Salesman Mike completely lied about working with the previous owners of the house and our neighbors to get us to join - as if we wouldn't investigate. Sent someone to our home during hours that were not agreed upon. Technician was smoking in our driveway. Avoid this company as it is a pyramid scheme using deceptive measures to get customers. read more

Like so many others I strongly advise not using EcoShield for any services. I have proof that I was charged for spraying that the tech did not do via my Ring camera, literally the guy says it is too cold out to spray and yet the same guy bills me $200 for it, he walked around the house and pretended to clean spider webs. I spoke multiple times with Veronica in Milwaukee area location and sent her the videos, they did not credit me and stopped responding!! Makes me believe they have never sprayed or did correctly. Lack of transparency, Customer Service was even worse! Approached by a door-to-door salesman, and luck would have it we were outside so couldn't avoid. We did have some ants and bees were awful this year, so we gave it a shot. Sold on a one-time treatment that didn't get clarified until when we were signing. Salesman (Dante) didn't mention any cancellation fee for canceling early, just text him if we see bugs come back and he'll send out a free treatment. Well...bees came back nearly immediately but wrote it off because of how the Summer had gone. Calling in got us a discount on the next service, but after all the hassle I called to cancel. Was finally clued in that it was $250 to cancel; clearly different than other reviews I've read as well as some of the treatment prices. Just goes to show it's not standardized, calling into question its legitimacy. It was already expensive, so it was an easy one to cut -- however when talking to Customer Service (Patrick), he talked over me and told me about HIS financial situation, so he gets it. Sure man, but that doesn't help us. Since it costs less to cancel than go through the final 3 treatments, it's a no brainer. I got my invoice, it says I have 30-45 days to pay -- sure enough I get a "Collection" call from Nicole asking if I got the invoice and was going to pay it. She offered to call me back in a month even after I told it would be paid by then. I'm not going to bother with photos and all that. Check the other reviews, they've done a much better job painting the picture. This is a bad investment and I'm thankful it only cost money for this lesson. read more

Salesperson claimed to sign me up for mosquito spray for the summer (the only pest I've ever paid a company to spray for), but when I called for a respray after having many mosquitos, they said I didn't have mosquito protection in my contract and only protection for other pests (which again, I have never had a problem with). Customer service on the phone is based in another country and when I went to the office, they said there was nothing they could do about it. They said I agreed to a contract and it was my fault for not canceling within 3 days. Read other reviews and see what it says about them on Better Business Bureau. They're liars, and if my review can prevent just one person from being scammed by them, I will be happy. read more

Door to door salesman approached me and we talked. I don't have issues with pests other than stink bugs. Told me how they would eliminate the stink bugs. Offered a price, I said no. Offered a lower price and said give him at least 2 treatments for a chance. Shame on me for not reading the 4 pages before signing. Stuck in a contract while they spray and my stink bugs doubled, if not tripled. I contacted in fall because of how bad and was told they aren't guaranteed and the warm temps made it worse. I said to cancel and no reply. I said to cancel again before a January spray. Nope they came and sprayed on the day it was -20 out ---- to kill bugs in -20 degrees? Then harass me daily to pay and then threats of collections. Stink bugs still a problem and now have a crazy amount of flies too. Don't want to deal with collections fight over my last 2 contract treatments. Thanks goodness this is my last month. So if you want your cities highest stink bug population to live with you, get these guys to spray. If you want to be locked down on a contract because you fall for a salesman's lies, sign it without reading it fully. If you want to be harassed and threatened because you don't want to pay for them spraying in -20 degree that you said no to, hire these guys. Otherwise my suggestion is to not use them and take that money you would have spent and use it all on Powerball - you'll have better chances of hitting the jackpot than getting rid of bugs. read more

I would not recommend this company. We have seldom been as disappointed in a service provider as we are in ecoshield. They appear to be a much better marketing company than they are in providing promised service. Their rodent control is a joke. When none of their traps produced any results I put out traditional mice traps and trapped 14 mice in a little over two weeks. The score is 14-0. When I called to get poison (successful with last pest company) I got no return promised call. They couldn't seem to get the automatic charge card debit right and threatened collections. One of the most disappointing commercial relationships I have had. read more

They are the worst companya to deal with. They try to force renewal. caught some of the techs walk around the house and leave. trying to get them to cancel is horrible. They are based out of Las Vegas. It's been a nightmare. They don't do a thorough job, then when I tried to cancel the contract because they didn't do a good job and had lots of bug activity, they try to charge you a bunch of cancellation fees. Your paying above $800.00 for this service PER year. Imagine what you can do with that money just buying stuff from Home depot and applying pest solutions yourself. These people come door to door and harass and scam advertise. Lessoned learned, these services revolves around contract. The sales person comes and tells you it would cost $xxx.xx for the whole year but they actually charge you every single time they come out for that whole year. Don't get deceived thinking your helping a young kid out working hard going door to door because your helping a kid out for mosquito repellent in your yard... You are now stuck with this auto services. They charged me cancellation fee, and i refused to take any discount they offer me for the whole year because of bad advertisement, and no one likes being lied too. read more

Had a rep ring my doorbell and I spoke with him via Ring cam. Started off friendly, but then bashed my current insect control company, didn't have a business card, and said his truck was in the area, but no truck was visible. He asked if I was home, and I told him I was unable to come to the door. He wouldn't take no for an answer, so I finally just had to stop talking and he walked off into the neighborhood. Do not use this company. I signed a contract to have an outdoor and indoor treatment done, to be followed by other treatments spread out over several months. Per their contract, I had 3 business days to cancel the contract. However, without prior notice to me, they came to my home and performed the first treatment on the very first of the 3 business days. Therefore, I had no opportunity to cancel the contract without incurring a financial penalty, which -- as of this writing -- they are still insisting I must pay. In addition, when they did come out, they did not perform the indoor treatment, as promised (because, without being notified in advance, I was not home when they came), so, in this case, I paid for a full initial treatment but only got half of it. Subsequent emails to the company, and phone calls, have gone unanswered. I've had to call them several times, and always get, not anyone from the local office, a "service" representative from out of the U.S. I'm still awaiting a response from them, after two weeks of haggling. Update: They finally agreed to waive the cancellation penalty. Good news. read more

We had pest noises in the attic last August. I called ecoshield and they came out and told me it would cost $17,000 to redo attic insulation and do exclusion services on the home. I paid them in full and they did the work. I also signed up for the quarterly pest services which is $209 every quarter. However, we continue to have pests in the home and empty bait stations outside. When they came out to do the quarterly pest services they completely forgot to fill the mice bait stations. Then they came back and only put one piece of bait in them. I told them we used to have another pest service that would put 8 pieces of bait in there every month. When I call and ask to speak with managers they just argue with me and say "our technicians are licensed and know how much bait to use." But at the end of the day I paid $17,000 and $209 every 3 months and our bait stations are empty and we have pest noises in the home. I told them I wanted to just cancel my services because they keep brushing me off - and they said I'd owe another $209 for cancellation fee!! Avoid this company at all costs - critter control did a much better job for us and didn't constantly argue with us or give excuses like "our technicians can't go on ladders." If you just need your house dusted for stink bugs, ecoshield can do it. But if you have any real pest problems, I would avoid this company at all costs. We will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. read more
