Erik was extremely easy to work with. He showed up when he said, communicated clearly and helped me choose a great color for our condo. Best paint job this place has ever seen with real attention to detail. He went above and beyond helping me get my screens fixed too! I highly recommend Erik and his team. read more

We needed someone to clear the snow from our garage doors. The plowing contractor did not do this service. We asked our neighbors and they recommended Erik. We contacted Erik and he responded very quickly. He gave us an estimate and we settled on a date. He did a GREAT job at a reasonable price. We will use his services again in the future. We highly recommend Erik for anyone in the Tahoe-Donner / Truckee area. read more

Contract Painting - Cleared out snow and sent us a photo! - Painters Near Me - Truckee, California

Erik and team did an amazing job on our house. This was a big project on short notice. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

If you're looking for a budget painter / stainer and a cheap looking job, Erik IS NOT your guy. His bid came in a fair bit higher than others we got, but we went with him on the recommendation of the real estate agent that sold us our house. Erik delivered a top notch job. Our decks probably had not been sanded since the house was built 16 years ago, and he promised they would look like new when he was done, and they did! Every screw was removed and either put back in or replaced. The house was bleached before he restained it, and the end product is beautiful. As I drive through the neighborhood and look at other Tahoe Donner homes that have been retained, it's easy to see that our end product is considerably better. Again, not cheap, but the quality of the job is impeccable. read more

I talked with Erik for 10 or so minutes on the phone about my home painting project. He said he wanted to think it thru a little and would call me back. A couple weeks later and no response from Erik. I have emailed 3 times and texted several times with no response. I really don't mind if someone says they don't want the work, but to not respond or call back is pretty poor business practice. read more

Erik did an amazing job! He painted the interior of our house, and after it was finished it was like walking into a brand new home! Erik was fast in his response and in getting us an estimate. He and his crew are extremely detail oriented, and everything was done extremely professionally. We will definitely be using Erik for any more interior or exterior painting! read more

I hired Erik to paint my vacation home in Donner Summit. Of the 5 painters from whom I received bids, not only was Erik's competitive, but he was the most thorough in description of scope, and most responsive and timely in terms of communication. He was clear, informed, and helpful on product and process recommendations, and even offered thoughtful aesthetic advice. I hired him remotely, without having ever met in person, and he continued to communicate with me throughout the job. I came up to see the house when it was almost done, and I was thrilled with the work Erik and his team had done. Excellent cleaning, prep, masking, paint, stain, et al, and then thorough job site cleanup at the end of the day. I heartily recommend Contract Painting. read more

His crew was clean and efficient. You get what you pay for. I expect this paint to last many, many years. Quality job! read more

We recently hired Contract Painting to paint the interior of our 3,000 square foot home in Truckee, as well as, to stain the exterior. We found Eric Nyborg, and his crew, to be highly professional and time sensitive to our needs. Eric selected most of the colors for the interior and he is really good at it. My wife and I love the way it looks. As for paint quality, we specified the brand, and that is what was used. As for touch-up, Eric came out immediately and touched up everything we might have scratched when moving furniture back in to the rooms. As for cleanliness, a professional window washer was provided, at no cost to us, to remove any debris after the exterior of the house was stained. The inside of the house was left spotless. As for project completion time, the house was painted in the timeframe promised. I am very happy with my experience with Contract Painting and would highly recommend them. We are very please with our experience with them and will use them again. read more

Eric did our house in Northstar several weeks ago. I had several bids and what I liked about Eric's bid was that he was clear that he was going to put 2 coats of stain on the house. We scheduled the work and Eric stayed in communications with me and started the day he said he would. His guys did a great job, prepared the house the way it should be done, stayed with the job till completed and cleaned up. Yes, the house took the two coats needed which took another full day for the painters. Our house is 16 years old and looks as good as it did the day it was new. Nice Job Eric read more

Erik and his team did an amazing job a few months back for the interior of our condo. Price was very reasonable too

We decided to use Eric and contract painting because we loved the way our neighbors house turned out after he painted it. Everything started great and Eric was easy to deal with and make arrangements with. He gave us a fair quote and gave us add on options (windows, driveway...). The trouble began with us leaving to take our son to a baseball game while the crew power washed the house. We left the doors unlocked and told them to go into the house as need be. The power washing made us nervous, but Eric said they always check in the house to make sure the doors and window frames don't leak. When we returned late that evening we found that the water had leaked through the sliding glass door and soaked through our bamboo floors all the way to the downstairs floors. Tons of water! Several of our boards were warped and damaged. Eric came over the next day and had some guys sand it and try to repaint them, but a year and a half later they are still competently ruined... to the point where every time I walk past them I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Do not have the money to replace or refinish my entire living room so for now we have to live with. In the end we were very pleased with the outside of the house, just wish the inside hadn't been ruined in the process. read more

Erik is an easy-going, professional who does top-notch work. His attention to detail is evident in his commercial proposals and his finished product. I've worked with Contract Painting for about 10 years, and they've done fantastic painting on the exterior and interior of our house. Erik takes the time to listen and walk through projects with you and he provides good advice and solutions, all while being flexible on new ideas throughout the process. I've seen other comments here about timely responses but to be fair to Erik, the market in Tahoe is ridiculous now. Erik was upfront about this at the start and gave me guidance on timing. He let me know he was very busy and booked for a long time so we were able to work out a schedule and project timeline that worked for both of us. He's delivered on that too, as our interior was recently done, top to bottom, and a fellow contractor friend or mine said the job was very good, the lines were tight and the quality of workmanship was excellent. read more

2 messages, no return calls. Congrats on being busy now, but it's not like that forever so blowing people off is bad for business.

Erik painted our cabin in Alpine Meadows in 2015 and did such great work that I didn't hesitate to call him back in 2017 to paint our new condo at Squaw Valley. His team is extremely detailed oriented and even moved our refrigerator to paint the nook behind it. I guess I didn't expect painters to provide this level of service anymore but Erik's team does. You will not go wrong with Contract Painting. I will be calling him back when it's time to do our ceiling. read more

My husband and I bought a second home at Tahoe Donner last May and had the pleasure of being referred to Erik Nyborg of Contract Painting. Erik stained our entire home plus the 4 decks to the exact stain we had selected, he added the perfect trim color, and completed the entire job in the time frame he had promised. He finished off the project by cleaning the windows and touching up the driveway. Our house still looks like a brand new home! We highly commend Erik since he takes total pride in the quality of his work and is all about making sure his clients are absolutely pleased with the outcome. Happily residing on Alder Creek... read more

We've had Contract Painting stain our home on 3 different occasions. Each time, our home has turned out beautifully. This year (July 2013), they brightened up the wood, sanded the decks, stained the wood, and restored our house very near to its original look of 15 years ago. We couldn't be more pleased. The owner, Erik, is easy to work with, completely professional, and very trustworthy. The price is more than fair for the top quality job that is done. We will continue to use Contract Painting for future painting/staining jobs. read more

Erik recently finished our house at Lahontan. He did a terrific job. The house looks brand new. We are extremely pleased with the work.

Erik did an AMAZING job with our project. He took a dirty, dark interior wood plank wall to ceiling surface and turned it into a light, bright, good-as-new surface. It now reflects the natural light beautifully with a new gloss finish. It's like the wood was just installed new now. So happy. He communicated throughout the project and delivered exactly what he said he would. I'll be looking up Erik's crew for my next paint/stain project for sure. read more
