This is an exclusively an anime / manga store . It's an Asian grocery store (mini version) . You can get snacks, drinks , healthcare related items, cleaning stuff etc. But it's very spacious and cute. I think service is nice here and people are friendly . Definitely a nice spot for snacks and drinks. They have cute kitchenware too. I was tempted by all of the pikachu plates and bowls . Just like in Japan they have hot canned drinks to go. That was nice! The prices for everything is super reasonable too.

08.21.23 fun shop for Japanese knick-knacks

Similar to our DAISO stores in California [MOA in MN] Ebisu is one of the 500+ stores inside the Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington MN. This store is very similar to a DAISO store in California. I usually just like to look around and checkout the cute merchandise but this store is huge and I need more time LoL! I enjoyed looking around at all the knickknacks in this store and ended up purchasing something for our co-worker who is a Hello Kitty fan. Just quickly going through the food section. They have all kinds of snacks and drinks... even grocery items! Tons of Japanese goods and merchandise from skincare and haircare, beauty products, toys, stationery, collectibles, gift items. It was a little overwhelming. Somebody mentioned that their shampoos are legit! LoL There are plenty of employees (more like security) out on the floor to assist you if you have questions or are looking for a particular item. I like that the aisles are wide (unlike Daiso) and the items are stacked neatly on shelves and racks. Ebisu is one of the Seven Gods of Luck in Japanese mythology. I want to go back... maybe next month for another business trip. Review #3118

This is now my go-to to pick up Japanese hair-dyes! I only buy Japanese hair dyes now since they produce natural looking results with subtle, seamless coverage. They also contain built-in conditioner to leave your hair smooth and silky. I use the special hair dye that covers gray, since I'm at an age that my hair is graying, but I don't want to show it, if I can! lol. All brands are good, I've tried Kao and Bigen for permanent coloring and they are excellent. I like the product Q10 for quick touchups, too. So awesome! Yes, Lots of fabulous choices to choose from. Thank you!

This was one of the coolest stores I visited in MOA - maybe my favorite TBH. They had sooo many interesting international items. Half of the store was for food and grocery, and the other half was for toys, housewares, etc. Basically, it was like a Japanese Target. I got so many cool snacks! The sweet potato pirouettes and corn chips (shaped like corn on the cob) were the 2 most memorable items. Apparently, this store is a chain, so I'll definitely keep an eye out for any others I come across. Definitely stop here on your MOA visit!

Good translations on the shelf tags otherwise you would have no idea what you were buying if you don't read Japanese. It seems like they've added a store sized section since we were last there. Tons of shampoo, makeup, kids toys, candy, snacks, drinks, cute erasers, dishes, food storage containers. It's like a Japanese Target. Check the shelf price tags though, some $7 shampoo and some $20.

Chan Oriental Market is a mom & pop market that sells your Asian staples like rice, noodles,…read moresauces, spices, etc. Besides dried goods, Chan also sells produce you won't typically find in any market like various mints and Asian basil leaves that you'll get for less than $2. Located in Bloomington, this market offers much more than that. They have speciality homemade savory snacks like Bahn Bao which is bun with pork meat inside. Other ready-made snacks available are fried egg rolls that you can buy by the count. They also fry fresh Youtiao which are Chinese Doughnut sticks that you can buy by the bundle. These donuts are not your typical donut you'll find in any shops. These soft, savory donuts are usually eaten with noodle soups or congee. However, these are not available daily so if you need them, better call ahead or check the stores early. They also have Jian Dui which are Chinese Fried Sesame Dessert Balls. These classic Chinese desserts are made with glutinous rice flour and the filling is made of lentils. But what I really drive to Chan Oriental Market for is the ready-made Bánh mì sandwiches. For $6 each, these sandwiches are worth the price in my book. The bread is freshly baked and is soft inside but still has that distinct crunch on the outside. There is plenty of pork sausage sliced meat included in this sandwich and you can definitely taste and see the pâté on the roll. The pickled carrots and daikon provide a nice sweet tang. The cilantro, cucumber and jalapeño slices add freshness. But like all the other ready-made snacks, be sure to come early because they go out fast. They also have freshly made desserts and spring rolls ready for customers. In my two weeks visiting Richfield, I must have gone to this market at least 5x times just to peruse the aisles and buy snacks. If you're thirsty, you can also let the counter know if you want Vietnamese iced coffee or fresh squeezed sugar cane drink. Now more than ever, small businesses like this need our support. Because like restaurants, markets still have to battle with rising inflation, demand for better pay, and higher transportation costs to keep supplying us with produce and dried goods.

It dawned on me that I had no clue whether Eagan had an Asian grocery store. I did a quick search…read moreand found Viet Hoa Lao Market. This store is across from a Walgreens that I enjoy and a Dairy Queen that I had visited for the first time last month. I found this store easily. It's in a plaza with a bunch of other businesses. I backed into a spot and walked in. This store has Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai items. It looks like a tiny store from its exterior, but there is so much to look at when you're inside. The aisles are narrow. If you require a walker or wheelchair, you will have a tough time moving around this store. The fresh produce and fridges containing drinks and more are on the left when you first walk in. You can get baguettes and banh mi sandwiches by the checkout area on the right when you walk through the doors. The ramen, vermicelli, and noodle section is impressive. I stood there in awe of everything that I was looking at. I was also impressed that there was a little section with Chinese ointments and hair dyes. I wish that it was more extensive. However, if you want white flower oil or tiger balm for your ailments and such, you are good getting them here. It was nice seeing packages of banh xeo flour. You can pretty much find everything that you need to make an authentic Vietnamese, Chinese, or Thai meal, from sriracha to cha chien. I saw huge jackfruit by the Pocky. I've never seen both products so close together in a store. You can tell that this store packs so many products in such tiny quarters. The snacks are decent, from coconut-covered peanuts, to shrimp-flavoured chips. I didn't buy anything, but I was curious to check this place out. The store accepts cash and most major credit cards, including Discover. I enjoyed browsing here. I'd return if I need any snacks or feel adventurous to make some banh xeo in my hotel room. (113)
