About a year and a half ago I stumbled across a video online about downhill long boarding and I knew I had to try it! Well, I soon realized that for me to truly enjoy my new adventure safely I would need some professional guidance. After a quick web search I found that Eastside Longboards offered exactly what I needed. Long boarding lessons taught in a permitted, group setting. I was a little nervous not having any experience but Robin made the entire class feel welcomed right from the beginning. He allows you to go at your own pace, answering all questions and demonstrating his techniques until you are comfortable enough to do it yourself. I bought the balancing board with the idea to rehab a recovering hip. Turns out this thing is the most addicting toy in my living room at the moment. My favorite type of workout is when you don't know you are doing it. The guys behind this company probably had the same idea in mind. It's a great way to work on your balance, get ready for the street or the snow and also have a really fun time learning new tricks. Already put my bongo board for sale. It is too limiting on a track. I was looking for a longboard for my son, Eastside Longboards got my attention. The prices are very personable and I loved the design and graphics of his boards. My son was a little apprehensive at first, because it wasn't one of the bigger well known brands, in fact Robin is an awesome guy, knowledgeable and passionate about skating. Total beginner to boarding of any kind... took a lesson with Robin. We met at a park on the East side and Robin walked me through the key aspects of longboarding - how to push, how to turn, how to brake, etc. At the end of the hour, was I cruising around the park, at a slow pace for sure, but much more confident of my abilities. He also gave me a lot of pointers on what to do to improve further. We then we back to his shop and he upgraded my bushings and set up my board just right. I recommend Robin highly if you are interested in taking lessons, either as a beginner as I was, or as a more experienced rider looking to improve your skills. read more

I've always been a fan of eastside boards. My second longboard ever was an old version of the dropboard, and though it's come a long way, it's always been a dependable board that's easy to get used to. I can understand how some people got the impression that the boards didn't have enough concave in the back, but with the new rocky bomber, i'd say eastside has it all. This place is amazing! I was trying to find knee pads, elbow pads, & wrist guards for my grandson (will be 4 in July). Wasn't having much luck finding small ones,as they're out there, but cheap ones for the little guys. I called early in the morning & received a phone call & a text message rights away, on where I can get quality ones, locally, at Daddies Board Shop. And, they just followed up to make sure I had been taken care of. When someone I know needs a longboard, this is where I'm going...& referring! Great experience! read more
