The breakfast was good and everything was fresh up to the time of closing the breakfast area. The eating area was very clean and there was always someone making sure the area was neat and clean. I would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express for any travelers in the Kansas / Colorado Boarder area

Advised the front desk attendant on 5-23-25 at approximately 9pm, which was the initial date of our reservation, that we needed to check out. Front desk agent asked if needed a receipt which I declined. Thought that I was dealing with a reputable international organization and did not feel a receipt was necessary. We didn't even stay the initial night. There was plenty of time for the hotel to sell the room on a busy holiday weekend. Do not believe that we should have been charged for the 2nd night of the reservation. I have traveled for business for many years and never had an issue if it was necessary to check out early. The manager had no intention of being understanding of the situation, lacked any customer service skill and was not concerned with reputation of the hotel or brand.

The manager on duty at the time, Crystal (who was the one good thing about this place), supposedly issued me a refund after I found several bed bugs on the bedsheets and the bathroom sink pipes leaked all over the floor. I was originally booked in a different room, but an employee had left a giant bag of trash in the room and it smelled terrible, so Crystal switched my room. I emailed Sam Malik, the general manager listed on the printout Crystal gave me before I left and never received a response. I just called on 9/8/21 at 3:30pmCST and was told by the extremely rude person (male) over the phone that I haven't gotten a response to my email because "Sam never gives refunds." He asked why I wanted a refund in the first place so I told him about the bed bugs and the sink plumbing leaking all over the floor to which he responded "I doubt that." I then asked for his name and he hung up on me.

First of all, you don't even need a key to get in the building so anyone can walk in off the streets, there's wood along some of the windows instead of it being replaced, and the smell of stale smoke and god only knows whatever else is pungent. The room itself was horrendous. The carpets were stained, the couch looked like it was picked up from the streets, and I 100% found a few long hairs in my bed and one of the pillows looked like someone had just slept in it. When I checked out the employee helping me didn't apologize and acted as if I was an inconvenience. He asked for the last four of my card and said, "you've been refunded" before walking away. I didn't get a receipt and he for sure didn't refund me. Had I not been on a time crunch to get cross country I would have gone back to speak to them in person. Worst experience ever.
