I've been seen Dr. Ed for over and year now and he has helped me so much. I had a lot of issues in my lower back when I started and now the flare ups are rare. He isn't pushy at all and sincerely wants the best for his patients. Dr. Ed is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything before adjusting. I can't recommend him more! read more

Dr Camp is great. He takes the time to listen and diagnose your issues. That's rare. I have seen him several times. Usually when my lower back is hurting. He adjusts me and gets me on the electric machine for 20 minutes. It's so helpful. Add to that that he is just a great human being. Very kind You are appreciated Dr Camp! read more

Ed Camp Chiropractic - At Dr Camp office. My back is happy! - Chiropractors Near Me - San Francisco, California

Ed Camp has integrity and carefully listens to the needs and wants of his patients. I've purchased two pair of orthotics - both far superior to the ones I bought through UCSF and a shop on Divisadero; and both warranted for a year. One was a higher grade orthotic and Ed ran interference with his supplier to get it right. I've puchased orthotics from many other providers over the last 20 years and have a demanding prescription. Believe me when I say that they were considerably more expensive, less responsive and reluctant to provide any additional tweaks or adjustments. And, both required me to sign a waiver because orthotics are not necessarily the be all, end all of foot problem solutions. The fact that Ed bothered to go the extra mile with Carol N is a plus....its called customer service. UCSF orthotics take 6 weeks to get, those people on Divisidero take 6 weeks and pretty much any order will, unless you buy them off the rack at CVS or Kaiser. Both are an ordeal to deal with because of the clinical setting and their "were doing you a favor" attitude. Finally, Ed did something that no other provider did for me, which was to adjust my foot and the musculature therin. This ensured that my fit was correct to my feet sans stress from walking. Carol is right...the buyer should know the facts. I hope I have provided some useful detail for everyone. read more

My experience working with Dr. Camp on custom orthotics has been exceptional. He listened carefully, communicated clearly through each step of the process, and explains various options I had. The orthotics came out great and helped with some back and leg issues. I found Dr. Camp to be a pleasure to interact with on a personal level- he's empathetic and funny. His prices are very reasonable. Thank you, Dr. Camp! read more

I agree with the reviewers who call Dr. Camp a "diamond in the rough." I've seen a number of chiropractors through the years and needed to change providers recently. He has the warmest personality of any medical professional I've ever met (without being over the top), and truly enjoys being around people -- a rarity I've found as I've gotten older. The office is clean and warm at the same time, with plenty of interesting pictures of his patients through the years (some of them famous). His initial consult was exhaustive in a good way - there was no stone left unturned when it came to my history or his goal of understanding any underlying issues before diagnosis and treatment. After the first few appointments, he's been able to quickly solve the majority of pain in my lower back, and is refreshingly transparent when it comes to the ongoing treatment plan and recommendations. You never feel oversold like you're at a car dealership and he's a genuinely great guy. Finding him has been a huge turn of luck in what always feels like roulette when trying to find someone you trust enough to adjust your neck. Dr. Camp is awesome, give him a shot if you need help and you won't be disappointed. read more

After getting 4 pairs of custom orthotics made by other podiatrists for a foot problem that has been going on since 2016, I made an appointment with Dr. Camp for custom orthotics after reading all of his great reviews. Dr. Camp expertly took my foot measurements and the cast and then had the lab remove a bit of material strategically from a hot spot too (the other podiatrist weren't able to do this). He also had them make a softer insole because part of my issues are caused by a hereditary neuropathic pain in my feet, making the hard insoles very uncomfortable. Anyway, I have been wearing his insoles ever since and my feet are much improved, although the neuropathy will never be totally fixed. And just recently I went back for a second pair too. If you have neuropathy make sure to tell him because he can order a special padded orthotic that is softer. They're great! Thanks Dr. Camp! read more

Our family has been seeing Dr. Camp for a number of years and we give him our highest recommendations! Compared to many other chiropractors who simply try to get you in and out of their office as fast as possible (at premium prices to boot), Dr. Camp takes a very skillful and thoughtful approach to taking care of his clients. Upon arriving into Dr. Camp's office, we find him to be always warm and welcoming. He always takes the time to understand any pain points/issues, gives fantastic adjustments to follow, then allows his clients to relax on his electric muscle stem machine. In addition, Dr. Camp also provides a custom orthodics service, which our family has enjoyed for years as well. Considering the number of times that our family has come in to see Dr. Camp over the years with tweaked necks, backs and more, I can attest that he is absolutely awesome. Thank you Dr. C for taking such good care of our family! read more

"If you were a horse we'd shoot you," said my loving husband. I could barely walk I was in such pain. A fall down the stairs had rendered me useless. I was popping ibuprofen like candy and considering talking to the addict living in a door well on my street for a connection to something stronger. Things were dire. I called Ed. Got an appointment quickly. He adjusted me and then connected me to a machine that used electricity to tire my back muscles and allow them to relax. When I left that day I had gone from an 8 on the pain scale to a 6 and could walk a little better. This improved for the next three days to about a 4. I've seen him two more times since then and I am now pain free. Ed knows his stuff. Maybe too well as he didn't up sell me into ten sessions or any kind of expensive procedures. Plus he's fun to talk to. I highly recommend him. Relief. read more

Quick update. I visited Ed a few more times after my original review, and then stopped because I did not need it any more. I have not seen Ed since May of 2016. Two years later I am pain free and issue free. He fixed me, he taught how to properly sit at my desk working on my computer so that I would have proper posture, and he told me what not to do - crack myself and I have not done it in almost two years. Amazing. read more

Dr. Camp has changed my life! Seriously, I thought my foot and back pain were probably going to be with me the rest of my life, but his custom orthotics have completely resolved my issues. It's amazing. He completed a very thorough initial assessment, patiently explaining what he was doing throughout and answering all my questions. He then offered a couple of options for orthotics. I chose the more expensive version (on my own -- zero pressure from him) and I've been so pleased I even ordered a second pair. Dr. Camp is super knowledgeable, kind and very engaging. Definitely go see him before committing to foot, knee or back surgery, because his orthotics could well be the difference. Thank you, Dr. Camp!! read more

Dollar store of Orthotics. My mistake was in trying to save several hundred dollars and I ended up wasting my money and several months of my time schlepping to his office after numerous attempts to modify my left orthotic. The first clue was a waiver I had to sign that I couldn't sue if the orthotics didn't work out. I should have left right then. I have never had to sign anything like this before or since. The other downside that I didn't know about until it was too late is that the orthotics ( or at least the model I chose) are made back east so the turnaround time is a solid month as is each time a modification is needed. So, a time suck and a complete waste of hundreds of dollars and a man who won't accept any responsibility is a recipe for a disaster. Caveat emptor read more

Ed is an awesome, educated, down to earth Chiro who is thorough, patient, and easy to communicate with. He's got a terrific attitude and helps with both short term and long term goals. I have been his patient for over 10 years...he is the only chiropractor who can fix me in a way that it stays fixed for months. Others I had seen prior almost got you on a treadmill of visits, looking more for the revenue stream. I am double posting this review to give Dr. Camp the credit he deserves!! If you're looking for a good, honest, skilled and reliable chiroractor you need to see Dr. Camp. I'd been told that my back and neck problems would benefit from some chiropractic work so I started shopping around for chiropractors a while back. The first few I met with seemed very turn and burn, insincere and pressing about my course of treatment. Ed Camp explained to me exactly what we would be doing with the treatment, and the cost- benefit analysis of the work. He was able to speak scientifically to some of the concerns that I had with chiropractic work, and made sure we were on the same page before starting treatment. Dr. Camp is an all around good guy as well as a master at what he does. He has a casual approach to client interaction which is comforting to patients, and above all he is honest about his business. I could not be happier with Ed's treatment and I HIGHLY reccomend him. I should probably mention as well that my neck and back have improved immensely with what treatment I have recieved... on a student budget. If thats not a testament to cost vs. benefit, Im not sure what is! read more

Best chiropractor in San Francisco!! Seriously. I've been living with chronic back pain for 8 years. Recently it started to get worse. It was becoming excruciatingly painful and left me unable to walk upright for days, unable to sleep, etc. Finally I decided to visit a chiropractor. I've seen other chiropractors before, but always felt ripped off paying a lot of money for little attention to my problem. Not so with Dr. Camp! My first session with him took more than an hour, and didn't cost a penny more. When I first found Dr. Camp on Yelp about a month ago, I called many different chiropractors in San Francisco trying to find the "best deal" and not only did Dr. Camp have better reviews -- he was also the most affordable!! It's been about a month now and I feel a lot better -- in fact, better than I've ever felt in the last 8 years. Had I known this type of treatment was possible as opposed to what I had gotten from other chiropractors in the past, I would have gone to see Dr. Camp a LONG time ago. So how does a session go? Dr. Camp asks me all about how I feel, where it hurts etc. He then does some really amazing deep massage. -- basically he puts pressure on my muscles and makes the pain go away). Then he'll do a set of chiropractic adjustments. He's always very careful, and as a big, strong man -- he's very effective without having to exert himself. Then I go into the "Traction chair" where my neck is stretched to readjust that "computer programmer curve". Then Dr. Camp puts electrodes on my back for about 30 minutes, gradually increasing the strength of the current. This is much better service than I have gotten from other Chiropractors. Another awesome thing worth noting was the really careful analysis we went through during the first session. Other chiropractors I visited before only asked me questions and felt my back (well except for one -- who also scanned my chakras *grin*). Dr. Camp suggested we do an X-ray to see the mechanics of my neck and back. Then he plotted lines and measured the curvature, calculating the force of gravity on my spine. As an engineer -- I could appreciate this, and could definitely see how having my spine out of place could result in increased wear-and-tear on my back. After we finish treatment in about a month, we'll do another X-ray again to see how much it has improved. Talk about fact-driven treatment! Rock on Dr. Camp! Thanks for saving me from daily back pain and making me feel comfortable about running again. read more

Dr. Ed Camp is definitely your man! Why do I like him? His adjustments (the bone-"cracking" part of chiropractics) are gentle, precise, and effective. I completely trust that he knows what he's doing with each adjustment. The movement of his hands are calculated. You can just tell that he knows what he's doing, and that he won't over- or under-adjust you. He doesn't push treatment on you that you don't need. Unlike some other chiropractors out there who scare you into having to go once a week whether you need to or not so that they can collect your co-pay week after week, Dr. Camp is honest with his assessment of your situation, and will gradually taper off your visits as you get better. He even prescribes some home treatments to save you a few office visits. On your first visit, he does a complete diagnostic review of your spine and neck. He takes careful measurements of your range of motion to establish a baseline. Before he performs a single adjustment, he takes a harmless x-ray of your neck so that he knows exactly what you need. Based on his findings, he tailors his treatment to your body, instead of groping in the dark and hoping for the best. (X-rays are necessary because it's been proven that no one can accurately tell what's going on with the alignment of your spine and neck from looking at or feeling the outside of your body.) Dr. Camp doesn't rely on spinal adjustments alone. For me, I came in with some persistent upper back/shoulderblade pain and numbness. Instead of just cracking me, taking my co-pay, and telling me to come back in a week, like other chiros have in the past, he got to the bottom of my problem. Dr. Camp diagnosed, through the x-ray, that I had lost the curve in my neck. I had a "straight neck," which was caused by years of the unnatural position of hanging my head over a desk to study. The straight neck was not supporting my head, so my upper back was doing a lot of work every day to keep my head upright. The weight of my head on my straight neck was causing my back pain. (Check out the photos he posted, the before/after cervical shots. My neck was just like that.) With the diagnosis, Dr. Camp put me on a device that bends my head back to help me recover the proper neck curve. Within a handful of visits, the PAIN WAS GONE. He gave me a version of the device to take home to use so that I don't have to keep making frequent office visits. Of course, since I can't perform proper spinal and neck adjustments on myself, I do go back for a visit to the doc now and again, but it's on my terms. On top off all that competency, he's a fun guy, too. If you're having back pain, don't wait around like I did. I was in pain for YEARS, thinking that just standing up straighter, and doing some yoga, would take the pain away. None of those things helped without the chiropractic care. read more

Dr. Camp is a unique, knowledgable chiropractor. He has helped with in two urgent situations with my neck and shoulder, as well as adjusted a historically loose ankle. Not only has he been practicing chiropractic since the 90s (judging by his medical certificates and autographs from bodybuilder patients on his wall), he is also an extremity specialist. My ankle bows to him in a tight, controlled and respectful manner. read more

I would give Ed Camp 10 stars if Yelp would allow it. I have seen him 4 times now, three of which were for the same issue. I initially came to Ed after reading his stellar Yelp reviews and I hope to promote his expertise to any hesitant patients. In June of 2013 I rolled my ankle wearing heels but it was not a big deal because I could put weight on it and it was only slightly swollen. I iced my ankle for a day or two and was able to walk on it fine. About a month and half later I was being reckless and ended up rolling my ankle again, this time in a much more serious way. It was extremely swollen and I couldn't put any weight on it, I saw an orthopedic surgeon, got x-rays and found that nothing was broken but I had overstretched some serious ligaments in my ankle. The doctor unsurprisingly did nothing but tell me to "stay off it". Mind you I am an extremely active 22 year old and this wasn't going to cut it for me. I did, however, follow his advice and take it easy for the next 6-8 weeks in which my ankle was to allegedly heal. Eight weeks later, my ankle is STILL SWOLLEN! At this point i'm freaking out and see the doctor again, he does absolutely nothing... See a different doctor... nothing... I was able to walk on my ankle an there was little to no pain but it was still the size of a tennis ball months later. I had never heard about an ankle being swollen for more than 15 weeks so I just completely freaked out. I saw a PT, nothing. I end up calling Dr Camp's office and he tells me that my ankle has in fact healed, but in a slightly skewed position, causing the swelling to continue. Mind you, he diagnosed me over the phone and was 100% correct about what was going wrong with my ankle without ever seeing it. I never thought to see a chiro for an ankle issue but I was desperate. Ed scheduled me two days later and confirmed his hypothesis. He was extremely nurturing to my various questions and kept me in the office for over an hour (as opposed to all my other doctors who hustled me out as fast as possible). He eased my nerves and explained exactly what he thought the issue was. He readjusted my ankle, hips and back and hooked me up to an electric machine that surges my muscles with energy and two days later my ankle swelling had gone down almost completely. I saw him twice more for my ankle and after those visits I was back to running and exercising. He honestly saved me because I truly believe that if I never went to Ed I would still have a swollen weird ankle almost a year later. I would not be able to get back to my regular activities if it was not for Ed. I ended up going back to his office months later after tweaking my knee two days before a music festival. I didn't want to take any chances so I went straight to Ed. Anyway, Ed is the most sincere, knowledgeable and fair doctor I have ever seen. Go to him. read more

I have seen a number of different chiropractors over the nearly ten years I have lived in the Bay Area. Many of the chiropractors I have seen have had great help reviews with praising comments on how good bedtime manners the doctors have and how nice the office is. However Dr. Camp has been the only one who has been able to resolve my issues and he is the only one I keep seeing despite having moved from the city to the Peninsula. The treatment is usually a combination of adjustments and electrical muscle stimulation to relax the muscles. He doesn't accept health insurances but the prices are very reasonable and you get more than what you pay for. read more

I've been looking for help for my stiff upper back and neck, where my range of motion seemed to be worsening for seemingly trivial tasks (i.e. backing up my car with arm around passenger seat, ouch!). I kinda just wrote it off as "growing up" (aka middle age). I had a bad experience with a money-grubbing chiro a few years ago, so kinda wrote the whole profession off as a solution. Didn't want to overdo the Aleve/Advil either, but sometimes that's what it takes. Then, my sis told me about how much Dr. Camp basically changed her life with her back issues. I thought -- hm, my insurance still covers chiro a bit, why not give it one more try? Dr Camp did his initial diagnosis, then took a look at my x-rays. "A-ha!" He told me my neck is tilted forward, which meant that my back and shoulder muscles were working overtime to tilt my head back to balance itself. He thoroughly explained my course of treatment, which was supposed to be 2 months. Well! After about 3 weeks, I noticed that not only my range of motion has returned, but I started sleeping through the night, and waking up completely relaxed! I haven't had that in like 5 years! Totally unexpected. And now, 6 weeks in, I'm a total believer... Bottom line: Dr Camp is awesome! To boot, he's got this sense of humor that's ... "je ne sais quoi". Stick with the course of treatment, and your body will love you! Even if insurance doesn't cover you fully, Dr Camp will work with you and treat you right! read more

Dr. Camp is the best! I had chronic lower back pain for the last 14 years (from when I was 16 years old). It was really painful and uncomfortable so I got an MRA. I had 2 herniated discs on L3 and L4. I couldn't seat straight in school for longer than 3 minutes because of how painful it was. I was a very active person and played soccer and other sports so I tried everything: physical therapy, traction, acupuncture, yoga, massages and even other chiropractors, always with the same results. The pain would go down temporally for a few hours, maybe for a few days in the best cases but always came back. I lost hope and kept using massages and chiropractors when the pain was intolerable but no long term solutions for my problem. Last year I decided to change doctors and I found amazing reviews on Yelp for Dr. Camp so I gave him a try and made an investment. The plan he had for me was quite intensive (3 visits per week for about 2 months) but after 14 years of chronic pain I was ready to do something drastic to feel better. Results, results, results! After I was done with the 2 month plan, the pain was gone! I'm still surprised from time to time when I'm sitting in front of my computer or playing with my kids and I try to feel my back pain (it became part of me after 14 years) and it's just not there anymore! AMAZING. From time to time I do flare up when I go too crazy with my Capoeira training (specifically with acrobatics and take downs) but the pain goes away by itself in a day or 2. Not enough words to thank Dr. Camp for his help. He changed my life! I definitely recommend him if you suffer from chronic pain and you are ready to get rid of it! read more

The best part is he does a free alignment (hips down) before doing your mold. I had no idea I needed one and I feel amazing! My hips feel 5 years younger!! I have seen several chiropractors in SF over the years and non of them have compared to Dr. Camp. I spent thousands on traction at another place and I could no longer afford it. By chance, I noticed that Dr. Camp offers traction, when I 1st went to visit him. The price is all inclusive. He is through and results based, never up selling or demanding more time from you than you need. It is all up to the patient based on how they feel and what they are looking for. Have neck, lower back, knee, head, leg pain? Look no further. Dr Camp is the man who will fix you up real good. Having horrible posture for the past 7 years, I ventured out to Dr Camp to seek treatment. Frankly, I feel very lucky and honored to meet such a humble, generous, funny, and respectable doctor. Too many practitioners nowadays only care about what goes into their pockets and how many patients they can frantically cramp into their schedule. Dr Camp charges a very generous fee for quality care and treatment. If you think your spine is worth the quick $20 pop and grind, then by all means, go for it. If you place the slightest emphasis on your health, then go to this man. I have seen him a total of 10 times as of today and can testify the results. My job involves hours of working on the computer every day. By the end of the day, my neck was always very sore. I am one of those people who stored stress in their shoulders, and when it was really bad, I'd get headaches as well. Chiropractic always helped relieve the pain temporarily, but it would soon come back. I've tried many chiropractors over the years, with the same result. Then I heard about Dr. Camp. He told me about his program of short term high frequency visits designed to put the curve back into ones neck. I was a little skeptical at first but he explained the process very clearly, so I gave it a try. For the first time in years I am totally pain free! Dr. Camp toook "before" and "after" x-rays of my neck, where I could clearly see how the treatments had reshaped my neck. I am grateful to Dr. Camp, my quality of life is so much better without the recurrent headaches and neck pain. I was so pleased with Dr. Camp's assistance that I decided to finally join Yelp and write my first review. I had a bad ankle sprain that wasn't improving much at all over the course of about two weeks of standard sprain treatment (e.g., icing, elevating, compression, resting). My doctor's only advice was to basically wait it out...but, unfortunately, I couldn't wait around much longer. I had exciting travel plans coming up for which I actually needed to walk! So, based on the glowing reviews I read for Dr. Camp on Yelp, I decided to give him a try...even though most people don't think of going to a chiropractor for sprains. But you know what? He was excellent!!! He took the time to listen and understand how I got injured, thoroughly examined my ankle, explained what was going on, and...then pretty much fixed it by realigning an ankle joint. After my visit, I was able to walk, moving through my foot normally (as opposed to hop-limping around). I'm still on the road to full recovery, but I completely credit Dr. Camp's assistance with getting me there much more quickly. In a nutshell, I found Dr. Camp to be very professional, knowledgeable, and effective. He's also approachable, nice, and committed to his work. He even called me up a day or so after my appt to see how I was doing. Excellent service and follow-up. Totally recommended! read more

Doctor Camp is AMAZING!!! Very knowledgeable and professional! Dr. Camp doesn't just fix/adjust me, he takes the time to discuss my body and any areas I have that may be hurting. He also offers advice on preventative things I should do to help the areas that I have that are in pain. I first visited Dr. Camp because I had a lot of hip/hip-flexor pain with some slight discomfort in my lower back. Dr. Camp quickly found that my hip issues were due in part to a misalignment in my lower back. Dr. Camp explained the situation, adjusted my lower back and also suggested some great and easy workouts/stretches I can do at home to help develop muscles in my hip/back. I swear, Dr. Camp has made my body feel at least 10 years younger!! I never realized how much pain I was in until the pain went away. Not only does he have a really comfortable product, the way he customizes them for you is great. The last time he even refreshed an older pair I had with new added support. Highly recommend him. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Camp for quite a few years. The thing that makes him different than other chiropracters that i have been to is that he truly cares about his patients and wants them to get better. He doesn't rush me though my visit and really pays attention. My treatments are thorough and include adjustments like you'd expect from a Chiropractor and also some tissue work traction and electric stimulation. He really helped me through a rough patch in my life and even refered my to a great hand surgion. I would recommend him to anyone having back or neck pain issues. He also works with a lot of athletes so he works on ankles shoulders and feet too. read more
