We cannot recommend the Bert Hill Moving Company any higher. We have experienced many home moves…read moreincluding 6 moves across the country, and everything from complete white glove service of packing, loading, moving and then the same at other end; to self-packing and using ABF containers. What we learned is that your move is only as successful as the team that handles your possessions. This move we packed and BH Moving performed all the losing, unloading and moving from CT to ME right before Christmas. From Judy D. driving an hour and a half to meet at our home and provide us an accurate proposal, to changing the move dates due to weather, to the amazing crews that handled our possessions, all were absolutely FANTASTIC. On time, on budget, hardworking, respectful, careful and organized! Team lead Melissa (14 years with the company) was an incredible workhorse and was a great role model for hardworking Jake, Sean and Sean. Unusual in today's customer service world, they were all cheerful, polite and NEVER did we see them standing around checking their phones!!! We cannot say enough positive words about all four of them and their care of our possessions and their speed and work ethic! Bert Hill management should do everything they can to keep these folks happy! Hiring Bert Hill Moving should be a no brainer in our opinion

They're making the new company remove all protection and use different protection rather than allowing the furniture to be moved and then get their blankets back, costing us an additional $4k to move out of storage (they're doing that because we're not using them to finish the move as they're charging 2.5x what any other company is quoting us) We will be taking legal action against this company. DO NOT USE THEM, THEY WILL SWITCH THE ESTIMATE AFTER THE FURNITURE IS ON THE TRUCK AND SCAM YOU WHEN YOU HAVE NO CHOICE.

The front office worked with me to accommodate our moving date which was great and said someone would come out to do an estimate, gave me a general time frame for their arrival, and said they would call when they were on their way. As a mom with a 9 month old who has a nap schedule and a dog who barks at everyone who walks past our door, this is extremely important to me. The guy arrived without calling and I had to rush to get the dog out on his lead before he woke up my daughter. He took about 15 minutes to do the estimate, said we'd need one truck with 3 guys and overshot on the time which I expected so no biggie there. Moving day arrives; the crew had loaded maybe 3 rooms (out of 8) and kept saying they were going to need another truck multiple times to the point where my husband and I said screw it, take only the large furniture and heavy boxes and we'll move the rest on our own. 2 of the workers busted their butts while one sort of just organized the truck and then one of the guys busting his butt and the organizer bickered most of the afternoon. The third guy even came and apologized to me and my husband for having to listen to it! A chandelier was broken during the process and no offer from the company to repay us for us or anything. Then the icing on the cake was the foreman did our bill, I had a debit card and he said I had to call the office to do it and I did, at 330 in the afternoon, and the lady who does the payments had left for the day! What?! So in all the craziness of moving I couldn't remember where I had our checkbook and thought I left it at the old house. The office said I could drop it off by 5pm and the foreman said no worries we'll go to the old house with you and we'll bring the check, no extra charge for the time. Only halfway there I realized where it was and had to just stop at the bank and withdraw cash. My husband was in a separate vehicle and got there before me and told them that I had to make a stop. When I got to the old house (which was 20 minutes after my husband and I spoke so he had communicated with them that I had to stop) the foreman was on the phone asking if he should run the clock. Why did you offer to do it at no cost then try to call and ask your boss if you should run the clock? Makes no sense. All in all, it wasn't an awful experience but not worth 5 stars to me and I likely wouldn't recommend them to friends or family.
