I was pleased with the end result. My hair looked great, it did have a bit of a burnt smell but I figured it would be ok. Fast forward to 7/13/23 wash day....while washing my hair I could tell immediately that all of my fears would become reality. I had severe heat damage. My once tight coils were now a loose pattern in most areas and straight strands in others. In disappointment, frustration and distress I reached out to the cottage spa via DM on their social media platform to see if there was anything that could be suggested to help besides me cutting my hair. I have yet to receive a reply. If and when I hear something back I will return and update my review. Prior to my visit I did research on the owners social media page, booking website, and this platform. I didn't see reviews less than 5 stars or any indication that I would make me second guess my decision to go to this salon. While I feel that Jay is good hair care professional, it is clear that my hair could not withstand the amount of heat used.
