**THIS IS A LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH THE READ - TRUST ME!**
I HIGHLY recommend Eclipse Salon! I just moved to the city from the East Coast and was concerned about finding a new salon. The thought of trying salon after salon seemed exhausting. I read the reviews on Yelp for Eclipse so I thought I would give it a try... took a risk and was rewarded!
I spoke with Gary on the phone before noon and we discussed what cut I wanted and more importantly the color. I use to dye my hair red and have been growing it out for months, but my hair was looking so dull and lifeless and the colors were so off. I told Gary how I want to transition to blonde by summer and needed a healthy cut. He said he would text me and asked me to send him a few pictures of my hair right now, what color I wanted and the cut. Immediately after hanging up, there was his texts! I sent him the picture, and within minutes Gary called me back and together we discussed what would happen today! Gary explained in detail what was going to be done today with the color. I couldn't of been more exciting! He then told me that his employee John would be doing my hair today, not him. I became concerned for a moment until he told me that he was personally calling John to tell him exactly what we talked about.
When I finally got into the chair today with John, I showed him the cut and color and together we discussed my hair and I could instantly tell he talked it over with Gary because he told me the same thing Gary had over the phone. Now the thing that usually makes or breaks salons for me is my cuts. I have wavy/curly hair and my hair ALWAYS ends up shorter than I wanted it to (and yes I've tried the whole tell them 2 inches longer than I actually want cut or whatever - never works). I told John this and told him where I actually want my hair cut to be, how I want my layers and my bangs. I could tell he COMPLETELY understood. He even made a joke about what my hair would look like wet versus dry and curly. I was SO relieved.
The whole process took a while but was WELL worth it. John told me everything he was doing. I got blonde highlights throughout my hair. After shampooing, we than talked about either doing a glaze or a toner to bring down the highlights a bit, make it look more nature, and make it so the highlights blended better in the areas of my hair that are still red. I heard him over the phone with Gary (whom told me he was going to be in contact with John while I was there) and together they discussed what to do next. He did a glaze, washed my hair and then began the cut. IT WAS PERFECT! John cut my hair the right length, the right type of layers for my wavy/curly hair, and cut my bangs JUST HOW I LIKE - some stylist don't listen to me because I like my bangs to start under my eyes so it frames my face better because I have a long face. The cut was perfection. Then John and another worker (Amber?) began to blow-dry my hair. Two people blow-drying my hair at once! I felt like a movie star! And he didn't blow dry it straight, but a beautiful big-curled blow out. It was so beautiful!
Overall, my experience was AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, and PERFECT! I am so unbelievably happy with my results! And on top of having a great experience, fabulous cut and color, Gary texted me again later to ask how my appointment was and asked me to send him pictures! Gary truly cares about his customers and John honestly cared about his client! John took his time, never acted rushed; he took his time and listened. Gary went above and beyond to get me the cut and color I wanted, and made me feel so comfortable and valued by texting before and after my appointment.
I will DEFINITELY be back to Eclipse and so should you! And the pricing! I got done a cut, highlights, glaze, shampoo, conditioner, and blow-dry for only $150! FOR ALL OF THAT!? I love this place... I can't wait to come back again in a couple months to get rid of the rest of this red and get some more highlights! read more
