It has all the food and toys of the large chains, similar friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the same smell that you'll find in other pet stores. The thing I like about Pet Planet is that, since it's smaller, the staff actually remembers you... or your pet. I've seen plenty of people bring their dogs with them to this store, something I've never seen anywhere else. It's pretty neat because when I go in I get to pet and play with doggies that aren't mine. I've never seen any cats in there, but who brings their cat with them places? They offer many different services for your furry creatures such as day spa, grooming, training and day care. Since they have something that would suit almost anyone with a pet, it's like your own personal pet store. Pet Planet actually makes it a point to make sure you are educated about your pet. They offer plenty of information for new pet owners, or people just looking to further their knowledge. I'd rather go to a pet store where I feel the people truly care about my animal and what's best for it. Pet Planet definitely gives me that impression, which is why I'll always go to them first for all my pet needs and questions. This place really is the cat's meow!

LOVE! Super friendly staff. Always remember me and seem to have more knowledge than my vet…read more Also you can earn points on purchases that can add up to money off in the store.

The location of this place is close to my home, so I don't have any issues dropping her off first thing in the morning and running errands before picking her up by lunch. I was referred to her by a friend of mine, and I'm glad I was because now I can suggest her to my fellow Yelps!

The cut is all choppy plus King the groomer clipped a chunk of his fur at the top of his head. Then on top of this she charged me $63 dollars! I usually take him to Pet Planet ( which do a great job) but they were booked until August 30th & we were leaving on holidays August 26th. I thought I would try someone that could take Riley before we left for our trip. Plus this groomer was close to my home. Lesson learned! I will wait & take Riley to his regular groomer after our holidays then have to go through this! Riley usually comes out all full of pep but he came out of this shop cowering. While King was showing me the place on his head where the clipping was screwed up - she held his face roughly. Please - check these groomers out before you leave your dogs. I paid my money but I'm so glad I can let my story known to other pet owners.

We have been looking for a daycare closer to home for our one year old puppy. This seemed like a…read morenice place. She went for the introduction day and all went well. There were no issues with her fitting in with the other dogs. When we picked her up, we noticed the handler aggressively correcting her with the leash (negative reinforcement). We had understood the daycare had a positive reinforcement policy. Beyond this being a bad training technique, it is useless with our dog as it makes her more excited. We did not say anything to the handler and brought it to the attention of the owner privately to see what was their opinion. He responded that both us and our dog are no longer welcome at his business.

I am a pretty protective dog dad and bad experiences tend to stick out, so I thought it was time to write about where we found that we are happy with! One day while at the Bowness off leash park, there were quite a few more dogs than usual. Turns out it was "park play day" where the daycare brings the dogs for some playtime in the park. The owner was there and taking pictures of the dogs, as it turns out he is also a pet photographer! Our dog turned out to be pretty photogenic and got some good pictures. My girlfriend got information about the daycare and the next week we started taking him there. The building is a good size inside and outdoor play area as well. On hot summer days there are kiddie pools set up where the dogs can jump in and cool down. The facebook page is updated often with pictures and videos of all the dogs so we can check in and see all the fun being had while we are at work! Brian, Janice and all their staff are amazing. They always tell us a bit about what our dog did, who he played with and such. We have never had any issues with the daycare. It is reasonably priced, with multi day packs available to save some money. They also do regular nail trims for him, sometimes without us even asking! Brian also has a professional photo studio where he does amazing work with the dogs. We took ours in for a Christmas photo shoot and ended up getting amazing pictures and Christmas cards done. I would highly recommend Back in the Pack, and I'm sure my dog would too!
