The project took about a week to complete, which was faster than initially expected, and the quality of the work was exceptional. I've been an architect for 30 years so I've inspected a lot of construction work and I can honestly say that the retaining wall exceeded my expectations in every way. I expected to get a replica of the original wall but got something far better in both appearance and quality. The team of masons were courteous and finished the project without skipping any days. They also cleaned up every day and left my yard cleaner than they found it when the project was finished. All of my immediate neighbors have complimented me on the wall and I expect to get many more when boating season on the lake begins next May. I solicited multiple bids for the wall project and selected AJ Masonry because they were the most informative and responsive to changes related to the Lynn Conservation Commission and Building Department. They were not the lowest bidder, nor the highest, but they were worth every penny. I can highly recommend them without hesitation.

When the installer, Axel, arrived, I asked him several times to verify the material, and he repeatedly confirmed the material was pressure-treated while on-site. The following day, a neighbor who is a contractor informed me that the panels installed are actually untreated pine. That has also been confirmed by Home Depot employee. I contacted Axel to request that he fulfill the original contract by installing the correct pressure-treated panels. While he acknowledged the discrepancy, he refused to rectify the situation. I will never hire Axel company again. The fence post is covered with a lot of mildew. Axel has used the cheapest materials.

I would highly recommend VJR Nolasco's services. I was very blessed to have stumbled upon VJR while…read moredoing some google searches, they were actually my last quote I had received. VJR gave a very competitive quote but what set them apart from the other quotes I received was how thorough they were explaining what was needing to be done. What is even crazier is that, a week after speaking with VJR they came out and completed the work in under a week. The other quotes I received were quoting a few weeks for the work. I had VJR cut down some trees, clean up the area, build a new retaining wall and they also helped me remove my shed! I cannot thank VJR enough for all the hard work they had to do to get this done, also to mention this was all completed by hand as they could not get any machines in the yard. I am looking forward to working with VJR in the future to help with some additional projects I have lined up.
