After meeting Jim for the first time, when he came to prepare a bid, I was very impressed with his breadth of knowledge about stain products and what was most appropriate for my home. As I continued to speak with him I was impressed with how he ran his business, and how very similar it was with how I ran my own business, even down to how he managed his labor force. I felt that I ran my own operation very well and was very successful. I had no doubt that I didn't need to even talk to another contractor. Their work was on budget (which was very reasonable), on time and looked fantastic. They communicated with me during the entire job and did some other work at my house while they were there. I have used Jim's firm in the past and they saved one time with some interior paint and drywall work that had to be done within a day! They followed up yesterday to do some final touch ups inside and outside the house despite being incredibly busy with their summer stain schedule. I am so happy with Jim Easterbrook and his crew! We just purchased a condo in a 4 unit complex and got 4 bids for this large job. Jim's bid was very fair and what made our decision very easy is the time he took to explain what he thought would work best for our complex. The wood was very weathered and neglected, he took the time to explain the different options that we had. Once we contracted with him, he set a date and his crew was there at 7:30 am on that day. Many of us expect that and so often it just does not happen. Jim's crew did a stellar job at fixing a ton of pet scratches/gouges on some alder doors and trim; they also went above and beyond to do some touch-up work on areas that were not included in the quote and did so at no extra charge. After speaking with several painting companies in North Lake Tahoe I selected Mr. Easterbrook to paint a cabin in Kings Beach built in 1955 by my father. A difficult job because it had not been professionally painted in over 20 years and of course I was concerned that they would meet my deceased Dad's standards were he still alive. Jim and crew stained the outside of our Tahoe Donner home August 2013 and less than a year later much of the deck and some of the house were very thirsty. After three phone calls, Jim assured me his treatment was working from the inside out and the thirsty look was normal. He said he'd take care of it but for an additional fee. Not satisfied with his answer, I reminded him of his one year warranty, written on our original contract. He rescheduled twice and finally in late October came to apply stain to the thirsty areas. Unfortunately, I had to cancel because the water was off to our house, my husband had just died, and was basically done dealing with Jim and his excuses.
