Customer service was good, and although they're more expensive than Uber, I continued using them. But recently I had two negative experiences with them at which point I believe I'll be using someone else. 1. Trying to arrange for a pickup for an airport run at 5 AM - it gets booked but then canceled. So, I had to find alternatives. 2. I was doing my expense report and noticed last few receipts were higher than usual. I've opened the receipts (usually I just pay through visa on file through the app) and was surprised to see they charged me tips by default with no input from me. Super slimey and sneaky. I didn't authorize tips, I didn't agree to them - they just changed them. Hope few extra dollars in tips were worth losing a loyal corporate customer.

Having a rude dispatch lady who doesn't do jack shit also doesn't help either. They also lied saying I wasn't there and so the cab left. To make a long story short, I was…read morestranded in Peachland late at night while waiting for my boyfriend to come all the way from Vancouver to pick me up. I called this taxi company and Mark picked me up within a couple minutes. I explained to him I needed to get to a gas station to charge my phone as my boyfriend was going to be a couple hours. Mark advised the nearest gas station was closing in only a few minutes. I was having a rough night and briefly explained what left me stranded. I was also pretty scared being a lone female in the dark with only my luggage in tote. At that point he turned off the meter and told me he would take me to the local bar on Beach Ave where he stays posted for the night. He said he was going to make sure I stayed safe until my boyfriend arrived. After a couple hours, a creepy guy inside the bar made me very uncomfortable so I decided to take my luggage and sit in the cab with Mark. The man tried to approach me in the cab but Mark told him to leave me alone and that I wasn't interested in speaking with him. He then allowed me to wait in the cab with him until my boyfriend arrived. When my boyfriend showed up, Mark helped me with my luggage and kept his promise of keeping me safe all night.... And he did not charge me a single penny. I have never received such amazing service from any cab driver in my entire life. This isn't just a man with a taxi, he's an inspiration to humanity and took me under his wing while I was in a very vulnerable state and super far from home. I will forever be grateful for his kindness and highly recommend his services to anyone! Thank you Mark for turning a horrible situation into a happy ending story for me. Called Check mate cab yesterday for pickup at 9:45 am today. The dispatch lady was very friendly and had no issue changing the time. Probably she was able to look up my profile through my caller ID. I changed the time for 11 am pickup. The taxi driver showed up at 11:05 am so not bad. The taxi driver was very friendly. He had no issue finding the address I provided him because he used a GPS. Everything went well. Got to the airport on time. Note that you are better off calling Check mate cab than any other cab company in Kelowna. They have a lot more fleet and they will show up. I liked the fact that I could book in advance. I later found out that they have an app system that you can use to reserve the cab. If you are into wine tour. They also do wine tours. Not sure how that works and the details. But I only found out through waiting on hold yesterday for the dispatch lady to pick up.

Once he dropped her off at the venue he then told the rest of my family she had not paid and didn't have her wallet, so my family paid him again. He charged us twice. He knew exactly what he was doing and took advantage of a vulnerable individual for a long taxi ride. 100% would not recommend this distrustful con artist owner or company.

Twenty minutes later I called again and they said that my driver had picked up somebody else instead. I asked why they would do that and they said the drivers do that sometimes. I would never use Kelowna Cabs again they certainly don't care about the customers and the customer service is pathetic.
