Beware! Avoid this company at all costs!! Trust me--you are better to go somewhere, anywhere else! I would give them no stars if possible. We needed carpet for our livingroom and was hoping to find something that matched the existing carpet in our bedrooms. I didn't have a lot of time to shop around because we were moving and had to get the carpet replaced before we had all our belongings delivered. I was able to find the matching carpet at Eckard and was quoted over $3500 for carpet for just the one room. I thought this was pretty ridiculous but again, didn't have time to shop around so went with them. I paid approx $2700 for the down payment and then they said they would contact me to schedule installation. It took them over two weeks to schedule the installation and then didn't show up on the original schedule date because they weren't finished on another job. We had to go ahead and have our belongings delivered before they finally showed up the next week. When they did show up the guy was late. Then around lunch time he said he was going to lunch and never showed back up! The next day I called the store to find out what was going on and was told he had to go make corrections to another job. No one bothered to call us and let us know so my husband who had taken off work for him to be there sat and waited all afternoon and lost wages as a a result! Their carpet installer finally came back a couple of days later and "finished" the carpet installation. He left a mess with scraps of carpet everywhere. We realized he had carpeted over floor outlets and had not properly tightened the carpet down in one corner where there is now a large bump. When they called for the remaining payment I told them I wasn't paying anything until they fixed our concerns. Almost 6 months passed without a word and then they contacted me again for the remaining $800 balance. I told them I wasn't paying a cent until they came back and fixed their errors. Well fast forward another month to this week....I get a letter from a law office saying they are going to sue me if I don't pay the remaining balance. We are not paying them anymore money for a horrible carpeting job, horrible customer service, and now threats from a law office. They did a terrible job, never fixed their errors and expect us to pay them. Its crazy. What an awful company. Unless you like to pay too much for carpet, enjoy guessing when it might actually be installed and aren't worried about taking time off work subsequently losing wages while you wait around for it to be completed, don't care about the quality of work, and enjoy law office threats, then take my advice and get your flooring from someone else!! read more

Apryl who is a design specialist provides you with a interior decorator's eye which is beneficial when you are trying to pull looks together. I found my hardwood flooring that I have been looking everywhere between Interstate 75 and Interstate 16 to find. This is why I love shopping with local businesses. Apryl and Tyler are so helpful and kind. I will be able to get what I love when I am ready to lay it down. read more

I really wanted to use this company for our new carpet, but it was a struggle just to get some customer service. I will give them two stars because they were knowledgeable about the carpet and the selection was good. HOWEVER... 1. We had an appointment at 4:30 for measuring on Tuesday. I get a call at 4:15 saying the man couldn't make it. No worries... 2. He was supposed to be at my house at 5:00 the following Thursday. I got hime at 3:45 and he was sitting in my driveway. He said he called and left a voicemail that he was early, but I had no missed call or voicemail. 3. A week goes by and I had to call for my estimate. I was told it wasn't ready because he had been out of town. He emailed it to me the next day. 4. The estimate was for the wrong pad and wrong carpet. I also asked to remove the furniture charge because we were going to remove it ourselves. No response to my email...I waited a week and called. The receptionist said they were busy. 5. A few days later I got a new quote, but they could not remove the furniture charge because it's a flat labor rate. I said I would get back with her, but I ended up finding the same carpet and a better pad for $700 cheaper! Carpet Store Plus in Richmond Hill did an outstanding job!!! I recommend them!! I never heard anything else from Eckerd's. It's a shame. I had high hopes! read more

How do you not order enough carpet? I am very disappointed by this company. When they did not have enough carpet their solution was to piece together the pattern with remnants with three additional seams. I found the solution not acceptable. Now the carpet is on back order. The installation of wood floors were equally disappointing. The demo and installation should have taken five days but required 8 days. I called the owner with my concerns and left a messsage. I spoke to him the next day after I called him again. Of course he was just about to call me. Really? Just like I was to get the email from the manufacturer that verified delivery of the carpet prior to my move in date. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I went to get their advise on what we needed to finish our stairs in our house. We brought them a sample of our floors and pictures of our stairs. They told us what product we needed for the stairs. We ask many times for them to explain how the product they suggested was going to be installed because it didn't make sense to us. They kept telling us that's the manufactures recommendation for our floor. So we ended up taking their word and ordered it from them. Two days later the product arrived and it was not the correct product for our floors. I immediately called Eckard and left a message. Over the next 5 days I called, left messages and email. The would not email or call me back. Finally on the 5th day I got ahold of the guy who recommended and sold me the wrong product. I was out of town at the time so we scheduled a meeting in 2 days when I would be back in town. I was supposed to bring in the product to show him it was wrong for my floors. He texted me the day before our meeting to inform me that I would not be able to return the product. I called him to get further information about why I couldn't return the wrong product he recommended to me. He immediately took no responsibility for his recommendation and began blaming me for ordering the wrong product. Then he goes on to tell me he would be glad to order me the correct product but will not refund me anything for the other product. Eckard's cost me hundreds of dollars ordering the wrong product for my floors and then want me to pay them more to get the correct product. Unbelievable! To say I wasn't very happy with his reply would be an understatement. So I reached out to the manufacturer of the product and they said all he would need to do is call in and file a claim. He refused to call them and said they don't do refunds and our business is done here. They are supposed to be the flooring experts. We were relying on their expertise before we ordered and they failed us. If you are not familiar with a product then don't recommend it and if you make a mistake then own up to it. read more
