My family and I are staying at the motel 6 in good land ks. This is one of the worst motels I have ever stayed at. Bed bugs, tv, doesn't work right.. turn the volume up or down and the tv stops working. Wifi, goes in and out. Shower is discussting. I wouldn't even use. I will never stay her again. read more

First room we had was not cleaned. Second room was not as bad but still bad. Beds are extremely old and not comfy. Showers had black mold and smelled terrible. No smoke alarm. Pool has been filled in for at least a few years. Room was dirty. They were hiring for housekeeping, maintenance and front desk. TV was disconnected and looked to be not working at all. My room was well maintained & clean. But, your stay is only as good as your neighbors will allow. The night I stayed, it was hillbilly haven. 3 screaming kids nextdoor constantly kicking the walls, 2 pitbulls & a puppy pitbull off-leash (different owners for all) trying to get into my room as I entered & exited my door, moms sans teeth, dads taking up 8 parking spaces (yeah, 8) fixing their trailers in the parking lot. It's only $52/nt, including tax, so this isn't going to be a pleasant stay for most, due to the drug induced & bottom of the barrel clientele, 5 of them stuffed into each room, & who like to leave their doors wide open to congregate outside of the room for conversations. My a/c in Rm 117 barely cooled off the room, even at night (I left a note for Maintenance), my sheets had small blood stains on them, water takes 10-min of running before it heats up, even in the sink & the wild kids next door began screaming outside my room with their 2 off-leash pitbulls at 8am... too bad, cuz if it weren't for all the above, I'd have stayed another night, given the low cost, cuz I really did need 1-day off road. Front desk staff was nice, but scatter brained. Her answer to several q's, like "Is a room ready?" was "I don't know" & that's it, so I had to ask if she could find out. Firm bed, clean room. For those who don't travel a lot, as I do, all the above is the norm for cheap motels. Good for overnight only, unless you're driving cross country with a pile of kids & pitbulls... in which case, you'll love it! 2-1/2* out of 5. My 1st room had globs of black hair all over the shower. Asked for a new room and got it but even worse. The biggest cockroach in the corner just sitting there. I asked for a refund it took Annie 15 mins to get that done only to tell me that I would not get a cancellation receipt just a refund. So I guess we will see. After meeting a nice gentleman (whom was the manager) at the front desk with my reservation. I had told him of my bad experiences at previous motel 6. I was in hope things would inprove. Heading to our room I find our door was busted and didn't even lock and the "digital box hanging on the wall". My wife having years of experience at another chain I understood some of how things that go on and I was very disappointed in his response about how he hadn't been inspecting things. He did offer a half price which I agreed to and of course another room, and he did check the room out unaware of how things are. I find they need a better system and work on their management. Personally till things are improved I recommend against here. read more

Arrived pretty late tonight, and seemingly they can't get their tools out or finish repairs by mid night as my entire ac unit is torn apart as well as their ladder and Wd-40 still out in our room. How is this considered safe and presentable? Shame on these owners for not finishing their repairs in a timely manner or giving us a different room without hazards throughout the main entrance. I feel a lawsuit may be in their near future of the continue this practice. Tl;dr - repairs happening in rooms, but not completed before guests arrive. Lawsuit coming. Don't stay here. read more

Did I ever dream I'd give a Motel 6 a 5 star review?! Nooooo ... However ... I called ahead a couple hours outside of town to check on availability and was greeted by a friendly voice. When I got there, I was given a reasonable price (compared to the rest of my trip). My room was remodeled and clean, not the Ritz, but nicer than most low budget places I've stayed in. I have to agree with another reviewer, that it appeared a bit like a Hillbilly Haven. There were a lot of people partying outside on the balcony above. I thought to myself OMG, will I be able to sleep? However, everyone turned in before midnight and it was a pleasant stay. I reccomend it for the budget conscious. I wish I would have asked for a refund. The staff were very nice and I was happy they are dog-friendly, but I got a terrible night's sleep. When I turned down the sheets, I noticed they were not clean and there was a lot of hair there. So I asked the front desk for a clean set, which they did accommodate, but there was no real apology. There were also about 6 flies constantly buzzing around my small room the ENTIRE night. They kept landing on my face and I couldn't sleep. Also, there was a large dead bug on the floor. Gross. There were also no facial tissues in the bathroom, which I consider to be a basic amenity. No coffee maker in the room, no continental breakfast. I honestly considered leaving in the middle of the night and finding another place to stay. read more

This is another wonderful stay at the Motel 6. I had a little trouble with the mini fridge but I got another on within minutes of saying something. I love staying here because I'm close to food, gas stations, and Wal-Mart (if I desire a walk). The Wi-Fi is easy to get on. My room is always clean and comfortable. They only have coffee in the morning but I always bring my own or I go to Wal-Mart. There is even enough grass to walk my dog when she needs to pee, and she's free to stay (which is another reason why I stay here). The staff is also courteous regardless of the time I roll in. This is the hotel I'll always stay at when I come to Goodland. read more

Low low budget motel. Clean, though. May be the smallest motel room I've ever stayed in, with a small hard double sized bed. Did not see a good place to run our dogs- the median outside of the motel was covered in goat spurs (those crazy sharp painful little seed pods) which embedded themselves into my dog's paws until he couldn't walk... Would be nice if there was a dog friendly grassy area somewhere close. Not the best motel we've stayed at but it is cheap, the owner seems very nice, and it's clean. We always look for motel 6 because they are reliably dog friendly. This one, though it allows pets, is the first one we've seen without a place for the dogs to run safely. It was very hot and we had to open a window to stay cool enough (it's the end of October!). read more

I originally planned to stop 30 mins sooner along 70 W but I was enticed by the no pet fee because I'm traveling with two dogs. I now wish I had paid a bit more. The room smells awful. I brought in my febreeze and even some scented tea light candles to try and help but the stench must be in the walls. I was surprised to find the room has a folding table for a desk but was not surprised that the bathroom looked like it had a leak somewhere and that the sink stopper was broken. If we were spending more than 12 hours in the room we would have switched but it didn't seem worth it for a draining sink and the possibility of less smell. The best thing about the room is a clean mini fridge and a mounted tv. I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone. I will say the man working the front fesk was nice and they offer a military discount. read more

Made a reservation here based on price. Won't do that again. Not sure what kind of area this is in Goodland, but I should have taken off as soon as I saw this place. I parked out front and there were some shady characters hanging out there and when I went to check in, the clerk looked pretty shady himself. Gave us a room near the back, which was obviously being renovated. The stairs were falling apart and there was evidence of a "CAUTION" tape being there, but it had been ripped down. No elevator was present. When we got to the room, the door wouldn't lock all the way! WTF?? Wouldn't stay here again till the renovations were completed. read more

We had a great stay that exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and modern, and comfortable. No charge for our cats. The only issue was a lack of hot water at 10:30 at night. To be honest, we didn't expect much from a budget motel, but for the price, this was great. We would recommend this motel to friends and stay again. read more

If it was possible to give negative stars, I would give this motel -5...simply because of the management. I have NEVER in my life talked to people this rude! I use the term "talked" in a very general term. After I called ahead to ensure they had availability, which I was assured they did, I drove an hour and a half to get there. Upon my arrival, the managers couldn't be bothered to even come to the window. And when I called they hung up on me several times! When the "manager/owner" finally got on the phone the first thing he said to me was "stop bothering us"....and after I told him I was just trying to get a room for the night he started yelling at me to leave him alone. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!? That was the most disrespectful and rude thing anyone has ever done to me...they couldn't be bothered to talk to me like a human being! I went right next door to the super 8 motel and found out that he has done horrible things to other customers in the past. Save your time and money. DO NOT GO TO THE MOTEL 6!!!!! EVER!!! This is a review of motel 6 customer service in general as we didn't end up staying here. I made a reservation at about 9pm, then thought I'd better check the reviews, then immediately called to cancel , maybe 5 minutes later. Website would not let me cancel because it was 'after the cutoff time." When I asked how I could cancel a reservation made at 9pm before the 6pm cutoff, he just said, "Our policies are very clear," and suggested I call the hotel direct. Phone at the hotel rang 10+ times; no answer; no voice mail (at a hotel at 9pm??). I've sent an email to M6 requesting that they cancel and not charge me. Will definitely be contesting any charges made. Will update here if M6 customer service steps up and fixes this. read more

So, after looking for pet friendly hotels in Goodland KS on bringfido.com. I found that Motel 6 is the most pet friendly hotel chain and do not even require a pet deposit. When I arrive here and ask for a room letting the gentleman behind the desk know that I have 2 dogs, he asks me how much they weigh. I reply they both weigh about 50 lbs, and he replies he only allows dogs under 35 lbs. I responded by asking, I thought you guys were a very pet friendly chain? He quickly responds in a very rude manner (assuming everybody that checks in at a hotel after 10pm is some kind of dead beat loser) "well I make my own policies". I respond by saying he doesn't have to be an a$$hole about it and decided right then and there to turn around and leave because of his attitude, and the guy chases me out the door, threatens me, and tells me to go F my mother, seriously. One of worest motels I've ever stayed at 60$ no heater in the room hosts' were rude when we asked for more than two towels. Room was horrible. Lesson learned you get what you pay for. Wtf was I thinking. I've had way better experiences in motel sixes than this one. I pray no one else makes the quick motel decision to stay here like we did. Ugh, only up side dogs could stay here but then again I've stayed in way nice let friendly hotels/motels. read more
