Tom installed a parking pad for our trailer. He was great to work with and even pressure washed our driveway to remove his loader tracks.

Dan is incredibly unprofessional and rude…read more We hired him for a smaller sod laying job (150 sq ft). Note that all materials required I already had on hand (we just hired him for labor to level & lay sod). When he firsr came to our house, he was friendly, polite, helpful upon the first meeting. We spent a while chatting and going over the specifics of the job. He sent us a quote for the work via text, and we agreed to move forward with the work. He was communicative and all seemed fine... at first. When he finally showed up for the job a day or so later, he was in a mood; was flippant and dismissive to me. He began unloading his *one* tool that he brought (note, I was providing ALL other tools, sod, loam, wheel barrow, shovel, axe, leveler, buckets etc etc), and I chatted with him at the back of his vehicle. I could tell something was off with his mood.  He said he didn't want anyone lingering around while he worked. Okay. (I'd be inside with the baby, husband working shift). When he entered my yard, I informed him that the loam needed was in the box of my truck still (parked right next to the yard/gate where the work is to be done, and I have a wheel barrow on hand). I had picked up the soil the evening prior and with the rain (and juggling a baby and toddler while husband works night shift) was not able to unload it into thrle yard. (Yet, it wouldn't make sense to pile dirt on my lawn in the first place given the proximity of my truck to the area that may require a little extra loam, and not knowing if we even needed much to begin with. There would be a bigger mess/job of cleaning up unused soil from my yard than leaving it in the box of the truck. But I guess who am I to debate logic??). This clearly angered him because he "didn't account for moving loam in his price and needs to charge more". I said that was fine (and informed my husband), and then I even said that I would come out and shovel loam since he wasn't expecting to do it. It was then that he angrily said "I have somewhere else to be" and stormed off without any further discussion. He sped away in his car, followed by a rude text saying 2 minutes later saying "find someone else". (OH. And "you're welcome for the free firewood"... because he left me 4 pieces of wood he got from a friend. Yippee). He left me in a lurch. We wasted 2 days giving him our time through discussion and a day wasted when the sod needed to be laid. Left us with no help and a bunch of sod needing to be laid. I do not recommend him for any capacity of work. His immaturity (leaving the agreed job like an angered child without discussing his issues), not attempting to fix the situation or even explain, and leaving customers 'high and dry' is no way to conduct any type of business- even if it wasn't directly affiliated to his arborist job. If he had some issue with anything happening on site, he could have had the maturity to speak to me like an adult to discuss any changes in scope/price.
