It's 2 storeys!
Leslie W.

BOTTOM LINE: Their "flagship" store, unfortunately, retains the clutter and dreariness of stores past, despite having a massive space. At least the Sony section on the second storey is brightly lit and well designed with their life-sized racing demo stations. I don't understand how almost all EB Games stores are so poorly designed. Dreary grey walls and flickering fluorescent lighting. Instead of organizing their games in aisles, EB continues to line their walls from floor to ceiling in shoddy box covers, which is not only an inefficient use of space, but also makes it longer to find a game as you scan left to right and up to down. Also, despite having so much space, it's mind-numbingly cluttered because products and peripherals are haphazardly strewn in the middle of the store along with the demos. When I need to look for something specific, I end up having to scour the whole store just to make sure it's not tucked away in some random corner. In stark contrast, heading upstairs to the Sony section reveals a white space cleanly laid out, brightly lit and clearly thought out to showcase their current line up. They have their life-sized racing demo with seats and multiple monitors and their Playstation Move area to jump about. It's as if these were two separate stores! To be fair, this store is way more enjoyable to shop at than the cramped one in the Eaton Centre and EB still gives the best trade in prices for used games; however, given that they identify themselves as the "flagship" store of Toronto, I was expecting more.

I have been to this place a few times now and I have had a pleasant experience each time. The staff…read morewere not stuck-up like you would expect from 30-something gamers. Even though I have been playing video games since the 80s I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to the new consoles... I was looking for cables the first time I was here and the sales dude was helpful and courteous. They're not as big as other video game stores so their selection is a little limited. They have a printed flyer on the counter saying which games they are looking for as far as trades go, so they must be pretty particular in what they stock on the shelves. Their location at Bloor and Bathurst is ideal for me. It means I don't have to make the trek to Queen West or disgusting malls. Sonic Boom and BMV Books are in the hood but their selection of video games are pretty weak, and I can see why with GameStop as their neighbour. Will definitely make this my go-to location for video games.

This store is very un-professional. I pre-ordered battlefield 3 and then when release came out he…read moresaid he didn't have my copy and just gave me a regular non pre-order copy without Kargan island map pack worth $15 online. Then today I tried to return my new headphones that I bought from them a couple of weeks ago because the microphone had broken. They said I need my receipt to do that despite the fact that they track every single detail about me on their computer they simply cannot remember that time 3 weeks ago when they promised its easy to return just as long as no wires are disconected. The woman who i first showed the headset to tried to break it even more before saying no we cant honor the $15 insurance we sold you and no we wont be replacing it with a new one like we told you we would. Your best bet is to avoid this franchise, they've hired some of the worst phony clearly money grabbing kids I've ever seen.
