I've got several bikes in my stables because I enjoy riding bikes on different surfaces. I keep extra bikes around in case my kids and relatives want to go on a bike ride. I sold two bikes recently that either were uncomfortable or weren't being used for cash. I intended to use that cash to buy myself a new, comfortable, quality bike. As I did my research, I fell in love with the Trek Verve 3. I also noticed that there is a global shortage of bikes right now. Bikes are on back order and there is a mad dash for bikes every week when deliveries arrive. I noticed that my local Walmart and Dick's Sporting Goods had no adult bikes on their shelves this past weekend. One bike shop told me that they sold nearly 400 bikes in one week. That's crazy. So, I stopped by Eddy's to see if the Trek Verve 3 size extra large would fit me. A staffer greeted me when I walked in and helped me find the bike I was looking for. He asked for my height, which was the same as his, and he said, 'Sorry, we don't have your size (large) in stock. All we have is the extra large'. I asked if I could ride the bike anyway and after giving him my driver's license, he let me ride it. I liked the bike, but even with the seat down, I could barely reach the ground with my toes - that's a pretty big bike frame! I also inquired about the Bluetooth devices that can transmit riding information to my cell phone. He said the bike I was interested in was specifically built to accommodate such a device. The staff answered all of my questions, but that was the extent of his help. The one thing the employee didn't do was check other Eddy's Bike Shops for the bike I was interested in. Since there is a global shortage of bicycles right now, I think he assumed there wouldn't be any. But after I left, I called all the bike shops in the area. A different Eddy's location told me to call the Stow location, which I promptly did. Neither employee referred me to the Eddy's Bike Shop website. However, upon calling the Stow location, the knowledgeable staffer there informed me that not only did they have the bike I wanted in the size I wanted, but I could order it online AND have it delivered to my local Eddy's location. Outstanding! The first two employees should have mentioned this option. Anyway, I bought the awesome Trek bike and the Bluetooth device online and they will be available in a couple days at my local Eddy's. I'm so excited! Can't wait for my new bike. read more

I bought a Trex FX-2 earlier this year and love the bike. Eddie's offers free adjustments for the first year which is really necessary. I took my bike in after 4 months and they adjusted the brakes and trued the front wheel for free. Two months later I noticed the chain was skipping so I took it in expecting to leave it The repair tech diagnosed that the rear derailer cable had stretched from initial use and just needed adjusted. He did it while I waited. Again for free. I read the negative reviews about Eddie's and can only guess they are from easily disgruntled customers or other bike shops. The only complaint I have is they carry mostly Trex bikes in their non electric bike selection. And it seems Trex sells mostly black and dark grey bikes. But as far as bike shops go, Eddie's is great. read more

This evening was the second bad experience I have had at the Fairlawn location. I thought I would give it a second chance and I was shown terrible service once again. My son and I walked in and were just browsing while one of your associates was working with a customer which is great but he never once acknowledged that we walked in or said I'll be with you when I'm finished/ in a moment. We walked around for about ten mins and neither staff member even looked up or spoke to us. My 6 year old needed to use the restroom so he went to the service desk and the guy DIDNT EVEN LOOK UP AT HIM but said that you didn't have a bathroom. We had planned on buying a bike for him that evening and ended up walking out of the store. I've been treated poorly two times now and will never return. read more

A good selection of bikes and prices are fair. They fall way short in the customer service side. Bought 2 E-bikes $$. One had issues from day one. They serviced it 3 times with no resolve. Once it was out of warranty they came up with a possible solution but charged us for repairs. Manager sold us the bikes and ignored us when we went in about the issue. Probably better to purchase where they stand behind what they sell if it is a problem from the purchase day. read more

Nice enough staff but to have them preform service work be prepared to be over charged. The just charged me $45 to replace a spoke on a wheel they sold me 2 months ago. It is the 3rd spoke to fail on that wheel. The other two cost $20 and $15 at different shops to replace. They sold me a crummy wheel and then make it cost prohibitive to service. Never go here for service and stay away if possible for buying anything. read more

Looking for a new mountain bike and popped in here but they didn't have what I was looking for but suggested I hit the Eddies in either North Olmsted or Stow. Didn't feel like driving to stow so I meandered through Lakwood and RR to a few other shops to see if I would get lucky... Nope... But finally got to the N.O. store and they had a Trek that is PERFECT, and the dude Ian layed down exactly what I wanted to hear and did it in SUCH a non seller way that I was quite impressed.... So sad. Eddy's was always the place I went for bike stuff. Last three times I went were all extremely disappointing. Recent hybrid bike tune up resulted in bike chain that still rattled. Went in this spring looking for my first road bike. Three guys sitting there and none knew anything about bikes- no enthusiasm shown or basic information given. One guy finally looked on the computer and found a bike at another store. Promised he'd call when it got to the Montrose store. After not hearing for a week I called and was told by the manager that it had been sold. I got no telephone call. Went in just yesterday to get a mirror for the drop on my new road bike ( that I bought at Century Cycles). The answer was, "sorry, we don't have any of those" Wow!! It's the summer bike season....Took that same hybrid to Blimp City bikes for a re-tune up and it's perfect. Both Blimp City and Century Cycles have amazing customer service. Despite living in Fairlawn, I am done with Eddys. read more

My first visit there bought some water bottles. Used my one time and noticed their dirt going in the nozzles. So When I asked if I could return or exchange it, they said no cause of the virus. I could of lied and said I didn't use it and they would never known. Well that will be my first and last visit there! read more

Best bike shop ever. I've gone here three times in the past year and every time they have been incredibly helpful. The most recent time I wasted so much time looking for a nut on my own, but when I went to Eddys they had it on hand immediately. I know they don't pay the rent on my two dollar purchases but it doesn't matter, they helped me just the same as if I was buying a thousand dollar bike. Some people have previously given bad reviews about them over charging on a spoke replacement, but if it's so damn easy then replace it yourself. Yeah maybe labor is expensive, but that's how it goes. If you can do it yourself then go for it. They have a skill that you clearly don't. Eddys is great and I will continue to go there for all my bike needs. read more

Great shop for all of your biking needs. Bought a Trek Stache 7 MTB on the advice of the manager, Andrew. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Also had them build a custom carbon wheel set for me that made the Stache even nicer. I've already been back for my complimentary adjustment/tune-up. I recently decided to upgrade my bike. I visited 4 different bike shops and quickly realized Eddy's was the shop for me. I am a large framed person and wanted to be correctly fitted to my new bike. Eddy's was the only place I could get it done. They also had the inventory to make a choice from. I grew up near the Eddy's store in Stow and new of their great bike history. I was not disappointed. With the new bike you get other perks to keep it going your first year. 40+ years that I know of and they haven't changed. They are still one great bike shop. read more

Coupons are designed to drive business to your location. There is a cost for providing coupons. Savvy internet companies consider it the cost of acquiring new customers. Have you received a coupon and told that you can not use it? I had a coupon to Eddys for a small discount. I called to find out if I could use the coupon to purchase the bikes that were recommended to me by them. No one at the store knew anything about these coupons. But the store manager inquired about the coupon and told me that yes he would honor the coupon for my two bike purchase. I then went to the store and selected my bikes. The sale was rung and I signed several disclosures [ some that were not explained well]. The manager called the home office and got approval for the coupon. Then at the last moment he pulled the rug out and said that he could not accept the coupon. This was a blatant attempt to extract additional funds for the purchase. I feel bad that I did not purchase the bikes because the coupon value was so pitiful that it really wasn't a factor. But I could not purchase the bikes because of the deceptive practice. read more
