I've seen a lot of eco type shops. I worked in on in London a few years ago and have since had my eye on the consumer retail scene. They tend to be focused on light bulbs, organic creams, reusable nappies, cleaning products - lifestyle stuff. I'd not been to a larger scale energy saving one however until I'd walked in to Eco Living.
Alistair, the owner, tells me he is now a certified light engineer which he can create and make virtually any low energy light feature - industrial or on a smaller scale for the home. They don't do fluorescent lights.
They also have solar panels, compost toilets, compost bins, detergent free eco balls, mains water savers for BASIX, 4 and 5 star appliances, building products (like insulation and roofing, double glazing and eco walls), solar heating, cleaning products, garden water savers, grey water tanks, pumps and water filtration units.
The great thing is the Eco Living Centre will install any of it's products for you if you don't fancy getting a trady to do it. Personally I'd go with the experts that know the products best. read more
