Absolutely recommend this place over CarMax any day. They only buy cars to sell that haven't been smoked in. At CarMax they'll say a car is smoke free but smell of smoke covered in perfume. Jonathan helped my fiancé and I leave in a 21 CRV that's like new. He and Connor helped us through the process when we decided we wanted to switch our first position, a 21 Pilot due to buyers remorse. Everyone here is for you when you're there and there's no constant pressure to buy a car from them. They just want to make sure you're happy with what you get and get the best bang for your buck. read more

The vehicle is fine so far. However, save yourself $699.99 by doing all your paperwork online and not in store. If you do it online you are not forced to buy the permaplate protection plan. The store will tell you it is REQUIRED. IT IS NOT! The AI bot on the website says the permaplate protection is OPTIONAL and you can remove it before check out. Test drive it and then go home and buy it online where you can take your time with the paperwork. They will sneak this in on the iPad signing portion of your purchase. Don't allow them to take any money before you see all the paperwork, and beware that any digital signing can apply your signature to forms you haven't discussed. I had declined all extras and wanted to purchase just the vehicle, but this was still added without my informed consent (yes, technically I signed it). I asked to cancel this policy when I found out it was optional and added to my final bill. They refused to cancel or refund, and the salesman and their manager said the permaplate was pre-applied to all their vehicles. This is not what the website says. I won't buy from them again, but if I did I'd do it all online and not be forced into an appearance protection policy I did not want or knowingly consent to. read more

Do not buy a car from this inept incompetent company! I was instructed to go to DMV within 7 - 10 days after my purchase, I went at 10 days waited for 4 hours at DMV to find out they do not have my title or registration documents! received an appointment for one week later at DMV. Contacted Echo Park that day to find they had not even shipped my documents, I received a promise they will ship my docs next day overnight fedex. I am at DMV now for my appointment and the docs are not here again. Wasted another 4 or 5 hours of my time, and could be 2 to 4 weeks before I can get another DMV appointment! Beyond frustrating! if I could show ZERO stars I would! Buy your vehicle somewhere else! read more

Keith @ EchoPark answered my prayers. Late model, low mileage, and good condition.!!

I was excited to trade in my FJ Cruiser for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SXT listed on their website. While setting up an appointment to look at the Challenger, I asked to test drive it, and the salesman said that all I needed was my license and insurance. I arrived with my required documentation, but he informed me that since my mom's name was on the insurance card, I would be unable to drive it. At other dealerships, I have been permitted to test drive their vehicles without hassle. After inspecting my car, the buyer informed me that my FJ, a rare Trail Teams Special Edition in great condition, had lost around 30% of its value due to a single odometer discrepancy of around a thousand miles. Other dealerships I've since spoken with have offered me thousands more for my car and were not phased by its minor mileage variance. I felt that their offer was an extreme lowball and way below market value, which was insulting. Also, I gave them all of my information before coming to the dealership, so why wasn't I warned about the mileage discrepancy before driving an hour to meet them? I could buy that Challenger easily, but I refuse to do business with this sorry excuse for a dealership. Think twice before doing business with EchoPark Birmingham! read more

They add a $700 paint protection on the price. It's nothing more than a spray coating that last a few months and the rest is a bogus insurance policy. Product is about $25. They also tried to tax $900+ on a $18k car when it should be a lot less. Stay away unless you love meaningless add ons. read more

I am active duty military, and we just recently moved here. My wife went in on a Saturday while I was at work. She was interested in one of their cars but couldn't sign the paperwork until I was able to get off work and get there so I could co-sign. My wife left for one hour to get our children food, and got a text saying the car was sold to someone else. She was extremely interested and salesman Blake knew this. By the time I was able to get there and confront him about it was obviously too late. Well that didn't matter to them anyways. She didn't even get an apology or anything. Do not recommend shopping here. read more

I would avoid this place if possible. The salesmen did nothing to actually talk about the car or its inspection. When I test drove it, he was on his phone in the back seat disengaged. Cared more to talk about other things versus actually focusing on the car itself. When we got inside to talk financing, he stated that add-ons were necessary and he would have to go "ask his manager" to remove them. When I told him I didn't want them, he got the female finance officer to come and pressure me into adding windshield protection and a warranty. I also asked for a copy of the inspection report and was told he would have to "request" it and email it to me. I didn't receive the email by the following day and had to call to request it. I had an unsettled feeling about this place and the car and decided to take it to be inspected by a mechanic who advised me NOT to buy the car. Loads of rust underneath, leaking valves, botch jobs, critters had chewed parts under the hood, latches missing, no spare tire tool, and console cover missing. They also couldn't provide 2 keys. When I returned the car, they took absolutely zero ownership and made all kinds of excuses. I told the sales manager that their selling tactics are unethical and that buyers should be given a copy of the inspection report on the spot. The inspection report stated OK for every item on the report and the only thing noted was brake pad replacements. The excessive rust and corrosion categor was OK. If you buy from there, I would pay to have an outside inspection. read more

Echopark Irondale particularly Gloria Lee and maybe her finance manager tried some shady tactics on me. First after sending them my Banking information I told her I had a $2000 dollar down payment, no more, no less. She stated that ran the numbers to the Bank at $2500 Then after I got they stated they thought my income was $5000 dollars more than what I told them and what they had looked at. Never mind that I told them I was getting transportation to drive 2hrs 30mins and to have the numbers and approval ready! What a disappointment! All I asked is MEAN WHAT YOU SAY!! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My partner bought a car from EchoPark and within the second week of owning it, the brake caliper broke off. That is a serious and dangerous issue that should never happen on a supposedly inspected vehicle. That was just the beginning. He also discovered the oil pressure sensor was faulty. They had the car for two weeks for repairs, only to return it with the same issues and now that it's conveniently out of warranty, they refuse to fix anything. These problems were clearly there from the beginning, but they're now denying all responsibility. EchoPark markets itself as a trustworthy dealership, but my experience has been the opposite. They sell faulty vehicles and delay repairs until your warranty expires so they can wash their hands of it. Shady, dishonest, and unethical. Don't fall for the hype. These are con artists masquerading as a car dealership. Save yourself the money, time, and stress. Go anywhere else. read more

I had an appointment to test drive a vehicle at 2:00 and was called at 1:55 to let me know someone was test driving the vehicle. I had rerouted my trip 2 hours out of my way only to have it sold out from under me. I understand the dealership is within their rights to sell the car since I did not put down a deposit, but had hoped as a courtesy I would have the chance to buy it first. But this dealership is not trying to overcome the used car stereotypes. They might have a good car at a good price...but I wouldn't go out of my way to find out again. read more

Then, Josh-manager at Echo Park Automotive in Birmingham- had someone call to tell us their was someone in the store buying the car. We told the sales rep, we bought the car. Guess what, Josh sold it. Didn't even have the courtesy to call us back or tell us himself. After calling numerous times, emailing, chat, etc., he called back the next day without an apology or offer to help in any way. Still don't have our money back either! read more

Stay away. I wish I had. They will not stand behind the vehicle I purchased even though they knew it was damaged. I bought a 2024 Subaru Forester from them about 3 months ago. I noticed within the first couple of days the front end was severely out of alignment (should have noticed sooner). It had obviously been this way before I purchased it because the front tires were dangerously bald/worn on the inside edges. Echo Park did step up and had me take it to a shop that replaced the 2 tires and did a front end alignment (This used up my 7 day return window). Within a few days of that I noticed a creaking noise from the front end. It was sporadic and only occurred at slow speeds starting and stopping moving. It took time to get the sound diagnosed because the weather affected it and I ended up having to record it to get Subaru to dig in and find the problem. There was significant suspension damage that had to have been caused prior to my purchase. All of this should have been caught in their supposed inspection. I was never offered a copy of the inspection report. They are now saying "Sorry we missed the damage but you are outside the window of getting reimbursed". So I am now out several thousand dollars over and above the cost of the vehicle. I have listed below some of what they claim to check in their inspections. While Looking For A New Vehicle and Searching Online I Came Across This Company Called " EcoPark".. I Had Never Heard Of Them and So I Viewed Their Inventory.. and Checked Their Reviews I Inquired About A Vehicle I Was Interested In and Got A Immediate Response.. In Between Work and Other Day To Day Obligations.., I Set Up A Day and Time To Come View and Text Drive A SUV I Was Interested In.... HERE'S Where EVERYTHING Get's A Bit Crazy....So I Arrive At The Dealership and I'm Greeted By A Few People Sitting Directly In Front Of The Entrance.. I Ask For The Young Lady I Had Been Speaking To For A Few Days Over The Phone , I Will Call Her " BETH" and Was Told " SHE'S NOT AT THIS LOCATION. She Is A Customer Service Rep and She Just Takes Calls and Answers Questions , Then Schedules Appointments To View or Test Drive Vehicles!.., But We Do Have A Appointment She Scheduled For You and A Young Man I Will Call " CHRIS " Will Be Your Sales Person. So " CHRIS " Comes Over and Introduces Himself and Offers Water or Coffee. I Sit Down and He Proceeds To Ask Would I Like To Test Drive The Vehicle. I Say Yes and " CHRIS " Goes Off To Get The Keys and After 10 Mins Of Him Trying To Maneuver SUV I'm Interested In and Other's Around, I'm Able To Do A Test Drive. Upon My Return I Stated I Was Back and " CHRIS " Was With Other Customers. At That Point I Sat Waiting For A Few Mins.., When " CHRIS " Was Able To Come Over and Speak To Me, I Stated The ONLY Concerns I Had With The Vehicle Were The BAD Tires On It...I Requested New Tires and Mentioned The Price and Showed The QUOTED Price The Young Lady" BETH " I Had Been Speaking With ( via text and phone conversation ) Had Discussed.., At That Point " CHRIS" Walked Away and Returned Very BRIEFLY With Another Young Lady That I Will Call " Amber" . She Introduced Herself and Asked A Few Questions . I Showed Her The Text Messages I Had With " BETH " and " AMBER Stated " BETH" Is Not Able To Quote Prices .., She's Only Able To Schedule Appointments To View and Test Drive.., She At Our North Carolina Location"!.., " AMBER and I Went Back and Forth About Price I Was Quoted ., I Asked To Speak To " BETH " Via Phone and Even Tried Calling Her Myself , Got NO Answer.. " AMBER " Stated They Had Put In A Call To " BETH " and Was Waiting For A Response. At That Point " CHRIS " Walked Away and I LITERALLY " NEVER SEEN HIM AGAIN"!!! So After Waiting For " AMBER " About 25 Mins..., She Comes Back and Ask Me To Explain My Conversation With " BETH " Again... At This Point I Am Aggravated That She Keeps Asking Me The Same Questions AFTER I've Showed Her The TEXT Messages THREE Times. So I Then Tell " AMBER " That I'm Interested In The Car BUT I'm Concerned About The Tires ..." AMBER " Says I Will Ask My Manager What He Thinks. I Went To The Rest Room and Was Informed By Someone That " CHRIS " Was Sent To Take The Car To The Service Department... After 15 Mins .. and NO " CHRIS " .., I Was Told That The Service Personal Stated " THEY WOULD ONLY INSTALL 2 TIRES and THAT''S IT!!! So I Proceeded To Leave and Discuss The Situation With Someone and They Advised Me That The SUV Was A GREAT Deal and The Mileage Was EXCELLENT , I Should Purchase The SUV. So As I'm Headed Back In " AMBER " Was Exiting The Building and I Stopped Her and Stated To Her That " IF They Installed 4 New Tires On The Vehicle I Would Purchase It and Their Price .., TAX TAG and TITLE....So I Was Told By " BETH " I Had A Deal ! Well I Informed Them I Would Be Back The Next Day With CERTIFIED FUNDS. I Was Then Asked By " AMBER " If I Could Just Being Cash. I Told Her NO ! She Then Asked If I Could Just Use My Debit Card and Purchase Car Like That ? I Told Her " HECK NAWH ! " ..., Even IF I Could .., I WOULDN'T. So After Speaking To My Banker " AMBER " Was At Ease That I Had The FUNDS To Make The Purchase and Went To Inform The Service Personnel That The Tires Needed To Be Put On By The Next Day... So I Left Echo Park Headed Home ...., Feeling PROUD That I Had Found EXACTLY What I Wanted and A DARN Good Deal I May Add... So Day 2 ... I Was Preparing To Head To Echo Park To Pick Up My New Vehicle and Give Them CERTIFIED Funds For The Vehicle , When I Got A Call From " CHRIS " .., That The Tires Would NOT Be In Until Saturday By 1p.m . So I Was Advised That The Vehicle Would SURLY Be Ready By 3 Along With Paperwork For Title, Registration , ETC.....! Well About 1 : 15 , I Was Headed Out Of My Subdivision En Route To Echo Park .., My Phone Ranged and It Was " AMBER " Informing Me That He Manager Informed Her .., The Tires Would NOT Be In Until Monday . Well I Informed " AMBER " That I Was Headed Out Of The Country On Sunday and Would Be Gone For 7 Days.. At That Point " AMBER " Asked Me To Send Her A Picture Of The Certified Check , So She Could Take The Vehicle Off The Market.., I Told Her " NO " ! ... Later That Evening " CHRIS " Called To Inquire If I Knew About The Tires and When They Would Be Installed"! .., I S read more

Echopark was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. They sit you down at the beginning to tell you how they don't make a commission, they get a salary so they're there to facilitate your car buying experience. Well this does not work at all. There is no incentive for them to be attentive, to move above a slug-like pace, or to help you in any way. We spent all our time waiting for them to go to their back lot to bring up a car for us to test drive, then a long wait for the next one, etc. Once they went to get a car, never came back, we flagged someone down and they said they took it to maintenance because a tire was low and needed air and it would be right out. But after flagging someone down again it turns out the tire needed to be changed and we'd have to wait. At this point we'd been there a couple hours and had only driven one car. A complete waste of time. Given their whole premise is based on non-competitive no-pressure sales, what you're left with is inattentive ineffective sales staff. read more

Gloria & Chelsey were the best! I'd been looking for a vehicle for several months and couldn't find the specific one that met price and usage(mileage) until I found the Echo Park site. there was a great range of vehicles and reasonably priced as well. the initial process once I found the one I wanted was ridiculously easy. 20 minutes on the internet and I had a car in Texas moving our way. EP did a solid job of communicating with me the status of the car, and it was received in good time. I had financing set up, and so I thought the process would be quick and painless once I arrived at the location for delivery. I was horribly wrong. everyone was friendly. that was a positive. in the last phone call I had informing me of delivery, the person asked if I was interested in extended warranty and other protections. I clearly said "no interest". none. at the dealership, I was asked again, in multiple ways by multiple people if I was interested. I clearly said no every time, but they just didn't care. these protections are obviously a huge profit point and they are willing to make the customer angry to sell them. 2 hours at the dealership for what should have been a 30 minute paperwork signing. they brought paperwork after I'd said no 4 times that still had these coverages built into the price. as a result...I have the car. but I doubt I will ever buy there again. and I will tell every friend who asks about the experience how miserable it was....and how unnecessary it was. read more
