    The Tom Kai Gai. Heavenly!
    Adam L.

I had dinner here with friends the other night, my second time here. My first visit was a few months ago for lunch, when I had only the Tom Kai Gai (which was, and is, delicious). After my dinner, though, my feelings for East dropped to...meh. The restaurant itself is well designed, well lit, accommodating, and efficient. We were sat immediately by the friendly, smiling hostess, who walked us through a busy, vibey joint to a nice corner table. Our friendly server immediately took our drinks order, and was back almost as fast. The menu is comprehensive, the dishes having some flair (on paper), and a nice wine list with quite a few 'by-the-glass' choices. I ordered the Tempura Roll2 & Tom Kai Gai, with my dinner companions ordering the duck, sashimi platter, and dumplings. Its when the food arrived that my heart sank. My Tom Kai Gai was the most attractive (& most delicious), but everything else struck me as "phoning it in", & tasted like it. My tempura rolls were good, though the giant bowl of spicy mayonnaise sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and the seaweed wrapper did not taste fresh. The sashimi: slapped on a plate, with a giant nest of some inedible crap in the middle to fill a big round plate. It was ok at best; the dumplings: weird tasting, on a thick sauce that none of us could identify, none liked, but all agreed had a hint of miso (it was like peas blended to mush, but didn't taste like peas. In fact, it tasted like nothing, with a hint of Miso); the duck: the presentation was weird, with a stack of Romaine lettuce to create little boats for your DIY experience, that overwhelmed the presentation. But my first taste of the duck made me think something was off.. It was sour, and not in a lemongrass-y way. The meat tasted like no duck I've ever eaten (& having lived in China for a few years, have eaten a lot of the fuckers). Maybe it was a Skane duck. Or just had a rough life. Anyway, I'm still paying the price a few days later. Don't eat it. Unless you are dieting. The Tom Kai Gai was heavenly, but I had to share it with those who had ordered the duck. Look, I don't know if the chef has lost the plot & given up, or he/she was sick & one of busboys assumed the duties and tried their best. But for that kind of scratch, & in Stureplan, we deserve better. That said, its a good, well-run restaurant. Go for lunch and get the Tom Kai Gai.

I had a great lunch here with the CM from Yelp Stockholm. The sushi wasn't that amazing but the noodles where superb. Both the glass noodles as the regular ones. I also tried the fried dumplings and the dip was super tasty. Read all about it on : http://www.strutterview.com/2012/11/14/from-denmark-to-sweden/

First of all, I'm sad to say there is only 5 stars on here. East would get 100 stars if that was an option. The edamame was to die for. The sushi was honestly the best I've ever had. Then I reached for the stars and took the Japanese IPA and WOW! It was great. Finished the evening with an 18 yr old Japanese whisky that was actually excellent (and I'm a whisky snob) and their chocolate truffle guaranteeing that I have found my new date night restaurant. The staff was professional, nice, and very good to speak with. I cannot wait for next months date night!

Hands down the best sushi place in Stockholm. Good ambiance, good selection of food on the menu, good people watching as well.

Overrated! This place is so hyped up by all trendy locals. you pay to hang out w cool people rather than for the food.

So I finally decided to take my lazy ass across the park & go to Miss Voon, figuring that since I…read morewalk by it nearly every day, that I should try it. Wow. Just....wow! The restaurant's decor is reminiscent of the Buddha Bar in Paris, and it has the same cool vibe with music to complement it. Snygging and I had to get our own drinks from the bar and nibblies were extra, which wasn't auspicious. But the bartender was very friendly & helpful, and the hostess sat us in a prompt and very friendly manner (make sure you make a reservation). Our waiter was very friendly, and very helpful with suggestions not just on choices of dishes, but wine pairing too. Then the food arrived. Gorgeous! Then we tasted it. Oh. My. God! We both started making moaning noises almost as soon as the first bites hit our palates (she started with the truffle dumplings, and I started with the Fjord Salmon). I mean, honestly...other patrons were staring at us like we were up to something under the table. It was that good. Ambrosiac! Then on to the Ox Rib Tempura (more moaning), the Lamb Racks (GTFO!!), and the Lobster Tacos (porn noises). I also had the Tuna Fritters, which, while delicious, didn't measure up to the other dishes... Which were insanely, deliciously good! I read another reviewer saying that it deserved a Michelin star, and I absolutely agree. Miss Voon is expensive, but it is worth every penny. If you have to choose between paying your taxes or eating here, well... the choice is obvious to me. Going back again tonight. Probably this weekend too.

My favourite restaurant in Stockholm... Both for good food and ambience…read more Pure Deliciousness! The dishes are super tasty, delicately prepared and small...and small sizes is great, as it enables me to get a few bites of everything. The way I like it as I am used to that kind of dining from Japan. Every single dish I have tried have been outstanding. The flavours are very refined, varied and unique. Definitely an artform few chefs master. Cocktails...ahhh, I tried 'Stranger in Moscow' and that was it. Hooked...for good or for bad! Deserts...here you can try any and they will be mouth watering. But somehow I go back to the mochi ice-cream. Sweet and simple! Now for the ambience... Book a table in advance. It is often fully booked and especially the weekends you could have to wait until 10pm to get a seat if you come without a booking at 6.30pm like I did. The tables, although pretty closely placed to each other manage to keep privacy due to design. The service is always good...although some due seem to hesitate speaking English. But that is fine...I speak Swedish too :) Otherwise...just request an English speaking waiter/waitress from the very beginning. My number one pick for where to bring VIP guests for a cosy treat and when I want a good treat myself. I would go back at least once every visit to Stockholm. Don't miss it!

This food is so exquisite. I tried about 5 different things on the menu and not a single one…read moredisappointed. They have a mastery of flavor, texture and presentation. The best thing on the menu is their barbecue jackfruit, a tender, lucious flavor you won't believe is made of plants. It goes perfectly with their sweet potato fries, the thin, perfectly spiced morsels that strike the balance between crispiness and still tasting true to their status as a vegetable. The udon broth bowl was complex and comforting, with tender mushrooms, kimchi that was flavorful without being overly sour, and the kind of rich broth that's impossible to replicate at home. Don't miss the burrito either, or the multiple sauces that can transform any of the dishes. Lastly, the service was great. The staff was so helpful in translating the menu for us and answering any questions, and getting us everything we needed to have a wholly satisfying experience. It's also very reasonably priced for the amount of food and quality that you get. My only complaint is that I wish they had a menu that didn't move. Made the ordering process a little difficult. But it's made easier by knowing you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
