It's getting hard to find a bike shop in Scottsdale, AZ that will not gouge you on the cost of…read morelabor. Scottsdale Bike Co. is one of the last reputable shops standing in my beloved Town of 53 years. At other shops in Old Town, I feel the money getting sucked out of my pockets just walking in the door. Some of the smaller shops even think it's acceptable to talk down to me when I am asking about service. The Team at Scottsdale Bike Co. are my kind of people. They'll openly chat about what I can fix on my own and what I need them to handle for me. Their labor costs are the lowest I have found in Scottsdale, and I genuinely enjoy chatting for a few minutes with the service team when I have a chance to pop in to get some work done or see if they can find a part for me. If you're not getting your service and repairs done at Scottsdale Bike Co. you're throwing money away, and I can give you my Zelle if you want to throw your money away in my direction. Thank You Scottsdale Bike Co. for helping me keep my costs down as low as possible while I enjoy the thrill of the ride with my friends and family.

What started out as a Google search to rent a quality and fun mountain bike, at an affordable /fair price, lead us to Scottsdale Bike Company. Quick call on the drive from California confirmed they had what we needed. Upon arrival they noted we were stacking the bikes in the back of our suv, and one of the guys offered his personal hitch rack to ease our load and set it up for us. After a fun hour at the Mesa bike park, we had my gfs son's personal bike break. After fiddling and realizing the severity we quickly ran back to SBC just before closing. The guys got right to work without much more than a question to see if they could get us back on the road before we left the shop. I rented a Large MTB and they offered to swap us out for a bike more fitting for the 12 year old. I said thanks, we'll take it. They then insisted I didn't miss out and sent us on our way with another bike rental. A beautiful amazing and quality full suspension MTB. They inspected each unit thoroughly. Noting one had some damage, and despite them being able to send us with it, they did not. They ensured they sent us on the trails with a solid well looked after unit. As we came back to return the next day, and pick up the bike. They did everything they could to get us running, but it being a 10 year old model (They didn't have parts on hand) they offered to help but would take time to get parts, we're just in town for a short while. When I asked what we owed them for inspecting and trying to fix it, they declined our payment outside of the rentals. True gentleman, incredibly kind, generous with their time and resources. I'd pay every penny to them for parts, service, even a purchase. Whether visiting, or a local, take a minute to give them a chance to have your business! You won't regret it. As honest as they come.

OK, so we chose this place cause it was closest to our hotel, but man, it proved to be a winner…read more The customer service was great, from asking us what kind of riding we wanted to do for our 2 hour rental, to getting down to the nitty gritty with detailed maps, all the way to setting up each of our bikes to match each of our body sizes perfectly. A full tutorial on the bikes --- in our case, a couple of like-new electric Aventon Level 3s --- came afterward, so we knew exactly what we were getting onto (and into). The bikes were flawless; nicely equipped (brake lights, hydraulic brakes, plenty of power) comfortable and well built, and our ride down Indian Bend Wash was really good fun, and a great way to see some of the hidden parts of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. The bikes came with helmets and locks too, and the guys even offered us waters. PedalJetz is a compact outfit, but it's well set-up, with modern equipment and qualified techs, and as a bonus, it's situated pretty close to the aforementioned bike trail. And even after I had a question about the billing a few days later, they got right back to me, so, yea. I do wish they had a bigger selection of smaller bikes, and the website's a bit vague on what you can rent, but that's really just a nitpick -- I'd totally recommend them.

The turnaround time is always super reasonable I rarely have to leave my bike overnight for a repair or maintenance. The selection of parts, accessories and bicycles is very impressive considering the size of the store. They have some very unique and impressive accessories one of my favorites was the Jansport Burrito Roll pencil case used for bike repair kit from several years back. The also offer membership for commuters offering a secure place to store your bike with keycard access 20 hours a day, 7 days a week to use showers, lockers, and towels. Membership also includes access to a basic self-service bike repair area for after-hours maintenance. 24-hour video surveillance and on-site security staff keep the peace. This is ideal since they are located at the Tempe Transit Center which has a light rail stop and bus access. They carry my favorite flat pedals "MSW Thump". They also offer an impressive list of bike rentals at reasonable rates.

The ride starts at their head quarters where they have an office as well aa a mini shop next door to buy drinks for the ride that have to stay on the bike boat. We grabbed a 12 pack of mich ultra which wasnot nearly enough for three big guys and one skinny guy that all know how to throw them back. We had Captain Buzz as our bike boat captain and he let us pick songs on his phone for the ride, I promptly picked Slayers reigning blood which was totally inappropriate since the rest of the groups included younger ladies enjoying a Bachelorette party. Buzz promptly started drinking games and had coolers with ice for the drinks that awaited their prompt demise. We got a 12 pack of mich ultra for around $22 which isn't bad for scottsdale pricing or festivity premium. We stopped at three bars along the way that offered discounted pricing for us bike vips. My buddy and myself road in the back of the bus on a bench that didnt have pedals cause we are lazy asses plus I didnt feel like pumping elbows with my big buddy or having a bike seat up my non existent ass for the first time in 20 years. Pur punishment for not helping the ride was a drink for every drinking game trigger. Which, was a fine punishment for me. We got to hang at each bar for a drink or two and interact with bar patrons while drinking discounted drinks. The selected some cool bars like Rodeo, 50 Shades of Rose, and Daddy's. We had a ball being drunken maniacs an older lady chased down my buddies sun glasses when they fell off his hat into the road. The male to female ratio was outstanding with us four gents and only one other dude with a bunch of rowdy ladies. My wife met us at the last bar as DD. I dont know if they have an option for a ride back but it was two hours of fun for an old dude that doesnt really vibe with Scottsdale that much, but Scottsdale definitely vibe with us on the party bike along with a late night of degenerative drinking and karaoke that ensued as the drinks kept flowing. Thank god for my badass hotwife to drag our drunken asses home at the end of the night. Kudos to Captian Buzz for leading the party and guiding our ship to drunken shores. I am sure he puts up with a lot and if the other staff are half as good as him you better tip your Captain well.

Pete knows bikes. He'll build you something from the frame up, rent regular or electric bicycles…read moreto you and your visitors, and do all kinds of minor or major expert repairs. I was also pleasantly surprised that considering his premium location in the heart of Scottsdale's McCormick Ranch immediately adjacent to the Greenbelt - his prices are not premium at all. I've bought a helmet and had a flat repaired with a cool product that according to the website prevents 90% of punctures and lets you ride at low speed even with a flat. I biked over 4K miles last year so anything that cuts down on flats is a welcome innovation, and having a reliable, honest, reasonably priced bike mechanic is critically important to me. But far and away the most positive experience I had with Pete/V3Tri Bikes is that this past spring he converted my hybrid bike to be electric. It's been a dream come true and has really cut down my car/driving miles even in the summer. Scottsdale is a great place to ride bikes if you use the Greenbelt, bike trails, back roads and sidewalks (Legal everywhere in AZ unless specifically posted that you can't, and of course you have to/should yield to pedestrians.) Pete has become my go to guy for all things bike related. Two of my friends are interested in converting to electric bike and I know Pete will take great care of them. Visit the bike shop and you can hit Chipotle, nearby coffee shops, or brand new craft brewery/restaurant opening soon right next door to V3Tri! Ride safely and enjoy biking Scottsdale!
