BEWARE! The contractor, TIM REEVES, that works for East Texas Brick is bad news! He installed gas logs for me, I kept smelling gas after he was gone. Was actually getting sick from it, kept opening windows, running fans trying to get rid of the smell thinking it was just from the install. I called Reeves to see if he would come back and check his work to make sure everything was tight......he hemmed and hawed and said he would "check his book" and call me back. HE NEVER CALLED BACK! All this guy cares about is getting paid and then he is GONE. Finally, called Atmos Energy, they sent a guy out and had to shut the gas off to my entire house because Reeves damaged the gas valve in my masonry hearth and it was leaking gas directly into my home, VERY DANGEROUS! Was lucky enough to get a plumber out on a Friday afternoon, he said my brick hearth would have to be torn up to fix the valve, have no idea what that would cost but NOT CHEAP, OR he could cut off the gas line in the attic to the fireplace. I opted to cut the line, because I had to have heat over the weekend, was supposed to get to 30 that night and wanted my gas back on, NOW. The plumber bill was outrageous, had the gas man back to get my gas on and was at my home for 1 1/2 hours trying to figure out why he was still getting a "danger" reading in the fireplace. Finally, about 10 pm, got my gas back on and everything relit so I'd have heat and hot water over the weekend. NEVER DID HEAR FROM REEVES........this bad news contractor did not care one bit about checking his work to see if something had happened to put someone in danger...........didn't care one bit! I have been trying not to review this completely incompetent business, but this last day of trying to get 50 brick to finish my remodel project pushed me over the edge. Started in late Oct 2021 trying to purchase 5000 brick for an addition to house. Went to store and they were helpful getting me a sample closely matching my brick and figuring out how many brick I needed. Went back to store to order brick. Was told I had to call field salesman to order brick . WHY? They give me the number for the salesman over my area. I call and leave a message. Never received a returned call. Went back to store and again tried to order brick. No luck. Only Salesman can take order. I told them he did not return my first call. They had salesman call me. We discussed amount of brick and masonry cement needed. He told me that their office would contact me for payment and delivery was about 2 weeks out. About 3 weeks later I called ETB checking on why I had not been contacted. After being put on hold for 5-10 minutes they finally found the order. I paid the invoice and was told delivery would be about 10 days. 3 weeks later I called to check on brick. Again it took them 5-10 minutes to find my order. Was told they had misplaced order. Questioned them about order and found out the Salesman had not ordered the masonry cement that we discussed. Had them add cement and offered to pay for it. Lady said she could not take payment, but would have someone call me for payment. They promised delivery 5 days later. 7 days later brick not delivered. Called again and asked why order was not delivered. Total confusion. Finally was told truck broke down and other BS. I asked to be transferred to anyone that could take payment for cement and they actually were able to get that done. Amazing. They actually delivered the order that afternoon. Now I need 50 brick to finish the project. Called Salesman. Surprisingly he did not return call. Called office in Tyler, was told they needed to check with their yard people about availability and would call me back shortly. Of course, I did not receive a call and now I am not sure if I ever will. read more

Called to check on just square pavers. Lady that answered phone was super nice & helpful, & transferred me to a salesman. Salesman that answered was polite but was quick to tell me that what I was wanting to do would not even be cost effective, and that they wouldn't have anything for me. When I was in sales I tried to do whatever I could to make my customers happy or satisfied even if that meant outsourcing. I give them 2 stars on this trip. But am willing to give them a second chance because of young lady that answered phone. read more

After buying a unit here a year ago they were happy to take my money. A year later when my unit broke I was told they could not help me and offered no options for helping get it replaced when it has a full warranty. The manager Donna Lloyd whom I spoke to on the phone was rude and short offering no service to resolve the issues. I would not recommend them at all. read more

Let me clarify exactly how much this company sucks. My contractor said Bill would be by my house to review a sample of brick. Well, he came unannounced one night when I wasn't there. He left a sample. I called and told him that it wasn't what I wanted and he made some excuse about how he couldn't make it there again. So, I went to another place and they helped me pick a brick. I called bill and told him what I wanted. Several weeks later, The truck showed up with a full load of the wrong brick. I called bill and told him it was the wrong brick, he asked me if it was okay to let them Unload it because he didn't want to pay to ship it back. I , stupidly, agreed and they unloaded it in my driveway. A week or so later the correct color showed up, but nobody ever came to pick up the wrong brick. So I have 20 pallets of brick in my driveway. Well I figured out later he was trying to sell it before he had to come pick it up. So, he let me store it for a few weeks in my driveway while he tried to sell it. Later on, I needed some stone and my contractor insisted we use them. Well, we didnt have enough and he failed to deliver again and the mason was waiting for them. I had to get the stone myself. Only way I ever got the truth was to call the dispatcher. The best part was this piece of $hit had the nerve to call me a week or so later and ask me if everything was okay and tell me I needed to pay for the brick even though I had already paid my contractor. I deal with customers every day, and I have a very high tolerance, but these guys are the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. read more

This place specializes in brick, fireplace logs and inserts and outdoor furniture, etc. we purchased two gas logs systems from them in 2009 for our new house we were building. The system in the living area burns so hot that you cannot even touch the mantel after about 5-8 minutes. Mantle is supposably high enough, per the specs. We have tried to get them out several times. First year, they said we needed a reflector, so we purchased an overpriced reflector from them. Last year, they would never come out, and again this year. I was in there on December 29, 2011 and talked to them. They said they would have their "gas log service guy call" bug he never has. They have very poor customer service, do not stand behind their products and it seems that once they have your Monet, they do not care about you. read more

I couldn't be happier with the gas stove I bought and had installed by East Texas Brick. They took over in the middle of a mess another dealer had made, (Country Stove Warehouse), and fixed everything. They had to make several trips and I live quite far from Tyler, but the installers were very nice and I feel they went out of their way to make sure my stove was situated exactly right. They demonstrated the operation of the remote and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid for asking. I highly recommend East Texas Brick for your freestanding gas stove needs and stay far far away from Country Stove Warehouse in Sulpher Springs. read more

I so wish I had read these reviews before I went out of my way to go by this afternoon. I didn't realize they closed at 5 but did arrive before. The salesman made it rather obvious he wanted me to leave although he quickly showed me the fireplace glass screens. I guess he had me pegged as someone who couldn't afford their merchandise since he quickly told me the prices before he disappeared behind the counter. I looked at the merchandise and asked one more question. Geez, he rolled his eyes and looked at the clock. I assure you they will be the last place I go again for a Glass Screen. I drove 50 miles to East Texas Brick Co. in Tyler to have the "insulating gasket" around the glass door of my fireplace replaced. They removed the old gasket and replaced it with a new one, approximately 4 feet long but charged me for 10 feet. When I got home, I noticed on the invoice that they charged me for 10 feet and called the office. The girl who was at the counter was discourteous on the phone, had a "that's your problem" attitude, and insisted that they put10 feet, even though I told her that I measured and re-measrured it. She was dismissive and extremely rude. A few weeks later, the insulating gasket started to peel off. A friend bought me some high-temperature glue from Lowe's in Sulphur Springs and I repaired it myself. This is a poor customer service type of company, and I will never do business with them. I will tell everyone I know to avoid these guys -- they are not trustworthy. read more
