After nearly a year of searching for the right iron gate company in Simi Valley, we were fortunate to find Jesse from Economic Fence while they were working in our neighborhood. We hired them to restore and repaint our outdoor iron gates, which had become worn, rusted, and were falling apart. The entire project was completed in less than four days, and the quality of the workmanship exceeded our expectations. The gates look absolutely immaculate, and the attention to detail was outstanding. Jesse and his team were professional, honest, reliable, and communicative throughout the entire process. They delivered exactly what they promised, and the finished product speaks for itself. We are extremely satisfied with the results and truly grateful to have found such an exceptional company. We would not hesitate to hire Economic Fence again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality ironwork and outstanding customer service. read more

Economic Fence - Refurbished Iron Gate - Fences & Gates Near Me - Simi Valley, California

I hired this father/son team to install a gate and a fence...they installed the gate but they went on vacation for a month and were difficult to reschedule. They have been paid and refuse to refund. I would not trust this company. The son seems unstable...the father Herbie is very nice and very experienced but beware because he seems to be retiring and leaving the business to someone not good to deal with and not sure of his skills. read more

We have a large property on a hill with many steep areas that if you, or your grandchildren were to fall off, would not be a good thing. We are thankful we found Herbert and his company. We began with fencing to enclose the backyard play area and within one year, we now have enclosed the entire property to safe guard our kiddos. Herbert also did a lovely handrail for our outdoor stairs. Not only does Economic Fence provide beautiful and creative fencing, they do clean work and worked along side us to create what we envisioned. Their prices are fair and above all, Herbert is honest. That is possibly a rare quality these days. I can't recommend this company enough. Be smart. Give them a call. read more

Great quality, fair pricing, and fast service. I called and spoke to Herbie who came out the same day to give me a quote. He was professional and personable. I got the quote and decided within 24 hours that we were going with Economic Fence. Best decision. They came less than a week later since our fence had fallen over during bad winds, and installed the new fence within 2 days. The quality is great and looking forward to having Herbie stain it for us too in the coming weeks. read more

I had vinyl fencing built around my backyard approximately 10 years ago, and it is still standing and sturdy, just like the first day. Herbert was approachable and open to any ideas I may have brought up and took them into consideration without making you feel uncomfortable. My fence was complete in a reasonable amount of time. No mess, no clean-up. He and his son are very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend Herbert, Economic Fence to family and friends. read more

Herbert does amazing work. My rod iron gates are beautiful. He is very nice! Highly recommend him and workers.

If I could give this company -5 stars I would. It didn't start out that way. I was referred to Jesse by a friend at work. He came out the day I called him. Jesse was nice at first and was obliged to fix one of my wrought iron gates that kept getting stuck and jamming when it closed. After Jesse fixed it, it did work for about a day. After two days, though, it was getting stuck again. Jesse said it was impossible, but would come out to look at it and fix it. He thought I did it on purpose and asked who came through my gate (which no one did) and basically called me a liar. Several days later, the door got stuck again. The same problem had to be fixed at least three times, where I was charge more than once. Jesse looked at my other entrance gate (which I do admit was over 20 years old and a bit rusty) and said he could fix that gate and would give me a decent price for it. The door for that gate also had a little trouble in closing, but wasn't nearly as bad as the other one. The only problem with that gate was that it was old and rusty. It didn't have any problems with malfunctioning. Jesse basically replaced all the parts and when he supposedly measured that area, put new parts in completely crooked. There now is a diagonal gap where the two parts meet vertically, and a huge crooked gap at the bottom going across. The side wrought iron fence at the top isn't level as well. The old gate I had was old and rusty granted, but it was level. When I told Jesse, he said all he was there for was to make a repair, not to put in a new fence. Which is exactly what he did. All I wanted was a repair or a fix for the bottom part. And what Jesse did was he put in replacement parts which are now not at all straight and there's a huge gap at the bottom. There was also a part at the bottom toward my retaining wall that had made that gate more secure at the base and Jesse basically threw that part away and didn't put a part in to replace it. The price he charged me for doing the job wasn't that bad, but now it's going to cost me more than 5 times the amount to get it fixed since it wasn't done right. I even showed pictures of the end product of the gate to another contractor and he even said it was poorly designed and installed, obviously measured incorrectly, and not at all level. read more

Working with Herbie was a delight! I showed him a picture of a gate that I liked and he engineered it for me and it looks even better than the picture I had shown him. Herbie and his son, Jessie, and their crew just installed our new gate and I LOVE IT!!! They also created a fence for the side of the house and I had purchased an expandable trellis with greenery that they installed. It looks great! I would highly recommend Herbie and his son, Jessie. I wanted a electric gate operator installed on my 16 foot rolling gate but had a hard time finding someone willing to do the job because the job was too small. I was referred to Economic Fence Company of Simi Valley who agreed to help me out. Herbert, the owner, came to my house and gave me a great price to do the work. After finding the proper sized operator, Herbert installed the machine in a prompt, expert manner. I did not understand how difficult this job was to perform until I watch the process. Herbert fabricated many parts necessary to accommodate the installation and it came together beautifully. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone. Herbie and his crew were awesome. True professionals. I hired them to install a metal fence and gate on both sides of my house. They gave me a really good price and delivered a great final product. Herbie gave me a fair quote on fixing my fence that had fallen in the heavy winds we got recently in Simi, it had completely snapped the original posts holding the fence up. He came by and was able to quickly install these supporting posts and re-concrete so the fence is back to great shape. I would definitely use him again in the future. read more

On the very first day of the job, Jesse, Herbie's son, decided that he needed and "early lunch" at 10:25 and never showed up for the job. I waited an hour and a half for him at our rental property and when I finally got a hold of him at 11:45, letting him know that I was going to hire another company to do the job, he asked me if I was having a bad day. He went from blaming, to begging, to giving every excuse an irresponsible kid can give. It was pitiful. I have no idea if Jesse is capable of doing a good job at repairing fences, but he certainly cannot be counted on to follow through on his word. read more

After several unwanted visits by coyotes, we hired Economic Fence to add two feet of height (now seven feet tall) to our chain link fence and top with coyote rollers. I'm so happy with the work that Herbie and his team did on my fence! I had to have additional fencing installed to match an old fence that was installed at the house years ago. After getting several quotes, I went with Herbie for the detailed estimate of work, design layout, and reasonable price. Herbie matched the existing fence and installed additional wooden gates at my property. There was so much care and quality that went into all his work. It's increased the curb appeal of my property for sure. Overall I am so happy and would definitely recommend Herbie and his guys! read more

We needed our horse fencing replaced and Economic Fence is a recommended vendor for our neighborhood (Bridle Path). Herbie and Jesse gave us a fair quote and also some great ideas for how to build and run the fence. The end product is beautiful and will last far beyond our time in this house. Quality workmanship, friendly crew, and really nice knowledgeable owners are some of the descriptions I would use for this company. They didn't cut any corners -- the safety of our horses was first and foremost for them. Thank you Herbie and Jesse - I would highly recommend you! read more

I needed a back yard fence and the gate replaced. Herbie came out, took measurements and promised to get back to me within a few days with an estimate. And then he disappeared. No estimate, no response calls or emails. I can understand if you are busy or if you don't want or can't take the project for some other reason. But be upfront about it and tell me. Don't assure me that you will research the materials prices and disappear. This kind of behavior is just unprofessional. I suppose I should be grateful the disappearing act happened before the project started and not in the middle of it. read more

Once again received superb service from Economic Fence!! Herbie, the owner repaired one of my gates. My existing fence was wedged against the gate. He repaired issue. In addition, he closed a gap between the fence and gate with a piece of scrap wood he had in his truck. He took the extra time to do this added repair. I will continue to use him over and over again. Thanks!! read more

Herbie and his crew were great to work with from beginning to end. They did a nice job repairing, moving and painting our pool fence and gate. Everyone was courteous and left the job site absolutely clean. read more

Herbie is very friendly, easy to work with, honest, and he does excellent work! I highly recommend Herbie and Economic Fence.

We received a few quotes and decided to have Economic Fence do the work as Herbie's price was the best and he seemed enthusiastic to do the work. He was able to start fairly soon after the estimate. Our job consisted of several wrought iron fence posts that needed to be replaced due to disintegration, once repaired the fence was then painted. We also had to have some ornamental welding done on a damaged wrought iron arbor which now looks like new. Economic Fence worked efficiently, expertly and at a reasonable cost. We would use them again. read more

During a time of high wind, our gate was blown apart. My wife and I decided to quote a few professional gate / fence services. We selected Economic Fence, as not only was there price competitive, but also on the personality of the owner(Herbie). Herbie listened to what we envisioned our new gate would look like. He also provided us with several pictures of some of his work. Herbie is like an artist in gate fabrication. He blew away our expectations of what we had envisioned our new gate would look like. We would highly recommend Herbie and his company (Economic Fence)to anyone interested in replacing an old worn down fence or gate. Herbie's workmanship and personality are worth every penny we spent. Take a look at the picture of our new gate...WOW!! Thank you Herbie, we love it!! read more

A twenty year old wrought iron pool fence was rusted out in 4 places . Herbie and his two man team cut out the rusted parts, welded in new, sanded, primed and painted the entire 75 foot fence. It looks like new again. Herbie and team performed perfectly - They were very punctual, professional and they had great pride in their work. They masked before painting so there was no mess.I would welcome any potential customer to ask Herbie for my telephone number and address to see his work. I will happily recommend them. Phenomenal work and very professional service at a reasonable price. Glad I found them on Yelp.

Economic Fence did an outstanding job repairing, repainting, and EVEN repositioning our fence! Herbie and his team were wonderful to work with from the initial estimate (which was very reasonable) all the way through to the completion of the job. This was for a job in our backyard after recent fires damaged an old and creaky fence. Herbie and his team restored it to "like new" condition. For me, whenever I look to get work done on something like this I don't want to choose a company that cuts corners so I do my research. In this case, I came across Economic Fence and was very impressed with the reviews. At first, the name was a bit of a concern because I thought the company might be named "Economic" because they used less than the best materials. This was NOT the case with Herbert Zelaya and Economic Fence! Herbie and his team took an old, outdated fence and went to work cutting, welding, restoring posts, painting, etc -- and in the end, the fence really does look brand new and is very strong and substantial in all areas. After the work was done, my wife even asked if they would add an additional post that wasn't even part of the original fence and they quickly welded and customized another rail at no additional charge. I rarely post a review on Yelp but when I come across a tradesman who truly does go the extra mile and does quality work at a very fair price, I am happy to share my experience because I really do want good people of integrity to succeed. In this case, I can only say that Economic Fence exceeded every expectation and, it wasn't only Herbie who was actively involved in working and coordinating the job -- it was everyone on his team who all were friendly, professional, worked as a team and got the job done as promised! read more

I can't speak highly enough about this company.
