Haha it was sitting up on the sushi bar counter the whole time too. Very strange...the waitress passed it several times. Other people were served first who arrived after us too The place was relatively clean, but not the best. I would go back but it's pretty mid-range as far as sushi goes. See if you can top my ten rolls of sushi- the alleged record is 25!

The whole menu except for drinks and some specialty items are included. You can order whatever you want and as much as you want and they bring it out on giant platters. Just make sure you finish whatever you order! Otherwise there's a surcharge. We enjoyed appetizers first (gyoza, spring rolls, wings and shrimp tempura). Then we ordered two heaping portions of sushi and a beef udon dish. We finished up with ice cream and a donut each. It was $207 worth of food (we calculated) that we ate for under $100 before tip for the three of us. Definitely worth it. The food was generally quality and delicious. The specialty rolls were particularly good. We loved being able to order the individual nigiri. Regularly, these go for a few dollars for 2, but in this case we could just order whatever we wanted. The eel was our favorite nigiri and the dragon rolls were our favorite sushi rolls. We enjoyed mixing the donut into the vanilla ice cream for a hot and cold dessert. Lunch would be an excellent choice if we get a chance as it's significantly less expensive for what, at first glance, looks like the same menu. We'll definitely come back, and soon!

We have always had take-out from Tara Thai. Over the years I would say we had mixed reviews. But…read morerecently we have been very happy with the meals we have taken out. The staff is very friendly and they have been much more accurate about the level of spice we request. Prompt service for take-out.

Definitely picked a bad time to try this place but nonetheless we stopped in during spring break…read more It was crowded, but we were able to get seated at a small table. Not sure the staffing was prepared for a busier than usual Wednesday evening. The main issue was it took forever to get our food. We ordered a couple drinks and then ordered a Wonton soup, Pad See Ew and a Sashimi combo. Although the restaurant started to thin out following the rush, the Wonton soup came out probably 45 mins into our seating. The soup was hot and tasty enough but a small bowl for $7.50. I considered ordering something else to try but held off since I wasn't sure how long that would take. We then waited again for another 15-20 minutes and actually thought about cutting our losses and just pay for the drinks and soup but just then the Pad See Ew arrived. I asked what happened to the Sashimi Combo and the server went behind the bar and returned immediately with it in his hand. We wondered how long that was sitting there. Either way the Pad See Ew was hot but honestly no spice and extraordinarily sweet. It is usually my favorite Thai dish and I always enjoy it but although not terrible, it was the worst I've had. Again, it was hot and fresh, just way too sweet and no flavor. Definitely not to my liking. I had to ask for chili sauce to give it some flavor. The Sashimi Combo was definitely a winner. Nice 10 piece portion for $22. Fresh and nice thick portions of Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, and chef's choice. I'm not sure I'd return but if you want to give it a chance, start with the Sashimi. I hate to rate this place so low but it was definitely a negative experience not sure I could shake. A nice evening out left me disappointed and my wife angry at me for complaining about the long wait and my dislike for the food. The quality restaurants on Saint Simons Island are slim so Yelp range of 5 doesn't exist very often. I'd stick with 3.0 for the food here but my experience was a bust so 2.0 this time.
