This is the most amazing store in the northern lower peninsula for meat as it comes from local farms and is processed on site. Numerous types and preparations of bratwurst, smoked meat, poultry and more. Their ground beef and pork are very reasonably priced and better than anything I've tried anywhere. We LOVE Ebels. They have it all. From Bison to alligator plus every type of jerky or brats you can dream of. Their meats are excellent. The Dawn Fresh Catering in the store is one of my favorites. The meatloaf, soups and cheese bread from DFC are very tasty. Ebels smoked fish is great. They have lunch specials that are huge portions for a cheap price. The young man at the deli counter is very friendly with a good sense of humor, perfect customer service. They carry Brinks Dairy Products which we also enjoy. Make sure to stop in the lower level for a flavored Latte and you can pick up a Stormy Kromer at the same time! read more

This was a disappointment after watching all the commercials during the pandemic, we thought we would check it out. Most of the employees were wearing masks. One of the guys working behind the meat counter was not wearing a mask so we didn't buy anything there. Downstairs, the workers had masks on, some without their noses covered. When I tried to purchase some things, a shopper at the counter wasn't wearing a mask so I tried to pay from the other side of the counter. It was not a comfortable situation, we won't be going back. I wear a mask for you, why can't you wear one for everyone else? read more

Be impressed with this place overall. Very good prices and I never purchased any meat there that I didn't like. There Chicken nuggets in a bulk bag are a great buy. Saved me a ton of money from not getting fast food and they taste better too. No joke if your in the area stop in and fill your freezer with good meat that's very reasonable if not cheap. read more

Have had Ebels process 2-pigs and a lamb from the northwestern mich. fair for about 6 year.They started out very good(5 star) but the last 3 years have been down badly year 4 cuts were changed,year 5 cuts were right but no call when it was ready ended up driving there to pick it up,this year cuts were wrong again,I had to call them 4 times and found out after the delivery it was$100 to delivery back to fair ground. They said they call our phone # 3-4 times but it was the wrong #,they called me on the monday after the fair to go over the cutting(still messed it up) on my cell phone(right #) so looks like I'll send the meat to another butcher after 2020 fair. sorry Eblels read more

We just had Dawn's Fresh Catering provide food for our wedding.. It was amazing! The chicken was not dry at all! The ham was excellent! All side dishes were very good! They were on time, workers very polite, they even came around and picked up dishes from our tables. They put all the food away and cleaned everything up before leaving.. And this was all on a holiday weekend!! I was very happy with their service and flavor!! read more

we have been customers of Ebels for years. we have bought the bulk food from the catering for parties and it was amazing. unfortunately, we hired Dawn Fresh to cater our sons wedding and it was a huge mistake. there was zero communication from the caterer. messages and phone calls were not returned. a week before the wedding we we had to start looking for alternatives. the wedding coordinator finally got them to respond and we were relieved. The caterer showed up late with 1 child to help her. before anyone could go for seconds she was gone and the food was put away. we took home enough food for another wedding. it was obvious they either forgot about our event, or were too busy. either way, they should have been honest with us so we could make other plans. we won't be going back to Ebels. i tried to leave a review for Dawn fresh catering, but there is nowhere to do it. read more

Great place if you want to buy some expired meat that they have bulk packaged and froze. Thought I was getting one hell of a deal, I stopped here to buy bacon and other meat supply's for a recent camping trip. Was in a hurry so I take the blame, but shame on them for even trying to sell this stuff. But hey they threw in a free package of lunch meat because I spent more then $50. Never mind the fact that it expired 6 months ago. Really must thank these fools for ruining my trip. read more

How tiny and rural is Falmouth, Michigan? First of all, it's several miles off the nearest highway, the stretch of M-66 between McBain and Lake City. The "business district" consists mostly of a gas station, an elevator, a church, a restaurant and Ebel's -- oh, and there's a farm right across the street from the store. Ebel's is like a retail oasis here: It's a supermarket, a hardware and outdoor equipment store, a meat processing business (home of Little Town Jerky meats), a clothing store and probably some other retail endeavors we haven't noticed yet on our visits. In any event, it is worth a trip off the main drag just for the experience of wandering up and down and all around the store. The meat department is outstanding, with an especially wide variety of frozen ground meats-- even bison and, if you're lucky, venison. The smoked meats are especially good -- if you're like us and travel with a cooler just in case you come upon interesting food to take back home, you'll want to at least invest in Ebel's bacon; SO good; also lots of sausage and jerky. The clothing area of the store is also noteworthy because it carries quality brands like Columbia and Baa Baa Zuzu, the latter an innovative Traverse City small business that repurposes old sweaters into creative, stylish (and spendy) hats, mittens and the like. If you're headed north (or south) on M-66 you'll find a lot of empty stretches between communities; A trip to Ebel's makes for a nice field trip off the beaten path, with bacon (at least) waiting for you at the other end. read more

When you come here from far away (I live near the base of the thumb) you feel like you're driving to nowhere. It's country side (my hunt camp is nearby) and I make it a goal to stop here every weekend in October November. If it was a hours drive, not 3 1/2 from actual home, I would be by regularly to stock up on their meats. This store is great. I only come here to get meat. If I get something else it's just because. If you're nearby and somehow see a yelp review and are curious about stopping here (and you enjoy jerky/sticks) this is a 110% must stop place. read more

The coffee shop downstairs in Ebel's grocery store in Falmouth is a hidden gem. So cute and quaint. Places to sit and relax or get you coffee and wander around their delightful gifts. It is soooo worth the trip just outside Cadillac. read more

I go to Ebels 2 times a year or more i go their to buy meat that you can,t buy or is hard to get i travel about 175 miles their and back love the store and all the people that work their. the people go out of their way to help you if you need help with something the store is well lilt and it is clean. i would if you go their you will be very pleased. i know i am love the store wish they had one down my way near clarkston michigan. read more

We have made a few trips to Ebel's for their meat. Smoked pork chops are great. It takes us about 2 hours each way and up to now thought it was worth the trip. We decided to purchase a 1/2 cow and a 1/2 pig to stock the freezer and save us a few trips. Ordering was easy and we were told it would take 3-4 weeks for our order. 4 weeks went by and we got a call saying they were a little behind and it would be another couple of weeks. After 6 weeks we called them only to be told they were a little behind and it would be another 3-4 weeks. They had not even started on the order. With service like that we opted to cancel the order. No offer to make any of it up to us or anything, just wait or go away. Really poor service for someone looking to spend a bit of money on a large order. We'll be shopping elsewhere. Truly unfortunate as we liked the meat. read more
