got stranded in dalhart because our car broke down going from lubbock tx to denver colorado. had to find a hotel to stay in while the car was in a shop overnight. upon arriving the lady at the front desk said they don't allow anybody who is from texas to stay at their hotel. when i asked why and if that was written anywhere for me to see the policy she said no, and immediately said we had to leave right away and proceeded to push us out the door read more

First we were put into smoking room that had the smoke detectors removed. Asked for a new room and the air conditioner didn't work. So far in third room no coffee maker, no hangers. Too tired to find another motel. read more

While the room was mainly clean, problems made our stay very unpleasant. The room description when I booked said a washer and dryer were in the room. Nope, no such thing in any room there. I checked in, and found the door to our room (no inside corridor here) open. Inside I saw about 30 flies. Back to the front desk I went, was told there was no other room available, but a housekeeper with a can of Raid came and sprayed, killing about 29 flies. It was late, we were tired, so we stayed instead of walking out. For the next three hours I killed about 35 more flies. We were very disappointed, and the manager was present for each of my visits to the office, and not once offered any remediation or compensation. read more

Very nice man checked us two and dog into room (after verifying allowed +$10) to a nicely clean room, cold A/C, comfortable beds, micro and small fridge, toiletries, hot water instantly in shower. Yes it's not the best location, heard the train whistle but it lasted thirty seconds and then silence at about 8am on a Friday morning. We missed the Continental breakfast (with a waffle maker) since we slept in, but he found a honey bun and apple juice for us on our way east. Nice guy! read more

Budget travel is fraught with perils. You never know what you are going to get. The first thing I got was a friendly, happy man, who greeted me warmly and checked me in quickly. There's a little breakfast area next to the front desk. It was small, but bright and clean. The next thing I got was a well appointed and spotless room. The air conditioning wasn't on when I came in, which is a pet peeves of mine. But no complaints because the room cooled down in a few minutes. Some of the furniture is older but still in good condition. Some of it is new, including the mattresses, which are very comfortable. Don get me wrong; there's a reason it's the cheapest hotel in town. The building and parking lot are not in great repair, but they are very clean. There is a bit of a flop house-y vibe. Some of the guests are long term. However, they are quiet and polite and just going about their lives. You don't want to bring want to bring the kids and vacation here for a week. But if you are in town for a few days or passing through, it is a great place to stay. It is a hotel making a positive transition. You can tell that someone cares about this motel, probably the guy who checked me in. And I just want to tell that person, You are doing a great job. This place is going to be fantastic when you are done with it. Keep up the good work. One downside that just can't be fixed is that it is right next to the railroad and the trains whistle when they go by. Bummer. read more

On the way back to Texas from Colorado 5 days road trip, found this eco motel right exit the freeway through Yelp. Saw many cars park here, feel safe environment, decided to gave them a try, $75 plus tax, including breakfast. Got a clean queen bed room, A/c very minimum sound, clean restroom, complimentary coffee, iron and hair dryer, nice selection of movie choices, a pen and a note card by the bed. Don't worry about the train, it is really not bother our sleep, I m a very light sleeper, we only heard 1 time train sound around 12am, and not even loud, only few second pass through. The only motel that have offering nice western breakfast during this pandemic traveling trip! Owner couple are very nice and friendly, we check in around 11:30pm, he still welcome us with friendly attitude. Thank you for a clean nice economic motel that gave us a really nice rest for the rest of 10 hours drive back to Houston. The best clean motel with a reasonable price so far, pleasant stay like a 4 stars hotel :). Highly recommend!! read more

Don't let the exterior fool you. This was one of the cleanest motel rooms I have ever stayed in. We had a pet room and I like that they had linoleum as opposed to carpet. The floor was clean and I could walk around without feeling the need to wear my shoes. The beds, they were thick and soft. They were as nice as most high priced hotels. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Now, with that being said, there is a train that runs right next to the property. Three times during the night it went by blowing its whistle. This lasts a minute or two and then it's gone. I would stay here again, even with the train. read more

Overpriced, charged us $80 for one night to sleep next to a railroad with a train constantly stopping and blowing it's horn until 4 in the morning. Vending machines were out of order, the room's appliances weren't working properly and our room was full of flies, everywhere. . The chainlock on our door was broken and the fire alarm was not installed, but has loose wiring hanging out. This was all that was available in the area or we would not have paid this much and it seems likely they know that. This room and area is not worth the $80 a night it charged us. This should have been a $40 max stay. I'm mostly pissed about it being overpriced during a pandemic when demand is very low. read more

This is a lay over place along the highway . Hopefully a one night stay and on to bigger better things. The room was dirty, Don't touch anything ! I just picked the pubic hair off my sheets, shut off the lights and prayed they didn't have bed bugs. I mattress was soft . The highway noise and train noise is non stop all night. The fridge didn't work and the smoke alarm had no batteries. The breakfast was actually ok. Front desk guy was really nice. You get what u pay for at the Econo Lodge . read more

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere... could be worse. But compared to anyplace with a population, I wouldn't recommend. We got a pet-friendly room (you need to call ahead, they only have like 3), and it was definitely a pet room, it smelled like wet dogs. The mini fridge didn't look clean, but the beds and bathroom looked clean. The continental breakfast was very meager and not very good. I might look for another place in Dalhart, or keep driving til Amarillo. read more

My parents and I stopped at this hotel for the night on the way to Colorado after already driving 5 and a half hours. My parents paid 140 dollars to stay here for one night, only to see dirty sheets, hair all over them. Not to mention how stained they were. It looked as if someone had already slept in the beds and they had not been cleaned! There is throw up on the bathroom wall and the bath tub is absolutely disgusting! The sink has disgusting spots on it that are not stains, you can tell it has not been washed or even wiped down! With that being said, there is also pubic hair on the counters! I do NOT recommend spending your money here at all! It is not properly cleaned or taken care of, sleep in your vehicle if necessary. Very bad service. I hate to sleep in this bed, I spent over 30 minutes taking every single hair off of it and putting stuff over the dirty spots on it! Absolutely disgusting!!!! read more

After 9 hours of driving we decided to read reviews on this place and stayed there anyway! Just to rest any uneasiness... they do NOT have bed bugs. Ok, blame us for looking for cheap with breakfast. Our fault. The room was better than the Stratford inn but not much. Luke warm water with no pressure. Ugh! Towels were stained and the wash cloths looked like mascara was stained on them. TV controller did not work but I guess we watch too much TV anyway. Bed was ok. Breakfast was a nightmare. Don't go there thinking you'll get eggs like they tell you. Seriously I thought they were yellow pancakes. Flat and perfectly round all the same size and ice cold. Sausage ice cold. My husband attempted to eat it but I opted for the bananas. This was before we saw the two roaches in there. One dead and one moving around. I have no suggestions except, just say no. read more

I am a disabled woman who is allergic to cigarette smoke. I booked (prepaid reservation) a handicapped, non-smoking room. At check-in, the self-proclaimed owner-manager, Viral (Lee) Naik informed me that he was not going to honor my reservation for a handicapped, non-smoking room. It was midnight. I had just driven over 550 miles. I gave up and gave in and asked for any room for which he would honor my prepaid reservation. He then informed me that he would not be honoring my prepaid reservation by giving me *any* room at all, and he also wasn't going to give me my money back. After more than thirty minutes of verbal abuse, I had to threaten to call the police to get my money back. My male business partner had to step in to prevent further verbal abuse. At that point, he gave me the keys to a smoking room upstairs, no elevator. read more

Plumbing was crap. Couldn't control the water temp. Killed a large spider. No iron. Tub drained slow and hair in drain BEFORE using. Even after rinsing tub before I used it I felt sandy grit with my feet. I did not have sand on me??? Ceiling light fixture falling off ceiling. Small breakfast area and it was difficult to get into parking lot. Paint was really in bad shape. Fridge froze water and freezer compartment needed defrosting. DON'T recommend. Horrible stay! There's bed bugs! The towels are extremely dirty. They look all brown. The owner doesn't care when you tell him anything. He was very disrespectful. The pillow cases are nearly veil. The sheets are nearly veil with holes every where. The blankets are as thin as they can be. The hot water doesn't even last more than 10 minutes. There was a horrible leak from the sink! All night you can hear it drip. Very frustrating and that was the only trash can. The pillows feel as if they're just balls of feather. read more

For the price (pretty cheap), the room we stayed in was pretty good. Everything seemed cleaned. Bed had the typical hotel comfort. They do offer a free continental breakfast, though, it's only until 9 when checkout is at 11. Overall, would stay again if ever in the area. read more

Had to stay in this town unexpectedly and after seeing some of the other motels we were worried what we would be getting into. This place is clean, friendly and the price was great. We got the breakfast and it wasn't bad. The only thing I didn't like was the train. We were so tired that the train did t matter but it's the only reason I'm not giving it more stars. I would recommend anyone driving thru to stay there. The place was clean and safe those things are more important to me than anything else. read more
