Not bad if you don't mind disgusting accommodations and dishonest employees. We arrived on 06/18/2026 and Millie (at the front desk) was very nice when she checked me in. But after we saw the room and wanted a refund... not so nice. The photos show what this room was about (even though we didn't take that many photos). Stained/dirty bedding and shower curtain, and deteriorated blankets. It's too bad because the bed was very comfortable. When I asked Millie for a refund, she refused, so we went across the freeway to the Best Western Plus, where we've stayed before (and I kick myself for not going there first this time). After we checked in at the Best Western, Millie calls me (which showed up on my phone as a Joplin, Missouri phone number), and tells me that because the charge was through Expedia, I have to cancel the reservation through them and then she would reverse the charges. She said she would have told me that, but I left too quickly? That seemed hard to believe, and it proved untrue when, after I did cancel the reservations through Expedia, I thought I'd wait for the charges to be reversed on our credit card. After waiting 11 days and seeing no credit, I called the Millie at the Burlington, CO number and she said that because the reservation was not cancelled in advance, there won't be a refund. Why in the world would she tell me to cancel through Expedia if she never intended on refunding the money? All I can chalk it up to is dishonesty. I then tried to dispute the charges with my credit card company, but since I had signed the paperwork at Chaparral Motor Inn, all they had to do is show that to my credit card company and the dispute was halted. My advice (other than to steer clear of Chaparral Motor Inn) is to NOT use Expedia (or any other third party company), and to ask to view the room before signing anything. That may allow for a reversal of credit card charges, but it's not guaranteed. read more

What a great find near the state line! I was on a long journey from Kansas City to Colorado Springs and needed to stop and rest for the night. I booked this place on hotels.com on short notice, after midnight. They couldn't of been nicer or more accommodating. The room was clean and fresh smelling, the bed was comfortable, and one of the best showers I've ever had! They do have a Tesla charger you can use for a fee, which is wonderful because it's pretty sparse out here. The closest super chargers are Goodland or Limon. read more

Small business done right! This place seems to get a lot of 4 star ratings, but I think that is over selling it. The weather turned so I found a spot.. a good one. It's obvious the guy at the front desk either owns this Inn or is related to someone who does. Not only did he show obvious care, but also pride in his establishment. The room is unexpectedly nice. It's no Ritz, But for a random Inn in a small town off the highway, this a gem. Unique decor, and obvious attention to detail have gone into this place. The details are right. I think they are remodeling "as able", because the Bath is not as nice as the rest of the room. And to be honest, I think it is obvious that the walls were painted by hand, but that is what makes this place worth the stop! The obvious care and attention to detail make it a gem! I included lots of pictures, but bottom line, don't go with a franchise run by an employee staff, stay where the owner is the operator, and he cares! I stayed at a 4 star hotel last night, and it was surprising to me that the towels weren't folded like ducks or something. Here, the extra mile had been undertaken. We needed a place to sleep as we traveled from the Midwest to the Southwest and very happy we selected this motor inn. We called ahead (about 4 hours prior to arrival) for a reservation and glad we did because we got the last room. Check in was quick which was nice as it late and we were tired. The rooms are plain however the beds were comfortable and the towels fluffy. Our shower didn't drain quickly enough and the water built up around my ankles. This is the main reason I didn't give a 5 star rating. This is a no frills place where you can get a good nights sleep as you drive across our beautiful country. I will return. read more

A great place to stay for the money during a hunting trip, or passing thru on the eastern plains of Colorado. The beds were comfortable and free wifi worked well. While we were up before sunrise, the view from the moon (blackout shade) was an interesting touch. My only critique would be that they didn't shovel the snow from pathways to the rooms and the packed down snow made for a tricky walk to and from the truck. The staff was very friendly and personable. Don't let the grizzly scare you off this gem if you need a place to den up during your travels. read more

We had a wonderful night staying at this quiet and delightful Inn. It was clean, comfortable and the bed was perfect! They are in the process of up grading and the huge lighted mirror over the sink is fabulous!! My only wish was a bit more parking lot light. I stay in Burlington a lot, but before now never here. And here never again. The morning after the one night I spent there, before checking out, I went to take a shower. The nozzle to turn the shower water on came out of the wall! I managed to bathe without the shower, even as water, along with some unknown material from inside the wall, had poured in through the gap. When I went to complain before checking out, the worker asked if I had pulled it out myself when turning it on. I said, you know what, I'm 59 years old and have a hard time opening pickle jars these days, how could I have done that? He said he saw the logic of that (assuming it was competently constructed and tended to) would call the manager, and see if any of what I had paid for a room that, you know, included a working shower would be refunded when it turned out I didn't get that. He had my number, and said he would call. Now that a day has passed, that call never came, and the charge has been posted to my credit card, I am writing this. If you fail to deliver what a reasonable customer should expect, you should not insist on taking the money anyway. That is completely dishonest. Lots of motels in Burlington, avoid at all costs. read more

It's a good little inn for a small town. Seems like they were trying their best to keep this venue clean and looking nice. Our room was nice and clean enough. I like that they also include a note for feedback (good or bad) for them to read. That tells me they want to improve what needs to be improved. A for effort. The owner is nice and friendly, too. We were checking out at 4am (yep, so early!) I walked in to the front door to drop off our keys, and this guy just walks out of the door from the inside, obvious that he'd just woken up. This hotel was such a surprise. Unassuming on the outside but delightful on the inside. We were blown away. Everything was tasteful. The towels were so fluffy. The TV was large and even the channels offered were great, even has CNBC! Quiet. Even the air conditioner was extremely quite. Attention to detail was awesome. The block out shade, when pulled down had the iconic picture of the earth from the moon. And the decor was a relief from all the flowery taupe and rose color schemes I'm used to. read more

This motel is not much to look at as you drive up and that might keep some people away. However, after reading numerous reviews and considering the price, we decided to give it a shot. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. The rooms are not fancy but you can tell care has been put into making the design pleasing. The paint is chipped in places and the linoleum is scuffed and scarred but the carpet is clean, as well as the toilet, bathtub, etc. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean and soft. This motel met our requirement for being clean, comfortable and safe. We would definitely stay a second time if we find ourselves in Burlington again. read more

We booked our room on Hotels.com to gain more points towards a free room. But after comparing prices with priceline.com, we will probably get our free room and then delete the app. That is, delete the Hotels.com app and just stick with priceline.com or Booking.com. When we arrived we were given the key to room 210 and checked in. We slept in soft beds without our pillows because the pillows were so firm. But the beds were really soft which is something I'm not used to but nothing to complain about. When we took our showers this morning one thing I notice is water pressure. This room had outstanding water pressure! After our showers we made coffee and packed up and left. We would stay here again. Especially with that $55 price point. Due to COVID-19 there was no breakfast but at least the ice machine was available. read more

BED BUGS!!!! My husband along with three of his coworkers checked into this hotel last night. The duration of their stay was supposed to be 11 days. But after they got all their luggage into their rooms and finally sat down for a moment after working 12 hour days they were meet with BED BUGS! So freaking disgusting. The pictures of this place do not match how nasty it is. The head boards were wood with duct tape, that was their idea of modern. This place is definitely rough-looking from the outside, but super clean and comfortable on the inside. The man behind the counter was very friendly, until he began to insist that he give us two beds. We politely declined, 1 bed was fine as we are a couple and that's what we paid for, and he continued to insist that it would make us more happy? Again we said no thank you. Yet he still scratched out the number on our keycard and wrote a new one. I thought maybe he was changing it back to our one bed, but when I opened the door to our room it, of course, had two beds. This has never happened to us before, and I definitely won't be coming back because of how uncomfortable this man's assumptions made us. read more

This is an older motel that is a steal on this stretch of I-70. We had been driving a long way that day and were looking for hotels along the way. I wanted something cheaper than the $110 rooms being offered by the chains in the Goodland, KS to Limon, CO area but didn't want to skimp on safety or cleanliness. Enter this motel. The woman working the desk was friendly, the room and bathroom were spotless, and the motel felt safe. It faces a Denny's on one side which can get loud depending on how many trucks are coming and going, so if that bothers you I think you could ask for a room on the opposite facing side. Safety is important to many of us females, and my mom and I are no exception. I'm pleased to report that I felt safe here. We did see some truckers having an argument in the Denny's parking lot, but it was contained and that parking lot is pretty far away. The mattress was very comfortable and the towels were also of good quality. Decorations and furnishings are quite sparse, but it's a fine place, especially considering the price. There is a small continental breakfast provided in the mornings. Overall a good place to stay in my opinion. Half the cost of the chains in the area, clean, safe, and fine in quality. read more

We had a comfortable clean room here for a good price of $59 including breakfast with a waffle maker, etc. The owner was nice and we were able to get some much needed rest here while traveling home from a two week road trip to the Rocky Mountains. We had a room with two queen sized beds and lots of clean white towels and wash cloths as well as shampoo, soap and lotion and a make up remover towelette. The room had a coffee pot and mini refrigerator and flat screen t.v. (But no hair dryer) We had a good stay here and would recommend this motel. read more

But was kept pristine and super clean. Wow!!! Is managed by different people and Is horribly dirty and falling apart. Hair in the bathtub. Mold in the bathroom. Dirty on the floor around the bed. Towel rack fallen and on the closet shelf. The breakfast is sad and pathetic. Coffee was watered-down like tea... Had to ask them to make a new batch. Friendly people... My first impression of this motel was that the parking lot is crumbling to pieces, a pile of mattresses next to the dumpster in the parking lot, and the building is in rough shape on the outside. The gentleman running the desk who checked me in made me feel like my being there was inconvenient to him. I was finally somewhat impressed when I walked into the room, there was a funky smell, but it seemed clean and looked as though some effort was at least being made to remodel and modernize. This impression did not last very long, however, because as soon as I plopped down on the bed after driving all day, come to find out the mattress is hard as a rock. Yet, there is a fancy mirror in the bathroom with a built in light and all the furniture looks to be no more than a couple years old. I would have been more than ok with a conventional mirror and some dated furniture if it at least meant having a comfortable mattress and getting better sleep than I got, since I still had another full day of driving ahead of me. The owner(s) need a bit of a priority check on some things, but I suppose that for $45/night, I got what I paid for. read more

They offer an excellent selection of breakfast food, a big ice bin, filtered water, and it's just off the interstate. It's not fancy but it's affordable and really quality for the price. Wonderful, very clean motel with updated decor including mirrors with lights with different brightness settings. Bedding was very comfortable. I left my iPad and the owner and staff were so kind to go out of their way to keep it safe and mail it to me once I had arrived home after travels.
