This place doesn't provide a lot of seating, but it has a huge selection of hot sauce from all across the world on a table outside surrounded by a few benches. We ordered the tequenos de queso and the reina pepiada arepa. Everything was AMAZING and full of flavor! Service was super fast, and their margaritas were absolutely delicious! This is a great little place to visit while in Puerto Rico!

It's just that you're basically getting food truck vibes and what is essentially street food for a nice, full service price point. The food is hearty- you don't need to order much to get full. Stick to what this place is good at, arepas. They load it to the max and their assortment of sauces are pretty impressive. One thing I gotta say though, $10 for an orange juice is egregious at any level. I could be at the four seasons in Bali and that would still make me raise my eyebrows. Even then I ordered it like a doof and it was like 3/4 ice!! C'mon yall, just take it off the menu if it's like that. Overall, the 24-hour aspect is nice and the food is decent. I can see myself paying a premium after a long night out, but just watch what you get because that bill can run up quick.

We arrived at 11am on a Monday because that's when we thought they opened. They actually opened at 11:30am, so we were 2nd in line at 11am. Once 11:30am rolled around, the line was very long. It's an old house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's pretty big in there and they have an upstairs as well. It really feels like you're eating in a Caribbean home, from the colorful tablecloth to the things on the tables. The menu is on a board, and they have a Spanish and English version. They give you a cup of complimentary plantain soup which was amazing. We also ordered the fried cheese app which came with a delicious guava sauce. For mains, I had the fried pork with tostones and my husband had the mamposteado (corned beef, fried eggs, and rice). My husband cleaned his plate, while I took leftovers back to the hotel (which we actually ate later because it was that good). They were out of tres leches that day, so we had the coconut pudding for dessert. It was my first time trying coconut pudding and it did not disappoint! For drinks, we had the passionfruit sangria. When we left, there was a very long line outside. Despite the line, they did not rush us out. Definitely recommend and would go out of my way to come back next time I'm in PR.

Harbour Prime - Artichoke and crab dip

Located directly on the boardwalk it was a great settling for outdoor dining. The indoors has a…read morevery nice beach vibe, great moody lighting. The service at Harbour Prime was very good. Our server was very nice and helpful with recommendations. Multiple servers came around refilling our waters and making sure we were getting everything we needed. Our server had some good recommendations for cocktails and mocktails! The menu included a very large range of cocktails and mocktails (as someone who rarely drinks alcohol this was appreciated). Overall the food was good.. not great. Something about it seemed to be unfinished or missing that little sparkle that makes you remember a meal. For appetizers we had the Caesar salad, artichoke and crab dip, and the bang bang shrimp. Caesar Salad - This was enjoyable! The romaine was fresh and was tossed in the right amount of dressing and parm. However, the croutons were soggy and lacked almost all crunch. Artichoke and Crab Dip - This app seemed a little bland. There wasn't really too much of an artichoke vibe, or a crab vibe for that matter. The best was the cheese on top. The toasted bread that accompanied the dip was plain as well. Bang Bang Shrimp - This dish was tasty. The flavors were as described and cohesive. I liked how the shrimp were smothered in sauce but maintained their crispy! Skin Fried Snapper (Entree Special) - The presentation of this dish was pleasing, unfortunately that's about all I enjoyed of it. It came over rice, broccolini and corn. The fish was lacking flavor and the skin was soggy and squishy, no crisp to be found. The rice was definitely undercooked and the corn seemed to just be taken out of the can and put on the plate. The broccolini was very good. Desserts (Rum Cake and Chocolate Mousse) - As a big dessert person, these were delightful. The rum cake came out warm and was a nice consistency. The chocolate mousse was the star of the desserts. It was visually appealing and well as tasty. It was so light and airy while packing a flavor punch. 3/5 stars. I would give Harbour Prime another try next time I'm in STX!

We had the Rasta Pasta, the Seafood Chowder, the Crab Cakes - I cannot recall what the 4th person in our party had - but 2 entrees, 2 apps., a side salad and one cocktail - $160. The service was atrocious. The waiter didn't come to get a drink order (not even water) for 20 minutes. Then we waited over an hour for our food. We watched tables outside get seated after us fed and left before we even got food. Our waiter never removed cocktail glasses, never checked back. In fact, a waitress from the other side of the dining room checked on us and obviously it wasn't her issue. We watched a table seated ahead of us with two young boys finally get their food - burgers with no fries, no ketchup, no butter for the lobster etc. They waited another 15 minutes and asked another wait person for that after our waiter failed to return with the same. Besides some of the waitstaff being completely inept, I suspect that the kitchen is too small or understaffed. Either way - they should not seat tables that they cannot actually accommodate in some sort of timely manner. The place is beautiful though.

Ok, so I'm now only writing five star reviews because the world is so dark already. A mediocre or…read morebad restaurant doesn't need to be called out, it will die a natural death. A top notch restaurant deserves to have people know about it because it will support excellence. Dear friends (shout out to Jan & Tom) suggested this place years ago and it wasn't until this year we heard and went. It's a Local's place and my Dad ALWAYS said to "eat where the local's eat-they know good food!" El Sol is such a pleasure to go to. We have dined in the air conditioned dining room enough times that we have "our table". Today we picked up "to go" and Natalie greets with a smile and rings you up-always patient and happy to see you. All the staff there have been a pleasure to work with. Most of the food is on array behind a glass wall when you enter the to go section in front of the restaurant. It's all clean and the staff (from what I have seen) support each other to take care of you. When the parking lot gets full-you can park across the street. Photos of the dinner we picked up are below and a picture says a thousand words. We bought this dinner (and a few other items that don't photograph well) for under $60 plus tip. There are not many places that can feed four a terrific dinner for that amount of $'s!! Everything is not for everyone-this has been our experience and we hope it is yours. Please let me know if it is so I know if I'm on the right track. Thanks! PS make a dip out of good olive oil, balsamic vinegar, herbs of your choice, salt and pepper as a dipping sauce for the Johnny cakes-Rip and Dip!

It was the place to grab a plate of food before heading into shift work. El Sol Bar & Restaurant is a what many locals refer to as a "Santo Bar" or establishment run by Dominicanas (ex-pats from the island of Santo Domingo). This gem is located off the beaten path to most and I would never expect a tourist or visitor to find it on their own. Quickest way to it is to travel EAST, past Sunny Isles on Centerline Road. When you the Sion Farm Traffic Light, make a RIGHT and drive SOUTH. Look for it on your LEFT on the side of the road. El Sol has parking lots on either side of it & also street parking (if it gets that crowded). There are 3 sections to this establishment: * There is an exterior walk-up order area where you can see the food available for the day in the windows. You then point to what you want and they bring it to the cashier for you to pay. * Alternatively, there's also an interior bar where you can order drinks and food as well. A music jukebox and TVs keep you company while you wait for your orders. * Lastly, there's an interior seating area that is spacious and good for groups. Because it is isolated by a door, it makes for more private dining. El Sol has an extensive menu and it is comprised of pork, beef, chicken, fish, conch, many starches & provisions and a few veggies. I recommend their chicharrones (fried chicken), stew fish, porter house steak, their conch and fish. Please keep in mind the times that you visit while ordering food. Sometimes you may find one of their food options in a tray almost empty. When this happens, ask them if they are going to refill it and how long that may take. This will give you an opportunity for the freshest food selection. If you're in a rush, I recommend Calling-In your order ahead of time to confirm order availability. Overall, I recommend El Sol Bar & Restaurant and Ive enjoyed eating here over the years. I've been a patron for many years and years to come.

The atmosphere was cute, a small upscale location with an open kitchen - which I personally love. Will be back!!
