I have to say thank you to the management of this hotel. Last night I had an unexpected stop and they made it a fantastic experience. They went the extra mile and even let me charge my car. When I tried to tip, they refused over and over and finally accepted it for their charity. Clean rooms, and their motto is "if you're happy, they're happy!" Thank you again! read more

This town has few hotels and none seem super fancy. However, this is run by a super nice lady who cares about her customers. We left a bag and she held it for us until we drove back through the town a week later. I say stay here anytime you are in the area. read more

The staff was friendly and helpful. We were late for breakfast but they brought out food for us and insisted we take more. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a high definition TV in each room. We enjoyed our visit and will stay again when in the area. read more

The room is clean and spacious, they gave us a discount for staying 10 days for work. The staff is very rude, wants to argue with you all the time. It has a pool, it's nasty, no water in either pool or hot tub, filthy water with boards floating in it. I called from booking. Com to make reservation and she said she was totally booked. Had a hired man go to office and they had 2 rooms for us. I don't think she wants to go thru booking or any other site because it's less money. Plus they said no pet fee and lady ahead of us had to pay for her to have her dog in hr room, plus was charged over what the reservation of $70 was, it was around $98 she had to pay. The lady that owns the place was very rude. She complained upon our check-in about the price we booked on Expedia to stay at her hotel. The room was clean. The pool was closed for some reason,lots of frogs in the area. Luckily it was only one night as we were passing through. Stay away from the breakfast, they had peanut butter in jars. I picked creamy peanut butter, but when I spread it on my toast it was chunky. My plastic wear looked like they had dug it out of the trash and washed it but did a bad job because it still had food on it. Yuck!!!!!! Bananas were good. Please read this review. It is critical, to consider service especially when it comes to lodging during long travel. I made a reservation for today, on the website for Rodeway Inn, as I am currently travelling from Nevada to Chicago over the course of 2 days. The website is choicehotels.com, which is the exact same site/system this hotel (I use that term lightly) uses to view your reservation. This reservation was for Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 - 2.5 hours ago from me writing this review right now. Problem 1: The rude lady behind the reservation counter was asleep at 1st. I appreciate & respect all nationalities and ethnicities. For the purpose of identification only, this female employee appeared Indian or Middle Eastern. Problem 2: She could not locate the reservation, even though I provided the entire confirmation received multiple times, via the email Rodeway Inn sent me. Problem 3: Her attitude was that she was being inconvenienced, and wanted to go back to sleep - she repeated over & over again, cutting me off each time, "it is NOT in my SYSTEM, it is NOT in my SYSTEM there is nothing I can do." Problem 4: She said it was MY mistake to book online instead of call, I remind you the site I used was theirs & not a 3rd party. She then randomly stated that 3 yr olds use the internet on phones all the time, and that phones are toys. I advised her this was completely irrelevant, and that internet commerce is not new or can it be blamed for obvious mismanagement or lack of trying to assist a customer. Problem 5: She advised me to come around the desk & look at her screen, so I did. She just had an open search for arrivals today- she was not entering in any info such as confirmation number- or anything that any other hotel I've stayed at has done. Problem 6: I saw on her screen that there was an option to select the word "Find" - I asked her if that was to find reservations - She then mumbled something about it being only to look up past customers & then immediately started yelling at me to step back to the front of the counter. I did, but reminded her that she asked me to go there & look. Problem 7: The website says, dead center, "Pet Friendly." When I made my reservation, I thought ok good, I have a small dog with me. When I filled out all the reservation info, there was NO selection to enter a pet, in case of extra cost- but then again pet friendly, right? Wrong. She advised that I should have filled out a "special request" online for a pet. I told her any customer would not know that, because special requests = out of the ordinary, not bringing a small dog to an advertised pet friendly hotel. She wanted to charge me approx $20 more, you know- just because. Problem 8: Concerned with getting double-charged, I brought this up. She merely shrugged her shoulders & restated the rate. I cannot stress how absolutely & blantantly rude she was. In summary- I did not end up staying at this hotel. I realized that I could continue to try to help her find my reservation, but between that being ridiculous & her horrible lack of service, I could no longer take it. I advised her that I used their website, she blamed me for doing that, she did nothing to assist me, and consistently interrupted with rude, irrelevant comments. I believe she was intoxicated. I have not made this up. This happened, 2.5 hours ago. DO NOT STAY AT THE RODEWAY INN - DALHART TX. You have been warned. read more

Clean room Checkin was cranky less than pleasant breakfast was average no meat.hard boiled eggs no scramble. Price was 98.00 for the 2 queen room no Aaa deal Showed up at 4 am for a room was told to be gone by 11 asked for a later check out was told 1130 she had no compassion we broke down and the g m c dealer was next door and even had the gall make sure at breakfast the car was going to be ready by 11. She wanted us out for a group of railroad workers coming in the next night. Her husband was nice and pleasant at breakfast talking with us and relating to our problems with the truck. read more

MONEY HUNGRY!!!! I had a FRIENDS & FAMILY discount which made the room go from $89 to $49. I am relocating across country and it was late this was the closest. I get there and the lady at the desk looked at my reservation and made a face then asked me where I work! I told her I am unemployed atm due to relocation. Regardless, this was NOT her business. So then she asked how I got the discount, I said its a family and friend discount. She said that my boyfriend would not be able to stay, only me. She stated the discount is only for me so even though it was for a room that fit THREE people I would have had to pay $10 more if I wanted him in the room. This place is money hungry and ridiculous. This hotel was perfect for us. We love being able to pull up to our door. Place was clean, landscaped and friendly and felt safe. Will definitely come back. Only negatives are the blow dryer is a bit weak and if you are tall the shower head height could be a challenge. Highly recommend ! read more

We had a very nice stay here. They worked hard to get us the best room they could. Call ahead to get some custom help in getting your best room. Our dog ran away and they did EVERYTHING to look for her called animal control, the police, and walked around to help us search. She was in a room where another guest has checked out. read more

Pulling 2 ATVs on a trailer is a little tricky with hotel parking. After 14hrs of driving & every hotel full from Trinidad, CO to dalhart, tx we stopped here at 1am. The room was clean & comfortable (smelled a little stale with ac turned off). The pillows left something to be desired. The staff is friendly & welcoming. The breakfast was ok. I should've gotten one of those "Texas" waffles. $85 an ok value. read more

I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton, so my expectations weren't high. As hotels go, it's dated, both inside and out. But it was clean and comfortable. My issue was with the front desk staff. I've never been treated so poorly in my life!! When I went to check in, I showed her my confirmation and she started in "how did you get this rate, how am I suppose to make any money like this" she went on and on. She continued to complain and check me in so I looked at my phone to check my confirming email to see if there was a mistake and she said "what you looking for a better deal, this isn't cheap enough for you?" I was stunned! She then handed me one key (which is fine, but I'm usually asked if I want one or two) and she said "you bring this key back in the morning, don't YOU leave it in the room"... We opted out of the breakfast as we couldn't wait to be off that property. I did return the key, no one was at the front desk so I just continued to ring the bell, she eventually came out, I handed her the key and asked her her name. Like Cher she evidently goes by one name, Lucia, either that or she figured out why I was asking... My advice, there are plenty of other hotels in this small town, I'd opt for one that wants your business and treats you respectfully. read more

Room was OK clean but the staff is awful. They came in to the breakfast room barefoot and in pj's to tell us they need to check our room before we leave because we had pets...wonder if we will get our pet deposit back if everything checks out. Horrible customer service whomever the lady was!!! Accused me of being at the hotel with another vehicle and I didn't even know the person. She said he stayed in room with me and the room number She stated was not even the room number I was in. Then she kept bullying me into not smoking in room which I clearly said my actual friend that was with me, would go outside and she could have seen him smoking outside. VERY poor customer service!!! All we needed was a room to stay as we drove across country! She was the worst of the worst, hello woman ur hotel isn't a 5 star luxory establishment! Get a clue!! read more

Everything they say about this woman is true. Very, very rude. I filled out the registration in cursive, not thinking as I was very tired from a full day on the road. She very rudely told me she couldn't read it and then scolded me for a while. I told her I'd be happy to fill out another and,print,this time. Reluctantly, she gave me one. After filling this out to the best of my printing ability she again told me I had horrible handwriting and it would not suffice. I handed her my license and she didn't want it. I was irritated. she handed me my cc and said to go away. Knowing,there was no availability at other hotels I finally convinced her to let me stay. She continued to berate me. Never been treated like that, particularly where I'm paying nearly $100 of my hard earned money. The room was dated but clean and the bed comfortable so I'll give them one star, but make this your last choice in Dalhart. I've read here that her husband is kind so maybe he should take over the responsibilities at the front desk. We had no interest in staying for breakfast and moved on never to return. read more
