We have been going to Dr. Powell since my oldest was 3 and she is now 10. They have always been…read moreextremely patient, welcoming and professional. I like that they are very gentle with the kids - not pushing x-rays at the first visit if they child is frightened or seems anxious. They are willing to be patient and take their time if it means the patient having a more positive experience. They have a great waiting room for both parents and kids (lots of Legos, a video gaming system, a TV with cartoons and - my kids' favorite - the fish tank). Their professionalism really shines, though, when dealing with children with sensory needs. My son has autism and serious anxiety about doctor visits. But Dr. Sheh and Dr. Powell and staff always take the time to explain what they are about to do, let him see any tools they are using, and pace the visit so as not to overwhelm him. They can do sedation if it is needed, but, thankfully, my son is able to undergo cleanings in their office without any medication, due to their gentle and patient manner. Both of my kids love going to the dentist.

Zero stars if possible. They will mislead you! They will tell you that they "accept" your insurance…read moreonly to later tell you that they are actually not in network with them and you will pay full price for your service. Ie. for my two year old daughter's first cleaning we were charged $281.00: $59 for fluoride, $128 for a first time consultation and an additional $94 for a tooth cleaning. This is a child with no cavities, very well mannered, and all of eight/ten perfect baby teeth. Brianna also told me their website states they are "out of network with all carriers" so if they tell you they will accept your insurance do not be misled by their deceptive tactics.

Dr Jeon, Detra and his staff are exceptional!…read more I have been a patient for about 4 years. Dr J has done major work in my mouth. Extractions, mini implants, partial and dentures. The cost was very reasonable and I am very happy with the results :-)) I have always been fearful of going to the dentist. Dr Jeon has respected this and always is very concerned about my level of comfort at all times. My fear level is no longer an issue for me when I walk into his office! I trust and value his expertise. He explains everything in detail and the reasons behind procedures that are recommended. Dr Jeon genuInely cares about my well being. He has gone above and beyond in an emergency situation, being there and assisting every step of the way. Detra, the office manager, keeps the office running smoothly and on time. She always is sensitive to my needs when I talk with her. I am always able to get in if needed. Thank you Tucker Family Dental !! Carole

I went to this doctor Jeon for the first time for a routine cleaning and x-rays with no co-pay…read more I was told upfront at dentist office that my insurance would cover and there would be no co-pay and I had also checked with my Dental insurance company as well. Doctor and Dental Hygienist performed some other type of cleaning procedure which I was not told until checkout. (I did not notice anything different). At checkout, I was told that I had a Co-pay (and it was higher than my regular co-pay) for the procedure that had been done. I told her that procedure did not need to be done. (They did not have my previous x-rays or history and the x-rays they took we're good, no cavities, no bleeding, etc.). They would not adjust the charge at check out. No doctor (dentist, medical, eye, etc.) should perform a procedure without first telling the patient and getting patient approval.

The dentist is consistently rude, abrupt, and lacking in basic bedside manner. Dental visits should not leave patients feeling uncomfortable or dismissed, yet that has been my family's experience. I was especially disturbed when my child had X-rays taken and the hygienist did not use a lead apron/cape. As a parent, that was extremely concerning and not something I was willing to overlook. The office itself is not particularly welcoming, and the constant turnover of hygienists and dental assistants only adds to the feeling of inconsistency. It is difficult to build trust with a dental team when the faces and staff seem to constantly change. There are also some obvious inconsistencies in the office's expectations. Guests are required to wear shoe covers in the treatment rooms, while the staff themselves do not all wear them. If patients and visitors are going to be held to a particular standard, the staff should be held to that same standard. The one bright spot is Cheryl at the front desk. She is consistently cordial, informative, professional, and helpful. She is the only reason I stayed as long as I did. Had Cheryl not been there, I would have left this office much sooner. Unfortunately, good customer service from one receptionist cannot make up for poor communication, an unwelcoming environment, staff turnover, and concerns about how patients--especially children--are treated. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
