/hike in with our apple picking. Other pick your own orchards, limit where people can go and only couple of varieties are available at a time. I don't think I have ever been to Eddy's when there are less than 4 varieties of apples being picked. read more

Plenty of different varieties of apples and they even have grapes. They also have some assorted goods in their store and pumpkins! The apples are super cheap as well. Quite possibly the best place in the world for anything seasonal related--especially apples and pumpkins. We have been going here for so long and chose this place as it was not as crazy as some of the other bigger farms in the area. Guess word travels fast and now, everyone is going to Edy's! They have an incredible pick your own orchard. One can easily pick and eat their weight in apples in one afternoon. We also make sure to go when the grapes start as nothing is better than Concord grapes fresh off the vine! We picked some out-of-this-world peaches, apples, and green grapes last weekend. They have different fruit growing almost all of the time, just ask. Eddy's has a long and interesting family history. For a neat experience, I recommend talking to the owners working there. Also, fellow customers: PLEASE only pick the fruit marked by signs and traffic cones. Everything else is not ready. Picking it only robs the Eddys of future sales (and robs you of ripened fruit). Likewise, do not sample fruit and then toss it away. If you want to taste something, grab a fallen one from the ground and find a good spot on it to take a bite. It's perfectly clean and safe! Lastly, remember to carry everything you have picked to the storefront and pay for it. read more

In my opinion, there are 2 parts to Eddy's, and I would give both parts 5 stars. There is the pick your own fruit and the fresh vegetables. And then there is the packaged & jarred products that offer a way to taste the best of the season when out of season. The day I went, you wouldn't have thought they'd be busy. It was cold, overcast & drizzling. But the parking lot was full of cars and school buses full of children. Apparently, when it's the right time to pick apples, that is what you do... weather be damned. The pumpkins were truly beautiful and if I could have carried one on the plane, I would have. Instead I loaded up with real Ohio maple syrup, apple butter, cashew brittle, pumpkin bread mix, speciality dippin' mustards and a caramel apple for the road. (No, I didn't eat it while driving) I love supporting a local, family run farm that has been doing what they do best for over a hundred years. It was a very pretty place. on the way to Patterson farm, we saw sign for sweet corn and vegetable, thought on the way back, we can stop by. Patterson was packed and busy. We got bake goods, apple then stopped by at Eddy's to get vegetables. As we entered, a very nice small farm shop. I loved it! Sign in the back said apples and grapes for picking. I wanted to pick grapes!! Went inside, my husband say "Good morning!" to the old man behind the cashier. He said "ha" or "he" or something. (not nice way) OK, he is an old man, grumpy, I guess. I was going to ask "How much is for picking grapes?" I started asking a question, midway he cuts off "Go to back! Drive there!" OK, he is very grumpy and rude old man. We bought corns, went to register to pay. There were another person came out. She was greeting and talking to other family with very happy, pleasant manner. OK, he is very grumpy, but other person is fine. Then she looked at our family and smile went away. If you are not white, don't go there. read more

Still love Eddy's Fruit Farm. Business colleagues of my husband's were in town from Singapore, and before their work week began, we wanted to give them a taste of Cleveland. We were thinking Cleveland Museum of Art or some such attraction, but they wanted "an outdoor experience," even on a chilly day. We headed to Chagrin Falls and had a good walk, they loved the fall colors, the steps to the falls, the park, the neighborhoods, and during conversation over lunch, they wanted to know if there were any farms in the area -- after lunch, we headed to Eddy's. They picked apples, marveled at the pumpkins (they don't have farms back home), and the woods, and I bought them some local maple syrup to take back home. All the way back to the hotel, they laughed and talked and sent photos of their day; simple pleasures (and things I take for granted) are sometimes the most magnificent. read more

The apples were delicious and it was way less crowded than the place down the street--although I'd still recommend showing up on the earlier side if you're planning to visit on a weekend. Apples! Just about every kind you can imagine! And really, really tasty Concord grapes! A good alternative to Patterson's (which is just up the road) when Patterson's is packed or picked over by those pesky school groups. I went on a rainy, cold, WET Saturday a couple of weekends ago, and my friends and I pretty much had our pick of fresh apples and grapes. There is a clear and definite science to apple picking; don't wait for the first frost or let the school groups beat you to the best apples; don't go on a day when every other jerk in the world has the same idea as you. We timed it just right this year, although in previous years I haven't been as lucky. Mid-October is always iffy. If you're gonna get pickin', get out there now! read more

Apple picking is one of our favorite things to do in the fall and while everyone I know goes to Patterson, we are fans of Eddy's. They are basically crowded every weekend we go, but it's worth it. They have a fantastic and diverse orchard filled with so many types of . My kids love picking them and we easily leave with over 40 pounds each time- pies and caramel apples and applesauce, here we come. Also, we get our pumpkins here and make it a point to Visit the barn that is chock full of goodies. Honey sticks and fresh produce and what not- cider, candy, sausage, etc. so good . For you Michigan folks out there who have gone to Wiards, Plymouth Orchards, Dexter and Yates, Eddys is the most comparable you will find in the Cleveland area in terms of the experience and the quality of the cider. Another cider mill down the road is more hyped and the cider is quite a bit more pasteurized which creates a thinner, less rich cider. Eddy's is the real deal. They also feature an enormous variety of apples for picking. The closest second is Beckwith in the Kent area but also very good! The latter two are orchards and not cider mills. The store is full of pies, cakes, baked goods, caramel apples, jams, gift baskets and of course, cider. The apples are sold by weight. There are workers on site to assist with locating which areas to pick by varietal. On their home page, you will find a harvest schedule of over 35 different varietals. Parking is free. Get there early so you get a good spot. Open til 6 on the weekends. read more

We love Eddy's! The apples are plentiful and the seasonal variety is great. But, what brings us back to Eddy's for apples nearly year round over the other orchards in Chesterland is the service. Mr. Eddy ( I assume...) walks out to the store to assist and ring out folks. He is always very helpful, happy and cheerful. The rest of the staff is great too. They will help you find apples packed away in the coolers for the winter months. Oh, and the sweet corn! Fresh peaches! Yum! read more
