Having moved many times using mainstream moving companies we thought it would be good to try a…read moredifferent option for a local move. We were downsizing to a house in same town. We were going to use PODS as there was a period of time before we would take possession of the new house. We had to make arrangements for POD delivery and pickup. Not difficult except we were told by Relocate that we would need three PODS. Turns out this changed on a day to day basis and ended up needing six. The packers usually arrived between 9-9:30. An hour for lunch and they were gone by 4:30 due to travel time from Strathmore to Calgary. What was to be a two day job turned into several. Luckily were staying in our RV. Had we been staying in a hotel there would have definitely been a lot more expense. The last day of pack up the 6th POD did not show up. Relocate sent a truck out for the last bit. They ran out of blankets and as a result several pieces of furniture were damaged. The truck was to be unpacked into 6th POD in Calgary. My husband took pictures of the last POD being unloaded at the new house. The damage was evident from the start. No blankets were used on pieces as they transferred furniture to POD. This move was a gong show from the start. The packers were pleasant and did there best. Overall we were disappointed with their service. Ours was a big move and perhaps they underestimated what they had taken on. We sent a text message to the owner of Relocate Stress Free with pictures of the damages. Two weeks on we've heard nothing from the company.
