I don't think I've ever been to an airport like this one. When our flight from Vancouver landed…read morehere, we walked half a mile in these tunnel like things that kinda looked like gangways that went back and forth and then suddenly we pop out into the baggage claim. Kinda weird arrival. I like that the baggage claim area is small. They have a couple restaurants (including a Tim Horton) and a rental car desk and then check in is just around the corner. Walking to the rental car pick up wasn't too bad, and the rental car people were surprisingly nice. Welcome to Canada I guess. When it's dark, it's a little hard to see the rental car sign that tells you where to drive to drop off rental cars. The process of parking in the right stall and dropping off the key was easy enough. Air Canada check in should have been easy, but for some reason, our United booking didn't match up to the AC booking, but that's a different story. On our flight out of Kelowna, I was surprised to see that there are like 8 "gates" with 2 ish seating areas. I can see how it can get congested easily if there are multiple flights. We happened to be on the first flight out for the day so security and the waiting area weren't too crowded yet. We got to the airport at 4am for our 6am flight. None of the stores or eateries open until 4:30, so there was a long line for food and coffee at 4:40.

Helter skelter - that's the best way I can describe the airport... Once you get checked in the…read morewaiting area for flights is congested and choked - not a nice way to spend time on a travel day. There were lots of opportunities for photos and videos and they even stopped for photo opps with the train. We travelled from Winnipeg to Kelowna and had this experience recommended to us…read more On Saturday morning, after checking Google Maps and seeing what we believed was a 40-minute drive to Summerland, we booked tickets at 10:00 a.m. for the noon train ride. Unfortunately, once we were on the road, we realized we had made an honest mistake when entering our starting location into Google Maps. About 30 minutes into the drive, it became clear that we would not make the required 11:30 a.m. check-in. We immediately pulled over and called to see if we could either reschedule for the following day or receive a refund. We explained that we were visiting from out of province and that our travel time had been miscalculated due to an honest error. Unfortunately, both requests were declined. We fully understand that there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. However, we had booked the tickets only two hours before departure because we genuinely believed we had enough time to get there. Given the circumstances, and the fact that there were seats available on the following day's train, we had hoped some flexibility or goodwill could have been extended. As first-time visitors to British Columbia, it was incredibly disappointing not only to miss out on an experience that was highly recommended, but also to lose the full cost of our tickets without any goodwill or accommodation. Customer service leaves a lasting impression, especially in the tourism industry where word of mouth is so important. While we understand businesses need policies, how those policies are applied can make all the difference. Unfortunately, our experience left us frustrated and disappointed. As a result, we would be hesitant to book this experience again if we return to British Columbia and spend our money elsewhere. Sincerely, A Disappointed Out-of-Province Visitor

The resort was nice, pet friendly which was a must for us traveling with our little pup. Beautiful location - waterfront. We had room service just to take advantage to the perks also there was nothing really around. Although it was beautiful location not much around for food options. Room service was good. Room was clean, bed comfy, bathroom was small and sink was outside the bathroom. Check in and check out was easy. Several days later I saw on my credit card that I was charged the whole amount of our stay, which I had already paid through Expedia. I should have only been charged the pet fee & room service. Contacting the hotel was a bit of a hassle. Eventually got my refund. I can imagine this place being really nice and busy in the summer.

My husband enjoyed the hot tub (limit of 2 people) and a swim in the pool yesterday before we went for dinner. There is no housekeeping service because of covid but you can request any top up of supplies you may require. The room is very clean and well sanitized. The beds are comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Friends of ours are staying at the Grand Okanagan and they are very disappointed as none of the facilities are open and very little staff available so they have a room with no glasses, no chairs to sit on and a phone that does not work. They've had to request the most basic of supplies on numerous occasions. The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. There is a nice boardwalk out on the lake and it is a short stroll along the water to their sister property - Eldorado Resort. Finding parking on their lot can be challenging.

Great... when we walked into the room, it was clear it wasn't an upgrade. Old carpeted floors, two small beds in separate rooms (not what we wanted) and an old kitchen that didn't even have a proper coffee brewer (think a $10 walmart pot brewer...). We called down and asked if we could forgo our "upgrade" and just have the room we booked... we were then told our original room had a leak and was unavailable. Okay, so not really an upgrade but our room was not available and you had to move us to what was clearly a worse room... but called it an upgrade to avoid needing to compensate in any way. The bathroom floor was covered in hair... I wet a kleenex to wipe some up, and the kleenex came back black. Really gross, we ended up laying towels on the floor so we could comfortably have bare feet in there. The tv was on the writing desk, blocking the one mirror and also being blocked itself by the chair... The linens on the beds were awful. I'm not a "thread count connoisseur" and I don't think I've ever even noticed the sheets in any hotel, but these were so rough, it was like sleeping on no-name brand paper towels. Luckily (?) we booked through hotels.com which has great customer service. They were able to cancel our last night and get it refunded, and we moved to the Coast Capri hotel down the street. Maybe the Inn & Suites rooms that are reno'd are nicer? No idea since we got stuck in our "upgrade" suite.
