I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work.
