They made sure that not only I took a look at their products but gave me a little insight and knowledge of the brand as well. The quality is similar, if not BETTER than Nike and Adidas. I will be returning and I recommend everyone to take a stop in, it is a hidden gem!!!!!!!!

Kevin is a phenomenal outdoorsman whose experience, extensive knowledge, and professionalism were…read moreevident throughout the winter hiking / snoeshoeing experience I did with a small group he led in the Catskills last weekend. I signed up for a day-long excursion to Slide Mountain. For a reasonable fee: I was picked up & dropped off at a convenient location and provided with all the outdoor gear I needed for the trip, i.e. snowshoes, walking poles, microspikes and crampons. The group was small - 4 of us total - which made for a more chummy experience. I love the outdoors and grew up camping in the summertime- but wanted to whet my appetite for snow sports and outdoor winter activities. This is perfect for a fit, active person who likes the outdoors and wants to try different things out before committing to purchasing equipment. Having the proper gear prior to these excursions is crucial and owning it can become expensive. This is a happy medium where you can try things out before making the commitment. If you get a good group dynamic, you can end up with built-in hiking buds, which is a huge bonus :) I cannot recommend Gear To Go Outfitters enough for renting outdoor gear and especially for their guided trips. I think this will be the first of the many and have definitely opened up an entire world of outdoor winter activities for me!

Told me he had found out where I work and told me he will proceed to go to all of my company's Yelp pages and threatened to make up false ratings. 2. Called me names on the phone and refused to let me talk. 3. And actually, accused me of stealing stakes (that were never actually given to me) and ended up charging me MORE than the original rental. (which I will try to dispute) 4. Threatened to sue me for writing the yelp review... Told me that he is a lawyer and will sue me for everything. I've never had a business owner act so unprofessionally and in such an undignified manner. I would have gladly updated this review with a positive if he had approached this in a fair, polite manner. Instead, he insulted, threatened and even charged me more money because he had the ability to. He used the excuse of "damaged items" (btw, one of our tents came with a hole patched with scotch tape), and claimed we stole stakes from the tents. When I told him that we never received stakes, he flippantly told me "Well you signed the delivery papers, it's not my problem! Why don't you look around harder, check your car!" ... we had never received stakes. He then proceeded to charge me $163 for the "stolen" stakes. I am glad I had the thought to record the entire phone conversation. I only wish Yelp had an option to post the recording... There are many other places to rent your tents from, save yourself the time, money, and after-trip stress. They are thieves...

I am a strong supporter of local businesses, but felt compelled to write a review because of an…read moreextremely poor customer experience. I brought in skis to have them tuned for the season. I haven't skied in four years because of a previous ski injury. I felt ready to get back onto the slopes - not an easy decision. I've been skiing since I was six, so my skis were previously tuned for competition and needed to be readjusted so I can take it much easier. My bindings looked a bit old and I took them in to be readjusted to bring me back down to intermediate level. I brought in the skis and they accommodated a request to have them done by the end of the week. Awesome. Great customer service from some new kids working the counter. I get a call shortly after saying the bindings were no longer indemnified by the manufacturer and that I needed new bindings. They offered to sell me 2022 inventory at 35% off. I asked what make and model and immediately browsed for the same bindings online. The price of the bindings at reputable stores, including their standard installation cost for bindings brought to them, was significantly lower than they were offering, even with the discounts - about 50 percent less. They are a business, I get it. I asked if they would be willing to lower the cost given it's old inventory. I hear an older man in the background saying, as I'm asking these questions, "Tell him to come get his f-ing skis and take them away." I did exactly that. I had been going to them for years, for myself, my kids, and had referred my friends many times over. Now they have not just lost this customer that was getting back into skiing, but my friends and referrals, and possibly some of you reading this review. Small businesses should treat customers with the same respect we give them. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

This store will make your child cry. Late in the season in February of 2022, most equipment was…read morerented. I went in with my 8-year-old daughter after learning they had skis in her size still available. The regular salesman wasn't there, and I was helped by the technician. After sizing my daughter, I asked about purchasing snowboard equipment for myself. When i decided against a purchase, I asked about whether any of the sales items could be put in the rental inventory, and the technician, a man-child in his 30s, took great offense. He basically told me that I should shop elsewhere. They didn't have a rental snowboard for me anyway, so I left and looked around. I couldn't find anywhere else with skis my daughter's size, so I called Sports Barn Ski & Sport back to confirm that they still had the ones sized for her. The technician told me to get lost. Undaunted, I returned to the store. The technician again told me that they couldn't rent to me. Then I found a female manager and explained the situation. I practically had to grovel to these people to rent skis for my daughter because I had no other options. Finally she agreed to rent to me. It's really crazy how offended the man-child became simply because I asked whether sales equipment could be converted to rental.

They processed my CC also that morning for the full amount. I was provided a tracking # from them which showed USPS as the carrier (1st issue) and for the next two days the package didn't move, but the estimated delivery date was still the 15th. On the 15th, ran into my Mail Carrier and he told me that all of the Saturday packages were picked up and he had no record of it (11am'ish). Check the USPS tracking page...(1) showed moving through the system, but no actual location, and (2) now showed a 16th delivery date (Sunday). Sunday came and went...no package. I checked again on Monday morning early, and it showed a 17th delivery (Monday). I then checked a few hours later and it still hadn't moved. I then called into the office and spoke with a male CS agent. I told him what happened, and he said that he would (1) process a refund for the expedited shipping cost to my CC, and (2) call me back later in the day with an update.....no call. This morning early, I (1) checked the USPS status...no movement, and (2) checked my CC...no actual or pending credit. A few hours later after checking my CC (still no credit) and the USPS site (no movement), I called into PaddlePro. First call, a CS agent asked if she could check with the USPS and call me back. I did get a callback, but this time from a "Kim". She told me that after checking with the USPS, the box is still in NJ at the USPS Distribution center and they are backed up. I told her that it was PaddlePro's resp on the shipping/delivery and that I wanted the order canceled and credited back to my CC. Also, if the package ever shows up (highly unlikely), I would call in to get a return shipping label to send it back to me. She flat-out refused and said her "supervisor" told her no credit until I got the box and sent it back. So, in a nutshell - their issue, but they won't take ownership of it. Horrible customer service and follow-thru....I will never buy from them again. Wonder if Bob Considine (owner) knows what's going on. Beware!
