Going to be honest this place is horrible! Went in for Pokémon cards and not only do they preopen all box sets but they keep the then removed packs bundled with rubber bands completely ruining them with creases. If you're a collector don't go here or do and tell whoever decided to do this to the cards they're an imbecile. read more

BOTTOM LINE: Their "flagship" store, unfortunately, retains the clutter and dreariness of stores past, despite having a massive space. At least the Sony section on the second storey is brightly lit and well designed with their life-sized racing demo stations. I don't understand how almost all EB Games stores are so poorly designed. Dreary grey walls and flickering fluorescent lighting. Instead of organizing their games in aisles, EB continues to line their walls from floor to ceiling in shoddy box covers, which is not only an inefficient use of space, but also makes it longer to find a game as you scan left to right and up to down. Also, despite having so much space, it's mind-numbingly cluttered because products and peripherals are haphazardly strewn in the middle of the store along with the demos. When I need to look for something specific, I end up having to scour the whole store just to make sure it's not tucked away in some random corner. In stark contrast, heading upstairs to the Sony section reveals a white space cleanly laid out, brightly lit and clearly thought out to showcase their current line up. They have their life-sized racing demo with seats and multiple monitors and their Playstation Move area to jump about. It's as if these were two separate stores! To be fair, this store is way more enjoyable to shop at than the cramped one in the Eaton Centre and EB still gives the best trade in prices for used games; however, given that they identify themselves as the "flagship" store of Toronto, I was expecting more. read more

This location is one of the larger EBs I've been to. The size of the store considering it's downtown and on Yonge is quite large. I've seen stores in malls or the burbs a fraction of the size. While this store is quite large they seem to basically have all the same items you'd expect every other EB out there to have. I've only bought a couple things at this store and I've not had any bad experiences. While the employees here may not as bubbly as the ones I'm used to at my regular store there's nothing wrong customer services wise that I've ever experienced at this store. EBs trade in prices are by their system so it's not like there's any negotiating. Online if you look EB always has promos for trading in games like a certain amount of games gives you this promo towards something new or things like that. EB has a solid stream of used games too. This store has a decent amount of games I would be interested in. read more

Long story short. I preordered 10 inch Thanos Funko and put down $10 deposit. They never called me and I checked in a couple of times. The Funko was an exclusive and went up to like $100. When I asked for money back... they said I only gave $5. I believe the employee pocketed my money and sold the pop to a friend. I have voicemail and I know if I missed a call. If I could zero stars, I would My son purchased a refurbished Xbox 360 Slim, picked it up, brought it home and it didn't work. He can't even actually return it, no other console can be found and is now stuck with a 100$ giftcard for somewhere we never go, and can't take his 100$ to go find one elsewhere. To make a long story short, I went into this location trying to buy two games and I left with no games. I waited in line very patiently, for about 25 minutes as another customer traded in games. I understand the process of trading in games so I was fine with the wait. What I was not fine with was the other employee who only was interested in helping customers who wanted a particular game (commission bonus?), and when she finally got around to asking if I "had a question" (and I have been in line for about 20 mins at this point) she laughed and let out a big sigh when I asked for a copy of another game. She then walked away from me, without saying another word or even trying to help me. The customer ahead of me in line even noticed. Once the other customer was finished, the other cashier served me, they didn't have the game I wanted in stock (which I am sure the other employee could have told me much earlier), and I walked out without buying my second game either because I could not bring myself to spend a nickel in that store after the treatment I received. Friendly customer service at this location. I have stopped by this place multiples in the past decade as this is the flagship store located across the Eaton Centre. It was only until recently that I noticed they have closed the second floor of this store which had lounging chairs to try out the latest Playstation demo games. Aside from video games, this place carries a lot of gaming/pop culture/sci-fi memorabilia at good prices. Got myself a nice keychain. Not the best selection here. I feel like they are focusing more on the collectable side of things ie board games, Funko pops and just other things in that group. With that being said there is nothing wrong with that. If you're calling yourself a "flagship" store you should have the best selection of games across the board. Last time I went in their Xbox and playstation sections were seriously lacking. I acquired on possible trade in promos ie trading a Xbox One to a Xbox One S or PS4 to PS4 Pro and was told to put down $50 deposit on each and bring in the systems to trade in on launch day or to look online. Buy an extended warranty as the PS4 games tend to not work here. Especially if buy multiple game and you don't plan to play them in a while. I opened my game beyond 30 days and my PS4 console can't even read the disk for game play. There are better places to buy good quality PS4 games on Dundas. read more

If you're going to shop at an EB Games, this is probably the location to go to. It's large with a wide selection. You can move around much more easily than you can at other locations - without people bumping into you constantly, without thinking you're going to bump into a rack and knock it over. The upstairs section, featuring various Sony products, is interesting and spacious. Definitely worth a visit. read more

What I like about this location is the size of it and how a lot of the events such as signings and midnight launches are hosted here. I'll never forget meeting some of the bio shock infinite developers that came here for a signing, and for that, I'm really happy to have such a large flagship store to be able to have such things. But the reason I give this location a two-star rating is because of the poor business practices that the company/manager instills on their employees. I bought a game at full retail price last march, and when the game had gone on sale less than a month of buying it, I was refused a price adjustment despite having a receipt and the game still sealed. I then argued that there was nothing to stop me from just returning the game to them and then rebuy it at the sale price since my receipt was well within validity of doing so, but the employee said I'd have to buy the game from another location. Ridiculous. It seemed like one of those things where this particular employee was only doing what management/head office trained them to do. 5 star for the size, large variety of games available and playstation floor (located on the 2nd floor). 2 stars for the customer service. My friend was looking to trade in his XBox 360 for the XBox One. The manager Blair was very patient and walked him through the pros and cons of each console. That was probably the best part of the visit. When it came to paying for the bundle, we had a girl named Macey who served us. She was very polite but completely clueless on what to do. It took us over than hour to check out including tallying up the XBox 360, games and controller. Honestly, if you want to run a promotion, you should have a clear idea of what your rules and regulations are. I finally understand how a guy feels if they were stuck in Sephora for 1.5 hours. Service was unbelievably slow. I felt so bad for the lady behind us who lined up for more than 20 mins just because they did not have another person open the cash esp when she was just looking to purchase an iTunes gift card. multiple issues with this location. i phoned ahead to make a reservation, the gentleman who i was on the phone with, didn't want to set the items i requested aside, his reason? (we have multiples of this game and guide? just come in) when i explained that i was coming in from out of town, the request was met with some exasperation, and a "fine, i'll do it, youre annoying me" attitude. when i got to the store, my items were not reserved, and the cashier i was dealing with gave me some extreme attitude, with more exasperation, and sighing. i honestly felt like i was bothering her during the whole transaction...now i know i dont spend alot of money every year, but my money is still money at the end of the day. when i complained to corporate with all these details, they asked to speak with me over the phone, which become a game of phone tag that they just stopped calling me back. not impressed at all on a none service level: lots of inventory, lots of room to walk around, and very clean. no parking, so take transit read more

I'm giving this store such a poor review because of their very poor business practices. I was excited to get smash for wiiu and pokemon omega ruby. It was the evening of the m,midnight release, and I was fourth in line. That is until they split the line up into two lines-- one for premium members and one for non premium members, This made it so I went from fourth to well behind 50th in line. Went into this store to trade games because I purchased the New Edge Card from the Shoppers World Danforth store, So anyways I went in to trade 4 games earn my 10% on trade in credit towards a new game and 10% off a "recycled" game. So based on what I was told by the store I bought my Edge card i went to this store and tried cuz I was told I can use my Health Card (even thou not legal) I have my Birth Cerificate which is a form of ID...anyways, so when I went to complete the transaction they turn around and said no, it's a form of Identity Theft, UM HOW! My picture is on my health card to prove who I am. Meh. it's a regular chain game store. staff are only 2-3 people so don't expect "can i help" you unless your there standing at closing time. ps2 or Xbox rare game enthusiast should try check the rack here daily as this store is somewhat the main branch store so they receive lot ps2 Xbox games. got altier iris 3 ps2 for $5. even the staff are like "woah. you found this at our rack?" proves they don't look at their products much. read more
