Freshly picked apples, peaches, grapes and plums
Leslie H.

Definitely the #1 place to go for fall apple picking! My boyfriend and I had originally planned on heading to Patterson's because of its popular reputation and famed cider donuts, but we actually ended up coming here instead after being less than impressed by Patterson's long lines and limited apple selection. This farm offers extensive, spaciously spread orchards with larger trees, a greater selection of apple varieties across the spectrum of tart to sweet, and other fruits depending on the month and what's in season. In addition to apples, we were able to pick fresh peaches, plums and grapes in early September. All the fresh fruits are weighed together, regardless of type, and charged a bulk price of $1.50/lb - a total steal so stock up for yummy tarts, pies and apple butter all autumn long! Overall, we preferred Eddy's mom-and-pop vibes over Patterson's crowded, commercialized atmosphere that seems to be more aimed at big families coming for hay rides and cider donuts rather than actual apple picking. That being said, they don't sell donuts or sweet treats here so I'd actually recommend going to both since they're such close neighbors. Stop by Patterson's to get your donut and cider fix but then head over to Eddy's (3 min away) for the quintessential apple picking experience!

I went around a month or two ago with my co-workers. It was a fun bonding experience. Everyone did their best to socially distance, but it was still very packed! Please wear your mask and keep your distance. This was my first time at an apple farm and I was surprised there was no entrance fee, especially since you could taste test the fruit straight off the trees. It was a fun outing and the employees were very knowledgeable of the different varieties, which ones were in season, and which way to walk. They also had concord grapes which were to die for. (I really like grapes) There were sweet, semi-sweet, and tart apples but between you and me, I thought they were all quite tart. (I do have a sweet tooth though) Regardless, the apples are very high quality and definitely worth the price per pound. We went on a nice day so it was a great exercise to walk around as well. There are no bathrooms, only porta potties, unfortunately, and they are extremely dirty, as expected-- would not recommend. There's a few scattered around. There is also a cute 'gift shop' near the entrance if you want to buy bags of apples instead of picking them, but that's no fun! No, but seriously, there are lots of fruits, fresh apple cider (sad I didn't get to try that), and lots of homemade fruit preserves/jam/etc. Grab your plastic bags/cardboard boxes from the employees and go pick your apples (and grapes) if they're in season, then come back to get them weighed and pay. Definitely come earlier since they get so packed.

Baby pumpkin was a dollar, the rest was around $2. What a dream.

Went apple picking for the first time and loved it! They have a great selection of apples. You drive up to the orchard, park, and pick out your apples. I bought 5 since I was traveling, of variations from sweet to sour, but I ended up loving them all! The price was amazing! I think my 5 apples came out to $2 or something crazy cheap like that. And they were fresh and tasted way better than the grocery stores! In a different part of the farm, you can also buy pumpkins and gourds. (I went last week, so they were in season. They had a whole market, so there were berries, soaps, cookies, etc for sale too.) They also have apple cider for free, but we each donated a dollar.

Great variety of apples, pick yourself and at a great price! We bought a variety of apples, 9 pounds, for $10. They also have grapes. We didn't sample any. The apples all looked healthy and tasted delicious! I loved that the orchard owner's family was out working in the field checking out the pickers. There were scales set up and you paid right in the field. We were able to drive our car right out in to the apples, park, hop out and start picking! That was convenient. Great place to bring the family. Bring your wagon and teach the kids where their food comes from. Some had their four legged friends with them as well. Back at the main parking lot was a large selection of specialty grocery/ gift food items and baked pies. They had a large selection of mums, gourds, pumpkins and fresh produce. They should start frying fresh donuts at this place! Great place to visit in the fall!

Honeycrisp!

Had a great experience with the pick-your-own apples and had great direction from the staff. This is a great social distancing activity. The actual market was a little disappointing because it had limited stock on fresh produce. I would recommend if it's nice weather and you need a healthy socially distant activity for you or the family!

Best apples ever at Eddy's Fruit Farm. Picked daily.

Wear a mask. I LOVE this farm and their apples: 36 varieties. Many varieties are available to buy or pick yourself. Every week I visit the indoor farm stand for a freshly picked bag of apples. Other veggies too. Yummy apple dumplings. I also walk to the trees and pick apples. Usually Eddy, 90+ years old, is moving around. "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Proof fresh produce is very good for your health, soul, and life.

Bought Gala apples, tough skin, no taste, bad apples. When I point this out I was told to buy my apples elsewhere. Done...I will!

Right down the street from Pattersons. A lot less crowded and a nice place. It's worth stopping by and doing a bit of pumpkin shopping.

It's really nostalgic for me to see all the festive cookies and sweets since I grew up in Europe. Stories aside, this is not my usual ALDI destination (other Mayfield location is), but it is now after my first visit. I found this store to be very well stocked, carrying amazing assortments, and clean. AMBIANCE: The store is your standard AlDI experience. Same layout as elsewhere. This store is very clean and well organized. It's a great pleasure to browse. INVENTORY: I was very pleased with the inventory at this ALDI. Prices have the same great value as at other locations. The seasonal inventory is amazing - mulled wine, baking brie with cranberries, gingerbread coffee, nogs, ice wine, and so on. It's a perfect one-stop destination to get everything for your festive table. Aside from seasonal inventory, I found a few things that I can't find at other ALDI stores. For instance, holiday macarons were available! I most loved the gingerbread ones, and deeply regret not getting a second package. The store has BOOKS! I haven't seen books at other AlDI locations. You'll find books by Freida McFadden here for $9.99. I'm bookish girl, and was a huge fan of these finds! Most were sold out already but it's something to get super excited about! SERVICE: The service at this AlDI is so-so. I had a few questions about finding a few items, and they were pleasantly answered by the staff. The checkout was rather hurried, I wasn't even able to use my cart. My products were just abruptly thrown into my totes. I did not appreciate this level of service. I'd rather manage packing on my own. PARKING: There is a large parking lot by this store. The parking lot is a bit dim lit during the night which makes it look sketchy. ALDI sign is also dim. It's unusual for big plazas such as this one. Also, watch for patches of ice in the winter, it's not so well cleaned. Despite minor negative parts of the shopping experience, I plan to frequent this store. I'll be back this week to replenish macarons and buy cookies for a party I'm attending. If you have last minute holiday needs be sure to stop by!

Staples are available in bulk or individually (such as rice). You'll find Indian souvenirs behind the counter. There's also more than an aisle of packaged spices. I don't dabble much in Indian spices, but someone with spice needs would love this place. Indian spices linger in the air adding a dash of authenticity to this market visit. The inventory is plentiful but not logically organized. For instance, I found sweets in multiple different aisles. The prices for products are not well labeled on the shelves or on the products.
