I have been coming to this place for years. My father introduced me to this little shop and it's been our go-to place whenever we need a battery change for our watches or whatever else watch related. So I came here to resize my new michael kors I got from costco as a early christmas present for sister. She has the same wrist size as me and I wanted her to get a watch and not worry about the hassle of readjusting the band size. I also brought my husband's tagheuer watch for a battery change. Battery changes are always $5.00. Thats very cheap compared to many other places I know. They change and readjust your wristband size for free which is great because other places charge for any minute service. They sell some awesome clocks, watches and rings. They also sell wristbands both leather, metal, plastic depends on what you're looking for. Two gentlemen run this place and they are very kind! The prices are great at this spot although all I have done are battery changes and wristband adjustments which are absolutely free of charge. read more

This man Bob is trying to charge my old Vietnam Veteran dad $200 to clean and oil a watch that I only paid $150 for. This man shouldn't be in business he doesn't know how to talk to customers he immediately becomes irate. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. He should be more clear with customers on the price -- I can't image an oil job on a watch costing $200. Sad to say I bought this watch for my dad years ago for Christmas and I told him not even to pick the watch up for $200 oil job. What a crock! This is probably a dire emergency and they just neglected to leave any information on the front of the door or it's a family emergency and they should get a pass. However if it's neither of those things or anything reasonably close, this is probably the worst thing that a business could do to itself. I'll let the photos tell my story today while I locate an alternative location for my watch and battery services... Note: Most people don't even wear any watches that require any type of service like this. However I guess I'm an old-timer so I do. But it's amazing to me how a place like this could not stay open. 2 great guys operate this place. Dropped off a movado watch on March 4 th. Needed a new crystal. Just before covid shut things down. They reopened on July 1st. I called and was told the factory that made crystal- closed same day. Received call today - picked it up - good as new. Just wish they had left a message on their answering machine- as to them being closed- had to drive by to see sign in window. read more

I recently went to Eastside Watchbands for the first and last time. I needed a new watchband, and this store is conveniently located for me. One of the owners showed me what looked like an appropriate replacement. But he told me they were closing early to go to a Pistons game and had already shut down their credit card machine. He asked me to come back the next day to make the purchase. That was a flaky way of doing business and completely unprofessional. I had other errands to run and along the way I saw another watch repair place. I went in and bought my new watchband there. These screwballs lost themselves a customer at the first opportunity. The good: I snapped my watch band and took it to a bunch of jewelers who were gonna charge me $100 for a new band. This place charged $5 for a new pin and fixed it right up. The terrible: I went back with my fiancé to get her movado band fixed with a new pin. They gouged the hell out of her watch and we didn't notice until we got home. But I'm sure they would have noticed as they were doing it. Now I need to find a new watch fix-y place. read more

This small store has some neat watches such as your classics (Timex, Seiko) to your asian inspired Nooka Type gear. High end to low end they got it. Some slick ass pocket watches that I'm debating to purchase...we shall see.... They also do repairs and replace watch batteries for $5 in minutes! Have gone to Eastside Watchbands twice, first time no issues replacing cracked crystal on a watch that was a gift, but shortly after replacing the same crystal cracked, so I went back to have them repair it since my initial use was quick and painless, but I had just a horrendous experience when picking up my watch for the second time. When picking up my watch the crystal was replaced as requested, but I was missing one of the two bands on my leather watch. I assumed they had it off for the repair and were going to put it on once i inspected the crystal, but I was shocked when one of the two owners pulled out a replacement leather band and told me i could have it for $22. When I asked what happened to my original leather band, he had no answers. The second owner did try and offer me a free leather band replacement, but when I showed my disappointment and told him I was upset that my original band is no where to be found, he accused me of trying to con him. When I reminded him that I wore the watch into the store, took it off, and handed it to him, he started to belittle me and we got into a yelling match in the middle of the store. He started to threaten to "pop out" the crystal that I had paid for up front for him to replace, and continued to belittle me as a customer, never once admitting any fault. I took my watch and the "free" band they so graciously offered me, but I've never seen two owners have so little respect for a customer. Mistakes happen, but they refused to admit they did anything wrong and immediately tried to make more money off of me, and when I was skeptical, was immediately belittled and threatened. Avoid this shop. Their advertisement was $5 on repair or band adjustment but they asked for $10. I tried paying with my debit card. The associate swiped my card (I think my card went through and charged me 10$) and then he came back to ask what my card pin was. I told him what my pin was but I think he entered a wrong pin code to print a 'declined' receipt. So when I found out that my debit card was charged 10$ I came back and asked them why, he showed me the 'declined' receipt he printed awhile ago(when he entered the wrong pin code on purpose). read more

These guys are scammers. They advertise $5 watch batteries but when you bring one in, they tell you "It'll be $15 for this one, $20 for that one." When I said, "What about the $5 deal?" The guy replied, "I dare you to send it back to the manufacturer to see how much they charge." Really? I bit the bullet and paid for a few battery replacements, but when I put one of the watches on a few days later, I noticed that the face was crooked. It had a gap at the bottom and the top of the Roman numerals for 11, 12, and 1 were hidden. I brought it back expecting the guy to be helpful, but instead he got irate, told me "live with it and quit being picky" (not kidding), and absolutely refused to fix it despite sincere pleas for help. I tried to be cool, but man was he a total jerk! I took the watch to a different place the next day, and the woman who helped me took one look at it, and said, "Wow, that's really off, isn't it?" She fixed it and gave it back to me in three minutes. I tried to pay her for her help, but she refused, saying, "No charge, that adjustment made changing a battery seem hard." Really, Eastside Watchbands? Avoid the rude scammers at Eastside Watchbands at all costs! read more

Took My very expensive Tissot in for the hands to be reattached and, when they came loose again the bald person shook my watch so hard he almost smashed it against the counter edge, then tried blaming me for damaging the watch on purpose, basically calling me a liar and yelling at the top of his lungs. I turned and walked out and he shouted a foul name at me as I went out the door. These guys are a sham and do not deserve to be in business. VERY dishonest and lousy workmanship and do not stand behind the alleged repair. read more

Sign on window says clock repair, I went in looking to order a spring for my grandfather clock and the guy with the beard said we don't do that. If you want your clock looked at we have a guy who will come to your house for $125. Ya right buddy, I just need a part. I got the sense that this guy was a real tool and had no clue about clocks. I guess if your getting a cheep watch band go hear but avoid clock repair questions. read more

So glad I finally found this place; never realized it was so close by. Stopped in for the first time today to replace a watch battery since I wasn't able to get the back off myself and I didn't want to damage the watch. One of the owners helped me immediately and only charged me $5 for the replacement, including the battery. These guys know what they're doing, they were able to customize a watch to fit my girlfriend who has extremely small wrists. They went out of their way to find a solution and she now for the first time has a watch that fits and looks beautiful on her arm. They were also able to revive a Reactor dive watch by installing a new movement for a reasonable price. Glad to have access to true professionals that can fix these watches. If you have a good watch in the cabinet that someone told you couldn't be repaired, take it to these guys. They provide a great service for a reasonable price. read more

I have just come from Eastside Watchbands, in Madison Heights, Mich, and alas I will have to find another watch repair shop to take my business. I have ended my patronage of the subtle scammers Bob & Mark, proprietors of this establishment, both of whom I spoke with, but did not receive satisfaction from. For the past 3 years, I have used Eastside Watchbands for various repair and replacement of 2-3 bands/batteries. I am a repeat customer. Today, I arrived at their shop requesting help with a watch and was told it would cost $5 to close the back of watch I had opened. Outrageous! Their logic? "Go anywhere else and they will charge you more." In essence, they are 'nickel and dimers' of any service they provide. They would not even compromise on repairing a different watch, and then fixing the other watch for free. I was told, "Do you think a mechanic will let you borrow a tool to repair something you broke?" No, but, if I needed help, it would certainly be good customer service to provide something small, and then get a customer for life. I work in a building nearby their location with 250 plus employees. Coworkers had previously said how badly these 2 will take advantage of you. Until now, I had not believed them. Until now, I had been treated with a cursory business respect. Going forward, I will be the person who tells 10 others about a bad business experience. Although this business has been operating for 9 years, it should obtain new ownership that emphasis customer SERVICE. Since this is an independent business, with no regulatory oversight, I have no other recourse than social media, and word of mouth, to express my dissatisfaction with Eastside Watchbands. I will never go there again. If you need watch repair, I suggest you find another business. July 2015. read more

Horrible place! They charged me $20 for their advertised $5 watch battery. Then to top it off they stripped the screws on my $180 G Shock watch and essentially ruined my watch!! What a couple of scam artist morons! They have NO CLUE what the hell they are doing! Avoid this place! They will rip you off! read more
