I define a 5 based on the quality of the food, the staff and the overall experience. We stopped in after reading several Yelp reviews. From the outside the place seems very small and you might question stopping. DON'T let external appearance keep you away. This is hands down one of the best sandwich places I have been to. We had the turkey special, the Ruben and the buffalo chicken. Each sandwich was fresh, well put together, flavorful and hearty. I didn't realize how small Eat's dining room was until we stepped inside... and stepped into a table! Considering it was prime breakfast/brunch time, we were able to get a table together (3 of us) pretty quickly, though it was in a corner by the back door. Their set up if much more conducive to tables of 2, we were very cramped any time anyone walked through the back door or to the other table near us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which came out quickly and freshly cooked. Our service was friendly and helpful. I really just wish there was more space in the "dining room". read more

I finally had time to stop in to Eat today. I live right down the road and have seen all the great reviews so there was no excuse not to try it out. Although I only ordered a chef salad, it was great. Everything was fresh, and the ham/turkey/Gouda cheese was great quality, not the typical lower quality deli meat most restaurants use. As I was waiting for my salad to-go, I I was checking out all the tables and everything looked so good! The waitress passed by with a few sandwiches for another table and they looked incredible, one of them was some type of buffalo chicken sandwich. I'll definitely be returning to try out more of the menu. My only complaint is I wish they were open longer hours and major bummer - they aren't open on Sundays which is typically a day I like to go out and get a late breakfast. read more

And they came with a big cinnamon stick, that doubled as a spoon while I finished them at the airport! That on top of a delicious western omelet, with ham that was flavorful and obviously baked and carved, not cut up deli meat. Okay, so this place is REALLY tiny. And I mean really tiny. It is immaculate and adorable, but I strongly recommend going on off times if you hope to get a table that is comfortable as there are only three of them that don't face the back door, literally right at the door, or the bathroom door. It is so clear that they did their best with the seating, but it's rough. With that said, the food is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We went for breakfast and were fortunate to get a bench table in the front. Very comfortable. I ordered potato, bacon, and sour cream omelet and it was out of this world delicious. They do not skimp on ingredients, and I'm not sure how they can do it for the price but glad they do. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful and everything is cooked to order. They also make their own apple butter. So good. We are going to order some food to go tomorrow as the kids really wouldn't do well in this restaurant. Overall experience: Great food great service. I really liked their breakfast sandwich. Not many places in the area offer breakfast so I was happy to find Eat! It's a small restaurant offering to go and also seating. Not suitable for a large party. Fun atmosphere none the less. Suggestion: I might suggest they use the take out window. This would shield the "eat in" customers from the cold air. Utilizing the take out window would also make it clearer that take out is an option. Tried this place for lunch after reading many reviews. It did not disappoint. We had the chicken and waffles special and a rueben sandwich. Both were very good. Service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. It's funny, I used to live not far from this location and I don't ever recall noticing this building before the new restaurant opened. Let's just start with hats off to the chefs and owners of the little gem. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast and now I have a place to go where they cook it like I would for myself at home. My husband got the meat lovers scramble with home fries and toast. He really liked it. The coffee is also very good!!! I ordered a pancake, oh man was that thing huge. It wasn't light and fluffy but very heavy and thick, almost cakey. It wasn't bad I just could not finish it. I asked for strawberries and whipped cream. I think next time I'd hold the whipped cream it was a lot. The only thing I didn't like was that I needed to add maple syrup to my pancake. The strawberries didn't have enough of its own syrup, so I was a little bummed out about it. So, I stumbled on this place totally by accident! A couple of weeks ago, I ventured to Coughlin's Place in East Longmeadow; but, they were closed due to repaving. It is very small, but we were there early enough to secure one of the 6 or so tables. Our entire meal, though, the place was packed. And for clear reason, the food was awesome!!! The breakfast menu was so simple, but the tiny spin put on things made things amazing. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese...something McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts and every other restaurant sells as generic fare. Eat doesn't roll with those folks though...they throw ham on there...gave me my choice of Gouda cheese (yeah, Starbucks, they're aiming at you!)...and served it on grilled Texas toast bread with perfectly cooked eggs. Delish! The place was small, but quaint, with two extremely friendly waitresses. The other half had eggs with toast, and the server (Ashley) offered a homemade pumpkin butter for the toast! OMG...that sounded wonderful, but the other half does not like pumpkin :( Nonetheless, there is not a single bad critique I can give this place and I do not give out many 5 star reviews. Easy to find with plenty of parking out back, nice and clean on the inside with no clutter and the grub was great with big portions, I didn't finish my taters. I had a jalapeño omelet with hash browns, coffee and a cinnamon rasin bagel. Everything was cooked perfectly and out of the kitchen fast. The waitress was very pleasant and attenative. What can I say? I've only been here for breakfast so i can't review the lunch offerings yet. I would like to tell everyone how awesome this place is. A little on the smallish side, however the food more than makes up for the wait. The family that owns the restaurant are very friendly and appreciate our patronage. I have had breakfast sandwiches, omelette's, and the normal eggs and bacon and everything is always fresh, perfectly cooked, and the portions are big as well. So when heading up or down page try to stop and check out the newest and quickly becoming the best spot for breakfast in the Springfield area!
